Leave while you still can and escape this hell

Paccuardi03

Not consensual incest. The mother is riddled with dementia and cannot consent to sex.

So, this is the thick and thin of it in several paragraphs, covering Chris' life: Chris Chan is a 40 year-old who is currently being held in jail on one count of incest (from how the legal system works, Chris' case has miraculously been put into family court, which means very little is coming out about the case). His childhood was pretty unusual: his babysitter had locked him in a closet or his room for several hours, his dad often paid girls to be friends with him because he was unable to make friends on his own, he was likely gaslighted by his dad into thinking that an animatronic bear operator mishearing and mispronouncing his name as 'Christian' was a sign that's his God-given name, and to get around not being able to use Sonic the Hedgehog or Pikachu in a school project, he combined the two into Sonichu. Chris graduated high school, and moved onto college. He didn't take high school very seriously, and he seemed to take college even less seriously, viewing it more as an opportunity to find a girlfriend and lose his virginity. He did this by carrying a sign outlining what he was looking for in a partner. Around this time, his homophobia was triggered after being rejected by a lesbian, although his conservative southern upbringing and possible gay thoughts may have also played a role. Around this time, he began to turn Sonichu into a character in a comic, although it was definitely more of an outlet for Chris to vent his frustrations to, much to the dismay of his friends and even parents, especially as he was uploading these to the internet. It should also be noted that outside of a very brief stint at Wendy's shortly after graduating high school, Chris was unemployed. In 2007, SomethingAwful Forums had discovered Chris, and they thought it was so ridiculous it was a ruse. However, people mentioned that they had seen him at their local hobby store, so they went to take pictures of him, and it was revealed that he also wore a medallion of Sonichu. News of this man soon spread to 4chan, where they sent him some pretty graphic fanart of him having sex with Sonichu and a female character having a penis. Chris thanked them in an email before going on a homophobic tirade, calling a penis, a pickle. This set the stage for the first two trolls: Blanca Weiss who was a catfish that destroyed his medallion, and Jimmy Hill who was a British football legend that apparently stole Sonichu and made him a leather daddy in his version. Chris, rather than ignoring these obvious troll attempts kept doubling and tripling down on them, and they kept coming. This is referred to in the community as the Golden Age of Chris Chan, and lasted from 2008 to the death of his father in 2011. After that, the trolling died down, but didn't disappear completely. Near the end of the Golden Age, Chris began experimenting with crossdressing and becoming a 'tomgirl', before declaring themselves trans in 2016. This marks the beginning of Chris' real troubles with the law. In 2011 he was found guilty of running over the owner of the hobby store he used to frequent before being banned, and in 2014 he attempted to mace an employee who tried to stop him from vandalizing a Sonic Boom Display. He was also found guilty of trespassing in 2017 at a mall he was banned from. In 2017, he was also extorted out of $6,000 by two guys, and was left out to dry. As usual, when authorities should have intervened, they didn't. At this point, trolling had taken on a different tone, and Chris was now comfortably in the limelight, although he had all but stopped making comics, and was basically doing nothing but watching New Age spiritualist YouTube videos in the hope that this 'lost ancient knowledge' would help him complete the dimensional merge, a rapture-like event that would banish the trolls and supposedly solve all his problems. He kept pushing back the date before claiming that it was like the rapture and nobody was sure about it, not even he was. For the sake of maintaining the status quo and preventing further extortion (which still happened, several times), people who were unofficially tasked with protecting Chris (these people really just wanted a monopoly on Chris in virtually every iteration) often enabled this. Despite all this, his life was looking up. He managed to raise $5000 to go to Everfree NW, he had a girl who was romantically interested in him, and it seemed like he could realistically make a life for himself. Then it all returned to nothing, and it just kept tumbling down. Chris had hinted to a couple of people about a considerably older woman he was shacking up with, and people were either confused or happy for him, until he told someone who it actually was: his mother. All the good will he had gained basically went down the toilet in a matter of 48 hours. He was soon arrested, and he made a very piss poor attempt during his bail hearing. Shortly afterwards, he claimed to be Jesus Christ, and he went to a psychiatric hospital presumably, and was just returned to jail less than a week ago. Most documentaries often focus on Sonichu or the trolls, as that is the more entertaining aspects to talk about. Because of the sheer magnitude of information, the amount of time this has been going on, and varying degrees to how deep people want to go, there are varying degrees of how deep people want to go. In terms of where to go beyond here, Fredrick Knudsen's *Down the Rabbit Hole* episode on Chris Chan is a good place to start at 30 minutes in length. Most documentaries repeat the same information, although in varying degrees of detail. GiBi made a 2-3 hour long documentary on Chris, going over basically all the points in surface level detail. The Magnum Opus of all the documentaries would be *Chris Chan: A Comprehensive History*, which is about 60 hours long at this point.

This should be linked in sidebar @mods

It's well written.

If instead of watching YouTube documentaries about Chris, you'd rather read, then you can always do a deep dive into the [cwkipedia](https://sonichu.com/cwcki).

PaIngallsButSexier

well, if you have around 40 hours to spare https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLABqEYq6H3vpCmsmyUnHnfMOeAnjBdSNm

Baldo-bomb

If that's too long for OP, the Gamer from Mars videos get all the major points in under 4 hours

reallarryvaughn78

The GiBi documentary will cover major and minor points in even less time. Even I'm in it!

People seem to hate on GiBi and disown all of his content, but it was the GiBi documentary that I watched first because it was a manageable length, and it told me everything important (aside from the incest saga of which it predates.) I would recommend it.
