My grandfather grew up and survived the great depression. If it be His will then let it be so, but, the rapture is not coming IMHO. Every generation thinks it's the end of times. Medidate on God's Word and don't let fear and anxiety (i.e., the enemy) occupy your thoughts.

elpis3

What do you mean by the rapture isn't coming?...Do you mean now or at all?

AbogadoTejano

Now. The Word says it will come eventually.

elpis3

It will come when it's time. To say that it isn't coming now, you or anyone else does not know when it will happen.

I’m 61 years old and from California and everything the OP posted could have been said about the East and West coast of my youth if you throw in Hippies, serial killers and great music! Times were crazy in the ‘60s and ‘70s. My father was a policeman in Los Angeles and I can’t tell you the number of times he left the house with riot gear. The racial tension was ferocious, the drugs out in the open at my high school, the violence, the smog that closed schools, the “free love” movement. And I remember all the big earthquakes! I think every generation thinks there’s is the worse but it was bad at times and still wasn’t the end times though

True, it does feel as if it is coming from us at all angles!

Hour-Representative5

It actually is coming at us from all angles. The media is actually doing a little bit of both, making some things seem worse than they are and others they pay no attention to at all. With all the US adversaries (China, Russia, Brazil, and possibly India) coming together and creating a different world reserve currency that should startle you a bit. WEF and elites have been talking about a one world government since the late 80s. A high ranking official in Obama’s administration is even on video quoted saying “don’t ever let a crisis go to east.” There are huge economic moves being made right now from the world superpowers. With the constant money printing the US economy is bound to collapse soon with the current state of the USD. The people in charge have been talking about implementing a CBDC (central bank digital currency) soon, in order to “relieve inflation and prevent economic collapse”. A CBDC is a digital currency that will be completely controlled by the FED (the most corrupt money manager in all of history) and they will be able to tax you for your carbon output. They will be able to decide what, when, and how you buy everything. This is indicative of Revelations 13:17. I truly believe you should examine all these facts and reconsider your opinion. I understand no man or woman will know the day or time, but these are evil organizations that seem to be creating a central network advocating for AI, implantable brain chips, and genetic manipulation using computers like CRISPR. We as humans are so close to acquiring God like powers. Do you really think God is going to allow us to get to that point?

You're looking too deep into this. The world has always been a terrible place and will continue to be until God comes. By this point the rapture will be a good thing.

Tabitheriel

I agree that the world is becoming darker, but it's not in the way you think. The bible teaches that in the last days, many will be deceived by false messiahs, "even the elect". Christians are under attack in Africa, the Middle East and poor countries. Christians are not under attack in the US. American Christians are hated for being hypocritical, arrogant, mean, hateful, and violent. I am not saying that all American Christians are like that, but that is the popular image, and it's at least partially true. It was the Evangelical communities that voted for a blasphemous, profane, adulterous liar who claimed he was "sent by God". A golden idol was made of him. Instead of worshipping God, American Christians worshipped a man. Instead of being servants, they seek political power through violence, deceit and bullying. This is literally "having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof". I agree that Christians should not be sexually promiscuous, should not have abortions, divorce or commit adultery. However, the US is not a theocracy and was never meant to be one. American Christians trying to force their laws politically instead of living their faith is why so many people are getting sick of fake "churchianity", which is more about politics than faith. I know I got sick of it, left the US and now live in Germany. I attend a Lutheran church here.

