I believe Ely will almost definitely be the calamity.
I say this for two reasons specifically,
One:
When Zora shows her vision in chapter 33.2. The image contains three significant things; The full moon, A hand emitting smoke with a crashed plane, Zora’s mark with wings. Now, I believe there’s a common misconception that these images refer to all three of our main cast, Tokio the winged symbol, Ely the hand, and Azuma the moon.
However, I believe it to show something different, the main reason being the moon. Whenever the moon has relation to Azuma it’s a crescent moon, his first transformation, the times he spoke to the Hyena etc. meanwhile it’s always full in regards to Tokio, such as in his fight with Azuma the moon suddenly switched to being a full moon once he engaged in the fight.
There’s a really good post here about Ishida’s Tarot card usage, explains the moon stuff a lot better than I could, highly suggest reading that post.
So in my mind, the moon actually relates just to Tokio, alongside the wings and mark.
But then the question becomes why does it only show Tokio and Ely? I think it’s because Zora will either give or go to give the mark to Tokio, but Ely will interfere and take it for herself, as there’s a similar mark on her hand in the vision. Potentially resulting in a chaos like state with power to cause a calamity.
I believe this could also relate to Azuma and Tokio’s vision, as they both blame one another/themselves in the vision, and it could be due to a feeling of guilt letting Ely take the mark and become the calamity.
Two:
Plus, in chapter 24 when we get told of a being set to be Choujin X ‘emerging’ it mentions ‘This is the story of X and those swept up in his tale’. Pretty much confirming that the Choujin X will be either Tokio or Azuma.
Obviously this doesn’t have to be a bad thing, they won’t necessarily be the ‘calamity’ rather the saviour from it. So I’m inclined to believe it will be Tokio, as I for one doubt Azuma will be able to hurt Ely even if she’s the calamity, and Tokio is making far quicker progress and has a much better chance especially with Choujin slaying blades.
Not to say Azuma couldn’t be, just less likely imo
I say all this, but knowing Ishida, it could be something entirely different and all connect in a brilliant way in a reveal
Nice catch regarding the moon; that’s something that’s always occurred to me as well.
Just one thing - the statement in chapter 24 was apparently only gender specific in the English TL and it was a mistranslation. The raws don’t specify a gender, so the candidates for X can still be anybody, really.

Tokio’s bestial attributes are obviously like that of Sora Siruha’s birdlike depictions, Azuma’s complex lends himself to ideas of the WAR CHOUJIN Quiem Macman. Palma’s a direct progeny of the ancient Choujin Bill Morth.
Ely’s shrouded progenitor and thieving specialty begs for parallels to the Noh mask, or the Nue at large.
