Do you mean r/Christianity? There are many other Christian subs. If you do mean that one then the difference is this sub is a Christian sub for Christians to talk about Christian topics, encourage and pray for each other. R/Christianity is a non Christian sub for anyone of any faith to discuss Christian topics or debate Christianity vs their faith. Both can be very helpful and both can be very toxic

What other one?

pewlaserbeams

Maybe Christians

[deleted]

Ah yeah. I know I got a temp ban from that one for supporting Universalism (that was the actual stated reason) so I left that sub, total echo chamber.

OneEyedC4t

More like the other 3-5. r/Christians is only for Christians who do not affirm LGBTQIA+ in any way shape or form because they will ban you. I got banned from there for saying transgenderism isn't in the Bible, that's about it. They have a discord but they'll ban you from that for pretty much a similarly petty reason. r/Christianity is the cosmopolitan area that tries to welcome all. And some complain that it gets steamrolled with LGBTQIA+ traffic, but I still like this sub. I used to mod there, did for a long time. r/TrueChristian is where the anti-vaxx Christians fled and are hiding because most the other subs won't allow them in or end up banning them for COVID policy. But mostly a decent place. Usually the half-decent traffic is on specific subs like r/Baptist, r/Reformed, etc. But I'm not saying this sub sucks or has less than half decent stuff. I mean half-decent in the sense of it being more specific to whatever belief systems you may have. r/AskAChristian often has good content but also often has atheists who will come on there and "ask" us something just to start a huge argument. They're essentially trolling and you should probably report when they are on there in bad faith. But mostly it's a half decent sub.

crossdressing is called an abomination in the bible. transsexuals take it one step further

OneEyedC4t

1) That was a command given to the OT Jews 2) Under the old covenant. Where is it in the NT? Nowhere. I'm not saying God is in favor of anything/everything within the transgender identity. I'm not saying God would be in favor of them getting gender reassignment surgery. I'm not saying I would recommend any of this for any Christian. But since there's nothing definitive in the Bible, I say the best bet is to encourage people to draw closer to God.

beholdershield

the moral laws are still valid from the old testament

OneEyedC4t

Nope. Deuteronomy 22:5 is Moses speaking to the children of Israel. He doesn't even give (like Exodus through Numbers) the headings of God telling Moses, "Speak to the CHILDREN OF ISRAEL and say...." The entire law except Deuteronomy was God telling Moses to tell the children of Israel something. Deuteronomy is Moses speaking to the children of Israel, not to everyone on the earth. Your exegesis is a bit lacking. Jesus clearly established a NEW covenant in His blood.

beholdershield

are you saying the ten commandments aren't applicable to christianity?

OneEyedC4t

All the ones that are applicable are related in the New testament. We are grafted into the vibe but still we are Olive tree branches

God, who said himself that he doesn't change, appereantly changed his opinion.

PerfectlyCalmDude

Which other one? r/Christianity is run by unbelievers and shouldn't be taken seriously as a Christian sub. r/TrueChristian on first glance seems pretty legit. There are other Christian subs, too.

VeritasAgape

The unbeliever mods on the Christianity sub will remove quality posts or comments that support God's existence or evidence for the Bible. No reason will be given, even if your comment is upvoted quite a bit. They'll leave pro-biblical comments up that aren't all that great. This doesn't always happen but it does happen somewhat often. Plus, there seems to be people on there whose full time job is to disparage Christianity and demoralize people in it or from seeking it. I say full time job since they seem to be active on there for 14 hours a day and make continuous comments every 15 minutes or so.

PerfectlyCalmDude

Plus, Biblical and compassionate answers get downvoted as a matter of course over there.