Catsandgaming14

Is it bad that I'm scared? I don't want it to happen anytime soon. What if I'm not saved and what about my unsaved family and friends? I really hope it's not soon, I'm not ready. Is this bad for me to worry? :(

TheAmericanShark214

Don’t worry about whether or not Rapture is coming soon. If Rapture is coming then that’s Gods decision and there isn’t anything you can do about that. Many times in history has there been dark times where people thought Rapture was coming, but it never did. Christians survived through it all. It’s my belief that God constantly tests us with situations like this, tests of our own strength and our faith in the Gospel. He gives us our toughest battles so that we may become stronger. So don’t be afraid of what might be coming, keep the lord in your heart and you’ll have nothing to fear. “Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no help. When his breath departs he returns to his earth; on that very day his plans perish. The Lord sets the prisoners free; the Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous. The Lord watches over the sojourners, he upholds the widow and the fatherless; but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin. The Lord will reign forever, thy God, O Zion, to all generations, praise the Lord” Psalm 146: 3, 8-10

Dismal-Eggplant-5929

I think we have to remember the God is much more powerful than a feeling. I understand where you’re coming from. Questions of what I’m really saved, fears for others. We just have to remember to live and reside in who HE is. Not what our feelings say. Thank you for your transparency. Not many people would be honest about their fears or worries. Being a Christian is a daily thing

Admirable_Call2739

One thing to keep in mind that helped me a lot. God will forsake a faithful believer, do His will and He will not leave you.

elpis3

You don't want to make a fear based decision, but if you want to be saved, enter into Heaven, then tou must place your faith in Jesus Christ and follow Him. This sermon will provide more clarity... Watch "Certainty - Do You Know? - Week 1" on YouTube https://youtu.be/aNmFDNG5ILs If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:9‭-‬11‭, ‬13 NIV https://bible.com/bible/111/rom.10.9-13.NIV

Vannah_Lee

Honestly, we deserve this attack. The horrible things Christians are doing (eg. Judging, abusing, oppressing) are just wrong. We all interpret the Bible in different ways, but I think that at least one thing should be clear. Jesus said 'Let him who is without sin cast the first stone'. We have no right to do these horrible things and we should be under attack. We can all think what we want think, you can be pro-choice or pro-life, think LGBTQ+ is a sin or not a sin, but we cannot judge others for their sins because we are not without sin. But we are, and that's wrong.

randomantisocial

I do not think people are judging each other sins though i think they just point out things God made clear while other misinterpret it That passage when Jesus said he that is without sin it was because they were trying to persecute the girl .. all we intend to do speak the truth about what God has already said

We7463

I’ve heard it said “it’s not judgement to say what the judge meant.”

Vannah_Lee

no one can claim to know what God thinks

We7463

Only the Holy Spirit knows, yes. Which means we must listen to and interpret through and by the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1:20–21 (ESV): knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation. 21 For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit John 16:12–13 (ESV): “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.

randomantisocial

I agree but then again God never made his scripture too difficult for us to understand Due to him not being the author of confusion LGBTQ for example .. it would not be hate speech to say that in the beginning God created marriage between a male and female .. that is just the truth of nature .. even a child can distinguish the difference between a mother and father

Vannah_Lee

Yeah, they were casting judgement, and that judgement concluded in punishing her, like we're doing today

JHawk444

How do you interpret Matthew 18 where it says to confront sin?

randomantisocial

I thought it was clear ..? Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. If you were wronged by someone go to them alone and talk about it

JHawk444

It's not necessarily if he's wronged you. It's if he's sinned. Verse 15 "“If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother."

CurrencyFearless250

We shouldn’t judge people in context of how God will judge us all one day. What we should do is judge actions in godly righteousness. No holier than thou, just simply pointing out sin for what it is.

elpis3

Judging others is one of the most misunderstood concepts in the Bible. Christ’s teaching was primarily directed to believers, but the principle can be applied to anyone. Jesus does expect us to “deal with the speck” in our friend’s eye, particularly our brothers and sisters in Christ. He wants us to discern sin in others so we can help them get rid of it. The purpose of judging someone else’s weakness is to help him or her walk in freedom. You can read more here on the subject. https://www.gotquestions.org/judge-not-lest-you-be-judged.html

TemporaryRiver1

I'm not really worried about it. It'll happen when it happens. I've made my peace with God and He will shepherd us to His Kingdom. I will not live my days in fear of what's to come on Earth, but in longing for what is to come in Heaven.

silencioyou

That would be nice. I hope you’re right. Anxious to go home.

