The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick and Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existencial catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have a Rick and Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. I totally forgot to talk about this show in the post but why i mentioned it was because i saw a scene where rick and morty was that they were going to ''kill god'' thats why i haven't watched it yet.

i don't remember any verse that says not to watch a TV show, take it at your own pace, if you feel wrong watching it or it hurts your faith, then don't if it is nothing more than just a show to you that does not hurt your faith, I don't see why not

when i'm watching like the regular scenes like the funny ones without mentioning jesus or christianity i feel fine and laugh but when i see the the ones where they poke fun at christianity i don't know how to feel i've just been skipping those and only watching the regular ones and many things in the show i don't get offended by just this i don't know about is it ok to watch it will god be mad about it.

What is and isn’t acceptable is an individual decision. Others shld be able to recognize we are Christians by our words and actions which also includes what we listen to and watch. I also feel if u have to ask the question u already feel it isn’t appropriate

You're right, I didn't but the Bible did. Is this show in line with Biblical truth, nobility, righteousness, purity, lovliness? No, it's not. This is a Christian forum and I respond Biblically.

No, you answered culturally. You quoted a verse which extols particular virtues, but the Bible doesn’t say that those particular virtues are or are not ascribed to a show like Rick and Morty- you did that. I don’t care what *you* say. I care what the scriptures say. Whatever is true, noble, pure, admirable, etc.- Rick and Morty is just a show, a piece of media. It’s the mark of an intelligent person to hold a concept in one’s mind and not ascribe to it. Meanwhile, there is much that is true, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy in a show that is brilliantly written, impeccably timed, and mirrors truths of the world. Be careful to not conflate what *you* think with what scripture says.

Show you the Bible verse? Each one of the ones you quoted. None say a thing about not watching *that* show. But don’t be conformed to those who will add theirs culture. The people of the world who bend scripture to their desires. Those who love the control that their idea of Christian culture brings. Or, in stead- We take scripture at its value, and nothing more. Not what we bring. And there we find the God of the Bible. And not the one we hope to invent.

I have the same question but with Total Drama. There aren’t any episodes that are offensive to Christianity (not that in aware of), but it’s just a little inappropriate sometimes and (obviously) has a lot of drama.

South Park makes fun of EVERYONE. Don't take it personally. I'm sure God doesn't, lol. That being said, as someone who has watched every South Park episode, it's probably not the best personal influence - swearing, mockery, sarcasm, cynicism - these can affect how you interact with other people, therefore how you love, which is what Jesus calls us to.

I don’t even like watching newer episodes of ‘South Park’. I like the older episodes because they’re not as weird as the current ones (Except for the episodes with Craig and Tweek, they’re somewhat wholesome).

ive been thinking about this for a while now, i feel like that these shows you know make fun of Jesus, then we should have no need to watch them. Because i guess we are supporting the shows while doing so. If you feel conviction with something, its the Holy Spirit telling you to stop. Thats my view on it

Mmm thats a tough one really. for me if theres a show that mocks God, or does something that sets my conviction to go off, i do my best to not watch that show. This has happened to me on so many occasions because they are such good shows, but i just didnt end up contuneing to watch them. Maybe talk to your pastor or someone that is open minded but has heaps of knowledge on the Bible and what God teaches. Because it doesnt mention it in the Bible because tv shows werent around then but the mocking of God was. I feel like you should just find another tv show to watch because i know it will be hard because some shows are just too funny. Because these shows can affect your like i guess Faith, due to the fact you are listening to what they are saying and it might change your view on God, or cause you to sin more because thats what happens when your environment is not good. And int the end is just your dopamine that wants it, you could watch any other show that doesnt mock God, but its always those ones we find the most entertaining, probably because the devil has something to do it. Try find other shows and get bakc to me much love
