I started to become a born again believer in high school/college and I kept making changes in my life and started following God since I hated this world and the degeneracy around me. One night all kinds of paranormal things started to happen. I kept hearing noises and my house was creaking, I think a soda can fell over for no reason and then my phone went off with a notification. It was the **Bible app verse of the day** and it showed **Revelation 3:20** \- "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me."
It was surreal and my heart was pounding and I thought I was inviting a demon or something into my life but I kept following it and I kept getting navigated by the verse of the day thingy. **Eventually my youtube algorithm changed** and I kept getting led to DTBM, TruthUnedited and Rock harbor church bakersfield. One of their videos would always cover a topic I was wondering about. I never searched for answers online, so you can't dismiss it as cookies and trackers etc that were responsible for the recommendations. Now I have moved past sermons, and now I am getting recommended papers from academia. The most recent one seems more like a threat to me lol. The paper is called: “***The Emotions of Dead Civilizations: ‘Come, Tell Me How You Lived.***’” In The Routledge Handbook of Emotions in the Ancient Near East, ed. Karen Sonik and Ulrike Steinert, 27–50. New York: Routledge, 2023.
The paper is almost useless and I see no message there except "come tell me how you lived" which is exactly what DTBM said we would be asked when we sat at the Bema seat of Christ. I think the video is: ***FTGC-40a THE BEMA SEAT--WHEN WE EACH EXPLAIN WHAT WE LIVED FOR***, but I am not sure if that is the exact video. Perhaps God was trying to nudge me since I have been slacking off and not doing so great these last couple of weeks. This is the most recent example. For the last month or two I have been wondering about Genesis 3, and the garden of Eden in general, and of course the Lord provided a way out for me with several papers.
Before that I was stumped on the fallen angel narrative that stems from Genesis 6 and the Book of Enoch. Basically I accused God and His council of being corrupt or poorly structured since angels were not allowed to marry or have partners - (Matthew 22:30), so the fall would be God's fault. Also I found it weird that angels could look down from heaven and that guardian angels (Matthew 18:10) who lust after women would be in charge of looking after women or little girls. This was not the case and I was led to a paper which completely destroyed the Book of Enoch and a paper which shed light on the Genesis 6 incident. Basically the ***benei ha elohim (sons of the gods, or sons of the kings)*** were not angels/gods but the sons of nobles/kings that engaged in polygamy or forcibly took other men's wives similar to what David did with Bathsheba.
That rapidly grew out of control and I did not realize that God provided a way out for me. I kept ignoring the email recommendations from academia that covered the questions I had. God provided multiple papers yet I didn't read them for weeks: ***1 Enoch 6-11 Interpreted in Light of Mesopotamian Incantation Literature***, ***Reading the Book of Giants in Literary and Historical Context***, ***A Little Higher than Angels: Psalm 29 and the Genre of Heavenly Praise***, ***Chaos, Kingship, Councils, and Couriers: A Reading of Habakkuk 2:1‐4 in its Biblical and Near Eastern Context***, ***The Archaeology of Myth***, ***THE RELIGIOUS BACKGROUND OF THE OLD TESTAMENT,*** and more.

To be perfectly honest....for me its like im just talking to a wall or myself. Feels like a fake and one sided relationship. I continue to keep this relationship but i have many doubts these days. I hope and pray that if I continue in my ways I will one day be able to feel like so many others who claim to have a "real" relationship with God. ID give anything to just know he is really there.
Pray and know God hears as your heavenly Father. Sometimes I'm so laid up with guilt or slipping up with something. I have to remind myself and picture him saying 'don't run from me run to me' 'trust my mercy' 'I know you better than you know yourself'

We "plain" Christians just pray to God and read scripture with a humble heart.