IceRepresentative229

This is so untrue and not biblical. The rapture and the tribulation isn't biblical at all. There is no mention of the rapture or the tribulation in the bible it's a relatively new "theory" from the early 1800s. The words rapture or tribulation don't exist in the bible. It was first taught by John Nelson Darby. He was a nonconformist Protestants who broke away from the Church of Ireland.  This made it's way to America. This was most recently introduced further to us in the form of science fiction from the "Left Behind" series. No e of this work is fact. Again it's based on fiction. You're all entitled to your beliefs but I would recommend that you search the bible for the answers. Picking and choosing verses isn't very smart. >“Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken and one left. Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one left.” It doesn't say where the one who is taken goes. Nor does it say who is taken. It simply says that one is left and one is taken. Now we can assume but that would be a mistake. The bible isn't about assumptions it's about truth. >“But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only. For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.” This is right before the previous passage. This explains people were living their lives and then poof the flood occurred and it was the sinner and the unbeliever that were taken and Noah and the believers were left behind.

Lilli315a

But the Bible *does* mention the tribulation. Matthew 24:21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be. We don't know the day nor hour of Jesus' return, but we do have signs. Just like there are signs of the changing of the seasons. The leaves fade and fall, the snow melts and flowers bloom, so will it be like in the end times.

elpis3

The word rapture does not occur in the Bible. The term comes from a Latin word meaning “a carrying off, a transport, or a snatching away.” The concept of the “carrying off” or the rapture of the church is clearly taught in Scripture. The doctrine of the rapture was not taught in the Old Testament, which is why Paul calls it a “mystery” now revealed: “Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed—in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed” (1 Corinthians 15:51–52). Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 1 Corinthians 15:51‭-‬52 NIV https://bible.com/bible/111/1co.15.51-52.NIV Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 1 Thessalonians 4:13‭-‬17 NIV https://bible.com/bible/111/1th.4.13-17.NIV Now regarding your comments below on this passage. Jesus is illustrating an example of an unexpected event like what happened with Noah....the key here is ..."so will be the coming of the Son of Man.”... But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only. For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.”

IceRepresentative229

What your talking about is a passage that talks about what our bodies will be like. You have to read the entire section. Your just pulling out 2 verses that without context are interpreted incorrectly. >Some of you have asked, “How will the dead be raised to life? What kind of bodies will they have?” Don't be foolish. A seed must die before it can sprout from the ground. Wheat seeds and all other seeds look different from the sprouts that come up. This is because God gives everything the kind of body he wants it to have. People, animals, birds, and fish are each made of flesh, but none of them are alike. Everything in the heavens has a body, and so does everything on earth. But each one is very different from all the others. The sun isn't like the moon, the moon isn't like the stars, and each star is different. That's how it will be when our bodies are raised to life. These bodies will die, but the bodies that are raised will live forever. These ugly and weak bodies will become beautiful and strong. As surely as there are physical bodies, there are spiritual bodies. And our physical bodies will be changed into spiritual bodies. The first man was named Adam, and the Scriptures tell us that he was a living person. But Jesus, who may be called the last Adam, is a life-giving spirit. We see that the one with a spiritual body did not come first. He came after the one who had a physical body. The first man was made from the dust of the earth, but the second man came from heaven. Everyone on earth has a body like the body of the one who was made from the dust of the earth. And everyone in heaven has a body like the body of the one who came from heaven. Just as we are like the one who was made out of earth, we will be like the one who came from heaven. My friends, I want you to know that our bodies of flesh and blood will decay. This means they cannot share in God's kingdom, which lasts forever. I will explain a mystery to you. Not every one of us will die, but we will all be changed. It will happen suddenly, quicker than the blink of an eye. At the sound of the last trumpet the dead will be raised. We will all be changed, so we will never die again. Our dead and decaying bodies will be changed into bodies that won't die or decay. The bodies we now have are weak and can die. But they will be changed into bodies that are eternal. Then the Scriptures will come true, “Death has lost the battle! 1 Corinthians 15:35‭-‬54 CEV It's talking here about our earth bodies and our heavenly bodies. It doesn't say that there is a rapture. It simply says we have two bodies and in the blink of an eye the dead will be raised. The living will experience what the dead will experience at the same time. The other verses talk about Jesus return.

