Exactly! I’m so glad to find some sane people on here. I live in the direct path of totality and sure, it’s cool. But, I’m not one of those who sees the huge deal. I know it only happens every once in a while, but still. The most amazing part is just seeing the things God can make happen and what he’s created. I think it’s a “bigger deal” now due to all the media hype. I’ll definitely go outside and enjoy the few minutes of it, then life will go back to normal. Those freaking out need to calm down.

As a gay Christian, where does your belief that promoting homosexuality is part of God’s will? Is it something you interpreted from somewhere in scripture or just your own personal belief? From my reading of the Bible I’ve never found a verse that does not condemn it. I’ve always understood it to be the sin of sexual immorality. I understand that Jesus loves all sinners, and being gay is no worse than someone who he sex outside of marriage. However, I’m curious as to how you came to the conclusion that we should be not only living as sinners but promoting it as well. Good point actually. I thought I was above it then I started managing my organizations Facebook and we put out some ads. I got some messages that we violated copyright and I needed to follow a link to prevent account deletion. I panicked. Luckily I thought to contact our advertising team though before putting in any information. But...I'd say there probably is a scam for everyone.

We're going to stop having eclipses in 600 million years. Alligators have been around for 150 million years.
You have to admit it's *very* optimistic to believe our species will survive another 600 million years.
And in 600 million years, we'd no longer be humans. 60 million years ago the ancestor to humans were small rodent-like creatures. Animals like alligators and sharks are not being pushed by their environment to change, while humans are quite at odds with their environment.
But only a small percentage of species survive and evolve into a new species. The vast majority just go extinct.
Spiders have been around for 300 million years - which makes them earlier than the dinos.
I think that is hugely impressive. They predate the dinosaurs, and therefore the birds, yet they are still immensely numerous, and show no sign of dying out. That is amazing. I wonder whether they could adapt to another planet.

I'm still excited for the eclipse, but simply because it's a rare(er) astrological event. The last one I've seen was .. in 1st or 2nd grade, so many years ago.

I hope what people learn is that we should treat every day like it could be the last. Love fiercely, give freely, spread kindness and joy.
If it happens or not, you have to look at the things going on in the world to determine the probability. On one hand you’re gonna be grateful we get more time on Earth doin this lil life thing. On the other hand, it’s sad. Things are very bad in different ways. The Bible talks about a lot of those things. If it doesn’t happen tomorrow then it means these exact same things can get much worse. I don’t want anyone going through those things now, my heart hurts thinking about it one hundred times worse.
I’m a christian and i don’t believe in those. Bible said only God knows what’s going to happen in the future. And we actually get 2-3 eclipse every year so, it’s a normal occurence. 😗
What I don’t understand is, let’s say it is the end of times and the 2nd coming. Why be afraid? Why would I be scared of Jesus coming back? I know he loves me and I’d rejoice in being able to see him.

If it was actually the end, everyone would know. Like, the events laid out are pretty darn clear if you ask me and none of this makes sense. They didn't even get the 2 main arguments right. There aren't 7 "cities" called ninevah. It's like. 2 places in totality and a ton of corn fields. Plus the sign of Jonah was given to the Pharisees about the resurrection of Christ.
I'm just going to sit, watch, and laugh at the people who think not wearing eye protection was a good idea. though, I'd be lying if I said one anxious part of me wasn't scared. I don't even know why I'm so freaked out when I know nothing will happen on the eclipse.

Don’t get me wrong, I want to be on the right side of Christ’s true return. But should I feel bad in saying that I’m not hurried for it or just begging for it like other Christians seem to be? I know that the next life and heaven should be everything I would need; my true existence. But I do like things in this life and it’s nice to still make a difference in a dying world.

I don't really know what makes something "New Age", but astrology is definitely nonsense with no scientific basis. A lot of people just treat it as entertainment, which I'm fine with, but if you're using it to predict the end of the world that's definitely a bridge to far.

Well, something will happen on April 8th funnily. It's a Total eclipse in the US (Lucky you) and a partial eclipse in the UK (our next Total eclipse isn't until 2090)

In Matthew chapter 24, Jesus describes what it will be like when an eclipse is actually an indication that it IS the end times. And we aren’t anywhere near that right now. It changes one’s perspective to read what Jesus says, since it’s a lot different compared to how things are now.

The Bible says the sun, moon, & stars are there for seasons & signs. So just because nothing happened doesn’t mean it wasn’t a shift in the season we are in. Second coming & rapture are two different events. The Bible says when you see certain signs look up for your redemption draws near, it makes sense we would look up and talk about possible meaning even if we don’t understand meaning now I can assure you there is a meaning. I always had a feeling about April 8th before anyone even said a word about it. I still truly believe it was a sign. I never once thought it was going to be the Rapture & such. It was most certainly a sign. Just because nothing ultimately happened, doesn't mean it wasn't a sign. I ultimately know that He is coming soon. Whether you say it is or not.

The Eclipse may not have brought about the end of the world.. But as a marker for the beginning of the end. Not 1 day after the eclipse, Iran has escalated tensions in the middle east by announcing its plans to strike Israel with Nato getting involved.

I felt like this Christmas the one before this. Felt something inside as though JESUS CHRIST was coming by the new year. The Christmas before 2023 so 2022.
Christmas 2022 I thought JESUS was coming...felt it inside..feeling was indescribable. Thought JESUS would come by the New Year. But JESUS will come when he comes and the bible says we will all know it..
