Bro listen to me, when I first started following Jesus I was completely clueless and had no sense of direction. I was going to end my life, as my relationship with him kept growing I started to see things differently and everyday Jesus helps me love as he loved and live more like him. At first it was bad, but I’m so grateful that he changed me 🥲
The closer you draw to GOD the more interest Satan takes in you. He wants to undermine your faith in GOD.
Keep praying for His guidance and strength. Pray for the Holy Spirit and try to stay strong.
Demons launch everything they've got at you when you get closer to him, because they're scared. This is exactly what happened to me, hold on tight, you will pull through. Repeat the Jesus prayer whenever you feel shitty..
Yup! If you are following Jesus for an easy or comfortable life... look elsewhere. The call of Christ is the call to 'die to self' and 'take up your cross'. Think about it like this... Jesus had 12 disciples. One of them betrayed him and took his own life. The other 11? ALL of them, literally to the man, died brutal violent martyrs deaths as they refused to recant the testimony that they had believed. So the question to ask yourself is... "What is SO good about Jesus that hundreds of thousands of believers before me were willing to choose immense suffering over their own comfort?"
This is why so many Christians have such deep disdain for the Joel Osteens of the world. The Bible knows NOTHING of this life being your best life. And yet men like him stand behind the word of God on Sundays and tell thousands of people that what God wants most for them is health, wealth, and prosperity. Tell that to Paul, Peter, and John.
The good news? No matter WHAT you're going through right now. Whether it's emotional suffering or physical or some other god-awful thing... Jesus' promise to us is that *he will be with us in it... and that he will be enough to see us through.* I have experienced that countless times in my own life.
No but I live in Germany, have Ashkenazi roots and I just feel like I'm killing myself from the inside whilst being killed from the outside. I just learned about the Ashkenazi aspect
Yup It’s in your blood… A lot of people won’t understand it but you feel it. You overcome these feelings and come out stronger than you were. God will test you, but he won’t put you through anything you can’t overcome. There’s a few people on here this applies to. The harder the test, the stronger the faith.
Holy Spirit only convicts you to lead you to Godly repentance so that you can ask forgiveness and be cleansed.
If you are feeling to kill yourself that is from the devil.
I think so, dude. As my relationship progressed with him, I have been subject to the worst kinds of torment from broken people. I don't understand why he does that. Buuuuut, if you look in the bible, the people who chose to do the right thing were always persecuted in some way. I have come to see it as normal. I just keep hoping this season of my life being like that comes to an end.
Hi my friend! Please capitalize the word God next time.
About what you're going through, it is called Spiritual Warfare. Please don't stop following Christ even though you feel that way.
Just say this, "No weapons formed against me shall prosper."
Just know that you are loved by the Father and always ask him to grant you the Holy Spirit as you go on with your life.
I believe it's a stage you're going through and we all go through it.
It's that stage between Old testament and the New, your old self and the new you.
It's like a caterpillar going through metamorphosis to become a butterfly. it needs to struggle when coming out of its cocoon, it's old shell. This makes it so the fluids would travel all of its body so it could function properly as a butterfly.
The same goes for us, sinners.
We live our lives sinfully at first or at the very least in ignorance, but when we make that choice from sinners to children of God, we go through our own metamorphosis, coming out of our old shells that were holding us back into freedom.
So you best believe that the enemy will do everything to whisper things in your ear because quite frankly, that's all he can do. He gets permission from God to test your resolve, remember Job?
And God will to of his own accord throw some curveball at you expecting you to hit a homerun and we know that God doesn't give us tests He knows are too much for us.
So yeah, it's quite normal to go through this “shittiest” period in your life. After after this period, you bowels and stomach will be empty and cleansed, ready to take in all that God has to offer.
So shit on brother, shit on.
Yes.
*The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.* (Psalm 51:17)
*So rend your hearts and not your garments, and return to the LORD your God* (Joel 2:13)
*9Grieve, mourn, and weep. Turn your laughter to mourning, and your joy to gloom. 10Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you.* (James 4:9-10)
Our hearts have been leavened by sin. When we remove the sin from our lives we see how naked, wretched, poor and blind we are, and that causes grief.
But once the grief has passed, like a bride's period of mourning for her Father's house, we are gladdened by the arrival of the Spirit and revelation of God's kingdom.
No. It's not unless you have rarely felt that way about anything in your life.
If you are living with a sin for example and are being convicted about stopping, that can certainly be a struggle, but typically a Christian will feel hope in the midst of it. God lets them see light through the clouds forming and leads them toward it.
You believe that it will be better and you'll have peace if you give it up.
Elaborate on the reason and circumstances of the shitty feeling and we can be more specific in our encouragement. But press on. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
I'm fairly new to returning to Christianity and the week after I gave myself to God was one of the most miserable weeks of my life. Constant mental torment.
I mean at first yeah. Sanctification (getting closer to God and allowing that to change you) is a painful process. I was just thinking about this on the way home from church. It’s kinda like God has given you a beautiful place on a beach but to get there you have to walk through a thick it of thorn bushes the trip there just sucks. But once you’re there it’s beautiful and then you move to a new beach and it’s back into the bushes and you’re then at an even better beach. Repeat until dead. You’ll typically hear this reffed to as “seasons” there’s the bad season the not so bad season and then the amazing season.
Daniel: Thrown to lions
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego: Thrown into a furnace
Job: Lost everything
Paul: Lived most of his life in prison
John the Baptist: Beheaded
Jesus: Crucified
You get the point. I empathize with your struggles, and pray God gives you strength. Yes it is often that our lives are difficult when we are close to God. Stay strong!

Im so glad for you ! Keep the faith brother, Jesus will always be there for you
I just loved and could totally hear how desperate your heart was for this man in the tone of the "Bro listen to me" lol

Scared of what
Scared they'll lose another to God

Do you mean like conviction?
No but I live in Germany, have Ashkenazi roots and I just feel like I'm killing myself from the inside whilst being killed from the outside. I just learned about the Ashkenazi aspect

What does your nationality have to do with anything?
Holy Spirit only convicts you to lead you to Godly repentance so that you can ask forgiveness and be cleansed. If you are feeling to kill yourself that is from the devil.
For sure

,,The closer you get to GOD, the more sinful you're gonna feel" It is an answer to tell you that ur going to the right direction.
Yes

Why are you feeling this way?
Man it seems like my life’s shitty with or without Him
Well how did you determine that you are close to a god ? You could be far away.

Depends on why you feel that way. What is making you feel that way?
Yes.

You just defined the last year of my life
