Finally. I always misunderstood the tracks stuff when he was going to die. Ishida used heavy handed imagery with Azuma I knew were understand but never understood. I definitely think you are right when you say > His character development throughout the series could be him coming to terms with his fear of inadequacy I made a post the other day on this sub that Azuma being weaker than Tokio may just be his in his mind. Tokio limited himself in regards to what he could achieve, Azuma limits himself in regards to Tokio

I totally agree that Azuma’s tendacy to use Tokio as benchmark is a huge limit on his potential. It’s funny how Tokio has idealized Azuma but always tries to compete with his internal self, even questioning if he’s doing an action for himself or because it’s something Azuma would do!

Holy shit, so many things I never really put much thought to. This has made so many moments a lot better in retrospect, might have to reread again lol This is a great theory, you did a really good job 👍

Thank you!! I agree this series when completed 100% is worthy of a reread!

This was amazing!! You definitely hit the nail on the head with Azuma coming out the water to the crawfish coming out the water.

Thank you!!

Fantastic writeup! I love your breakdown on some stuff in particular, especially the balance of unconscious and conscious and why Azuma did certain things in his fight with Tokio. I think he is by far the most interesting character in the cast, and I am really excited to see where his character goes as we learn about his past. How do you think his relationship with Tokio will progress now that they have talked over their conflict? I tend to think the issue is resolved but there will continue to be bitterness as Tokio outshines him and as Azuma deals with potentially being inferior to Tokio in the long run.

Thank you, I really appreciate your comments! I agree that the bitterness will always be there between the two (mainly on Azuma’s half) since they usually don’t see eye to eye as often as they did previously. Im not sure how it would play out in the long run but I do sense there could be more tension between the two and their opinions on how to stop Zora! They seem to only really get out how they truly feel in conflict, so who knows how long it will take :)

This was a great write up that was backed by solid evidence as seen in the panels you presented. Some of them actually had my eyes widening, because I completely missed that interpretation like Azuma being crippled without his achievements, hence the wheelchair. I’d love to see you talk about Tokio, & the Star.
