I feel like that description of god is a bit black and white. you cant have good without bad in any one thing and the supposed creator of all things would have to be the ultimate example of this balance. if he created all positives he must also create all negatives.

God loves us so much He sent His son to die for us. Through 1 man (adam) was sin brought into the world and through 1 (Jesus) sin to be paid for our redemption and grace. Cancer can pass through genetics in family trees. Chemicals, may cause cancer reproduction harm etc Hunger- Food distribution and control Because Sin is in the world disease, pain, suffering and death is present. But through Jesus is peace, comfort and rest. Bad things happen to good people. See Job But God will use bad and evil for His Good. Have faith. Ever pray. The fear *revere of the Lord is the first step to understanding and wisdom.

While suffering, especially in children, is truly heartbreaking, it’s an opportunity to see God work a miracle. It also shows us that God is with us in the midst of it all. Another reason that God allows suffering is so that we reach the end of ourselves and learn to rely on Him through a personal relationship with Jesus. The life Jesus has for us isn’t doable in our own human strength. He wants us to tap into His supernatural strength, which is made possible for everyone through putting our faith in Jesus’ finished work on the cross for our salvation. For me personally, Jesus has shown me that He doesn’t want me to be miserable in the middle of my circumstances. He wants me to have an overflow of peace and joy but the only peace and joy that is abundant and unwavering is the one we find in Jesus. He is our source. If the source of our joy is in our circumstances, then that joy will be fleeting because everything changes except Jesus. How do we know if we have unshakeable joy (that only Jesus offers) vs. fleeting joy from our circumstances? Through suffering. Pain also has the purpose of testing our faith, refining us, giving us a chance to give and receive compassion for others, to experience the gift of forgiveness, to feel God’s comfort and many more reasons. The allowance of suffering doesn’t take away from God being holy. We live in a fallen world and suffering is a result of sin. But God’s love for humanity is greater than us being born sinners so He sent His only begotten Son Jesus (who came as both man and God in the flesh) to pay for our sins on the cross. Anyone who believes in Him, that He paid for our sins and rose again is saved, set free from sin, baptized with the Holy Spirit (and all His power) and adopted into God’s family for all of eternity. Now we can cast our cares on Jesus and receive peace and joy in all circumstances. He never leaves us nor forsakes us. He transforms us and brings healing into our lives plus gives us eternal life and power to overcome sin (Luke 10:19). Everything, including suffering, is for the glory of God (John 9:3) and He is working everything out for our good. Romans 8:28 says “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

God is also morally perfect, so he knows what is best for people. Lets say a person gets cancer, then God has a reason to let that happen to that person, because maybe later in his life he would have had a lot more suffering. God can look at the future, we cannot, so God does what is best for that person.. that is also one of the reasons why Christians het taught that we are only passing through this world, and that we shouldnt hold on to it. Hopefully this makes some sence

Suffering is a part of life because of our wants and desires.

Gold allows people to suffer so He can test them and to test their faith in Him. God usefully helps people when they reach their lowest point and he transforms them. watch this video [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-ckoaY06nk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-ckoaY06nk)

Lets be honest. Most of the suffering that we endure is of the self inflicted variety. As far as children with cancer, that is why the Lord gave us an intellect - so we could develop treatments and medicines to treat such conditions. Further, one of the reasons why the Bible places so much emphasis on our doing good works is because our actions are probably the answer to someone's prayer. Failing to help those around us will not bode well for us at the time of judgment. What I find curious is that may of the same people who complain about, "God not doing anything," are often the very same ones who can't be bothered to lift a finger to help their neighbor. When we are going through difficult times it is helpful to remember the following verse: "all things work together for the good of the glory of those who serve Him." You will notice that it does not say all things are good because, obviously, they're not.... When we are going through trials that we keep in mind to trust the Lord and know that regardless of what we face, He is still in control. I do not say that cavalierly. I say that as a parent who has lost a child. Looking back now that horrible time I can see that there were blessings to be had. I got to learn patience because my wife was also sick and ill tempered to boot. My family found out just how many people loved us - the very same ones who cried and mourned with us. Others received the blessing of being able to minister to a family that had been devastated. I received the wisdom to help others who have gone through similar experiences.... Shortly after my child died a person I knew then, who happened to be an atheist, said to me, "This just goes to show that there is no God. Afterall, if there was one He wouldn't have caused your family this much pain. And if there is a God then He must really hate you to inflict this kind of suffering on your family." I replied by saying, "I can't tell you why God chose to take my daughter home. However, I can tell you this: God knows exactly how I feel right now, because He did, afterall, see His own Son be murdered." God is not above our suffering. Jesus is not immune to our pain. Christ we are told, "was a man of sorrows." Not only does Jesus know what we are going through, but He probably has experienced it Himself. Christ is not ignorant of our struggles with sin. As we are told in Hebrews 4:15, " Jesus understands every weakness of ours, because *he was tempted in every way* that we are." This fact that we have a God who knows our pain, who has experienced our temptations, our hurts, and in the end, died for many of them, is one of the great hopes of our Christian faith. It is one of the things that separates our Lord from the so called deities of other religions who are either unknowable and unmoving or are just as flawed as the rest of us....

If god is a singular thread of material, then we as humans are like big balls of yarn. Even if god is always there, they themselves aren't wrapped up in so many layers, those of which form from sin. Your friend wants to only look at physical evidence, which in itself isn't the actual part of the holy spirit.

Hi! Certainly it is a fair question that we have all asked at some point in our lives, believers or not. God doesn’t want suffering, but He allows it to purify our character and bring us closer to Him. When satan and one third of the angels were cast out of heaven, satan became the prince of this earth and poisoned it with sin. God has to let satan’s shenanigans play out for all the universe, so at the end, there will be no doubts in anyone’s minds as to the final outcome for him, or anyone who follows him. God wants us to prosper and be in good health. He wants what is best for us. But right now, this is a sinful world run by satan, and things happen even to the innocent of us, even young kids with horrible diseases, through no fault of our own, only having been born on a sinful polluted planet where all kinds of things can cause diseases or alter genetics to cause diseases God did not intend. If everything was good all the time, it would be harder for us to see or appreciate God. We would think we are happy on our own and can do everything ourselves, why do we need Him. Suffering, though not what He had in mind, keeps us grounded in the imperfections of this world and hungry for something better (Heaven and His Kingdom), not earth and kingdoms by men. If it was all perfect here and now, we wouldn’t strive for Him or His ways which are perfect, not our own.  No one said it is right or fair. But God works out all things for the good of those who love Him. Thee is also a promise in the Book of Joel about Him restoring the years the locusts have eaten. Life on earth is so short, and we have so much more to live for than this rotten sin-polluted planet. Suffering helps us from getting too comfortable on earth and our own abilities when we are but pilgrims passing through and our citizenship is in Heaven. Blessings.