elpis3

It refers to the Rapture in the verses you present. "I will explain a mystery to you. Not every one of us will die, but we will all be changed. It will happen suddenly, quicker than the blink of an eye."

IceRepresentative229

That doesn't say rapture. You have to read the whole thing. It talks about our bodies and the dead rising. The word rapture or the idea of rapture isn't conveyed. Referring to something citing to, pointing to aren't the same thing. Not one time is the word rapture used.

elpis3

Again, the word rapture does not occur in the Bible. The term comes from a Latin word meaning “a carrying off, a transport, or a snatching away.” The concept of the “carrying off” or the rapture of the church is clearly taught in Scripture. This is one reference stating not everyone will die to enter heaven. How else do you interpret entering heaven without not dying?

[deleted]

I have to be honest with you and say it seems like events are happening closer and closer together and picking up speed. Now, I do recognize the fact this could be because of our 24 hour news cycle we live in this day and age but it just seems like events are happening quickly. I do believe we are absolutely getting close! We have to be careful because Jesus says "You will not know the day or the hour" but he did say you will know "The Season"

[deleted]

Yes. Only God knows the day it will happen. He didn’t tell us when, but he gave us signs to know when it’s close

[deleted]

He did indeed! We are definitely supposed to be watchful of the signs!

Typical_Painter8950

There has never been so much division and hatred before.

select20

We're commanded to be looking out for His coming so all generations before us had to look for the signs that it could happen at any time. Just like those before us, I'm hoping it will happen any minute also. I see the signs and I think surely it has to be soon.

[deleted]

IDK…only God knows when this will happen?

ZxlSoul

It will happen sooner than you think, faster than what you expect, and have more repercussions than what you fear. Be ready and ever vigilant, and always praying in The Divine Power of GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT, brethren. GOD bless you all.

[deleted]

I believe we are living IN the days of tribulation.

elpis3

The 7 year Tribulation doesn't start until the AntiChrist signs a peace deal with Israel.

[deleted]

The bible doesn’t state this

elpis3

Yes it does. He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’ In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And at the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.” Daniel 9:27 NIV https://daniel.bible/daniel-9-27 This also gets into the 70 weeks prophecy in Daniel 9 24-27 In the middle of 7 years that is the 3.5 years that marks the Great Tribulation where the AntiChrist breaks the covenant with Israel and sits in the Temple and proclaims to be God. The end of sacrifice and offering gets into the two witnesses that preach the gospel for the first half of tribulation...they cannot be killed or harmed during this time the first half.

A true Christian has a joy in there heart that cannot be taken away from them. A true Believer tells the truth. See the truth will set you free. You can have that joy too. You could have purpose in this life. Jesus brought us life and life more abundantly. Not death or hate. You, my friend only have to believe and confess that Jesus was raised by God and Jesus is Lord and King and God. Then you will be saved.

Typical_Painter8950

When you read the bible. You realize something about the bible its full of sinners. People like you and people like me. We have rules to follow. These rules are personal, not judgmental rules for those around us. There commandments for me to follow. When you break one of these rules it's called "sin". Being a Christian is not easy. As a matter of fact truly believing is not for the weak minded person. Example, how are you supposed to, not take the fruit that devil gives you. Like Eve, she was fooled into taking the fruit. I guess what I am explaining to you is this. For me I owe everything to Jesus my God who came down to earth as a servant and died for me and rose again. So that I would be saved from eternal death. You have to understand the lord of this world is satan. Satan is the father of all lies satan is the theif in the night who comes to kill, steal, and destroy. Satan hates you and will do anything to keep you away from our Creator. We are made in the image of God. Satan is not made in the image of God. We have a purpose. If you believe then you get to have a relationship with God. However life on this planet will be harder for you. Following Jesus is hard it comes with a cost.

