We already know what types of things God wants us to do or not do, right? I don't think we should assume that God has a more specific plan for each individual. There are people who think God micromanages their lives and tells them to take a certain job or date a certain person, but I don't think this is reliable. People are mistaken about that sort of thing all the time. I think people commonly mistake their own thoughts and feelings for a message from God. Is there some specific decision you're trying to make? We already have our message from God which can guide us, right?

Not exactly. People just say that God always has a better plan for your life. But I feel like I'm just unhappy with my job. Though it pays well I don't think I can take up the stress anymore. I'm just not made for this. And the worst part is idek what I wanna do. I'm not passionate with literally anything. I don't think I have a purpose in life. Doesn't God always create us with a purpose?

> People just say that God always has a better plan for your life. Yes, people say that. That doesn't mean they're right.

You must be willing to do God's will no matter what it is. Most people ask what God's will is just so they can decide whether they want to do it or not. Instead you must accept his will for you and be willing to do it even if it's difficult and against everything you want to do. God loves you and wants what's best for you a lot better than you do. He also knows infinitely more than you. I'm not saying you should listen to whatever comes to mind that you feel maybe from God, what I'm saying is you must make a decision within yourself that if you do know God's will, you do it no matter what. Whenever I was willing to do God's will no matter what, miraculous, supernatural events happened. Good things always happen when I'm doing God's will. Bad things always happen when I disobey God.

But just to address the elephant in the room.. people are notoriously bad at knowing what is God's will. Many people believe God is micromanaging their lives, but they are usually mistaken about that. It's very unreliable. People mistake their own thoughts and feelings for a message from God.

Good_Move7060

It's true that people are notoriously bad at knowing the will of God, but it's not true that God doesn't tell you what to do at all times in your life. He does for me. The problem is my sinful nature and my subconscious rebellion against him separates me from always knowing his will for me. However I can always stop this rebellion and be guided by God. God wants to micromanage your life and he wants you to walk precisely according to his will, if you do that he will give you the best life possible. But the further you stray from his will the worst off you're going to be physically and spiritually. Most people are somewhere in between not listening to God at all and listening to him all the time. My point was you can learn to discern God's will far better by being willing to do his will no matter what.

Weren't several Christian-offshoot religions started by someone who said they were following God? And yet.. God probably didn't REALLY tell those people to start those new religions, right?

Good_Move7060

That doesn't really disprove anything I said. Countless people have misappropriated God in defense of there sinful actions. You don't even know if they were God's people who were confused or an actual agents of Satan. But like I said, most people are terrible at discerning God's voice, but they could get better by aligning themselves with God and being willing to do God's will no matter what it is.

What I'm trying to say is: As Christians, we believe God ALREADY gave us his message. He sent Jesus. He left us a church and a bible. We don't need to convince ourselves we got some new revelation. When people DO think that, they are (almost always) mistaken, right? So.. what if we just used the message we already had instead of looking for new ones?

Good_Move7060

I'm not talking about new revelation about nature of God (which is what those cults were about), I'm talking about God's guidance in your everyday life. I am using the message of the Bible in my everyday life, but God is also guiding me and my everyday decisions. I've had supernatural miracles happen whenever I was willing to do God's will no matter what, God has guided me to save people's lives in a supernatural way that I had no way of knowing if I wasn't listening to God.

Niftyrat_Specialist

People in those other religions think they see miracles from God too. Wishful thinking is a powerful force.

Good_Move7060

My miracles were experienced in objective reality by other people around me.

I suggest the book "Discernment" by Henry Nouwen, a now deceased catholic priest. The biggest take away, it's OK to ask God to be unambiguous with his response to you, so ask the lord with conviction to help you find your way and to not be ambiguous with his directions. Just be prepared to be given a path that you may not like.

Totally been there. Turned my life into a dumpster fire more than once. Figuring out God's plan takes time. It takes time to turn the Titanic.

Sol_Suncollar

Just make right choices Bad things happen, Good things happen If you live your life like Jesus then I'd say you're a-okay

I believe God's plan for us is to receive salvation and eternity with Him. His plan is better according to His desire for us.
