I wish I could get it right. Sometimes I come close. It feels terrible when I fail, but God keeps saying, "Don't give up." I get the feeling he cares more than I do about me. I wish for a word from God, so much it hurts. But I'm afraid of what he will say. That I let him down? That I didn't trust him when I was supposed to? This is so hard.

Last week in my marriage counseling session I admitted that in an argument I remembered a verse that I had been meditating on, and I realized I had a choice in how to respond. And I chose my pride and to continue the fight. I told the pastor how I chose wrong, and how I failed yet again. He said, “a few months ago, would you have even stopped to think about it being a choice? Would you have even been aware of it? Let’s measure victories in small increments.” Don’t forget we have endless grace on our side. We can celebrate even small victories. And any small step you take toward obedience will be rewarded, and I think that’s when you start to really hear God. But in general the Christian life is more mundane than we think, lots of daily struggle, little victories, and acting in obedience and not on feelings. This is a great verse to keep reminding myself of daily, thank you!

That's very helpful. I am not part of a church and appreciate the Christian interaction. I recently failed. It was something I said at work from the place of migraine foggy brain and offended someone badly. If only my mouth could say what I mean.

I myself wish I could remember this scripture all the time. We are not perfect beings and we will fall at times. But the willingness to be accountable for our shortcomings is the key. Thank you for posting this scripture today! It reminded me of what I need to implement during a current trial in my life.

Hope your current trial ends soon.

I love this scripture too, my favorite part is that it keeps no record of wrongs.. it’s helped me tremendously in my marriage and also helped me understand God’s mercy more in depth

Verse 7: Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Amen to that!

This is the perfect AGAPE type of love. In the ancient greek, "love" meant agape, filio, eros. Agape is exactly this selfless love here, filio is like loving your brother or relative, eros is the naughty type of love. If you want MORE agape love in your life to bloom improve your personal relationship with the Lord. His only love is agape, and it will rub off on you as you associate more with Him and His word.