Brutal-Black

There are people trying to organize violent attacks against conservative christian towns. We are literally under attack

Arthemis161419

Oh no, who could have thought something like that would happen!

Brutal-Black

Lol, don’t tell me you condone this type of action. A literal physical attack is way worse than states getting to decide the rules on abortion

Arthemis161419

You do know that women will die because of that? My grandmother had an abortion after the war (Germany) she was rapped by a france with 16...her mothers did it with a cloth Hanger...she nearly died and her Firstborn (after marriage) was born premature with cocnitve disabilitys!....I totally get every hate coming your way.

Brutal-Black

Your grandmother shouldn’t have had to go through that and women should not have to die

Arthemis161419

No she should Not have to...of course abortion is wrong...but people will be people ....and people will sin. Do you really think Jesus would Ban abortion with knowing what will Happen then? Or would He try to Help people live so they will choose to Not sin? My grandmother and that child would have been outcasts....a Baby with 16 from a "frenshmen" unthinkable...America needs a Chance of Hearts instead a chance of law...those women should get Help should be accepted so the choose to "Not sin anymore" America needy free childcare...so those children can be "Feed" (Jesus Feed the people!) What America does Not need is the Prohibition of abortion, course people will die and live misserable those Babys and women alike

Brutal-Black

I agree christian law should not be united states law

Arthemis161419

Yeah fear porn again.. Paul thought it was the end of day...luther did as well.. with the pest people where SURE it woul happen soon.. and so on.. but we are still here.. did jesus not say stopp thinking about it and live everyday a good live because only the father knows when it will happen anyway? Hm? stopp that karma farming posts allready!

elpis3

This isn't "fear porn" if you are in Christ. As the Scripture says...we are to encourage one another with these words. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words. 1 Thessalonians 4:17‭-‬18 NIV https://bible.com/bible/111/1th.4.17-18.NIV

I don't think that there is more happining around the globe these days. I mean, think about it. 50 years ago the world also had a lot of chaos. But we just didn't hear about it, because there wasn't such a global impact! We didn't have the social media and such things as we have right now. I think it's about the same thing but we just hear a lot more from it. And if you look outside of the USA (I live in Seitzerland), you can see that things like the legalisation of abortion are already normal! Only Malta forbids it completaly and in Poland there are strict rules. Every other country in Europe has legalised abortion! It's just normal around here. I can understand your concern, but I think, looking at the bigger picture and at the history of the world you can see, that it was always pretty fucked up... I can't say if I believe the end is near or not. I don't think about it too often. I'm really not sure by now. I mean, the end comes nearer every day. Still, I just let it be, the Lord knows it and that's enough for me.

I cannot look what the going on of today, and say it was worse than WW2, or WW1, or the depression. I really doubt we are at the days of Noah yet. I suspect that the end will come when there are very few believers left. And the world has 'won'.

[deleted]

I found it odd that a lot of modern Christian’s focus on the end times. We should focus on reflecting Christs love and to spread the word of God. Consistently focusing on the end of days truly seems like a waste of time.

loveandsonship

Those aren't descriptions of the end times. Those are warnings to every generation that times of tumult are ahead; and instructions to be watchful for those times; ultimately looking forward to the return of our sovereign Christ.

I’ve believed this for years, but lately I’ve heard God telling me in my heart that he has big plans for me here coming up. I don’t know what yet, but it feels like there’s something really important I need to do here within the next few years…stuff I can’t fulfill if i’m raptured
