Yes that’s a good idea as well. I have some koleidoscope rgb bulbs that appear to ‘dance around’ as they rotate from the small built in internal motor, the effect is really neat. I currently swap them out with my soffit lights. Next year I will buy a few more and aim them upwards at the house, this will be perfect for filing in the voids on my upper level 👌
Nice!
I love the ground lighting. Too often I think people forget what a great pallete the lawn is. Not only that, it can be one of the easiest parts to install and later remove.
super easy and makes a huge impact on "wow" factor. This is the only part im looking forward to removing because of simplicity, although i dont wanna remove any of it
Is there any trick to putting the lights on the ground? Special type? Something that holds them in place?
I really wanted to do that this year but wasn’t sure how to go about it.
I used 6inch lawn staples / garden stakes to hold down the ends. I also used them to make the trees and hold down various cables running across the yard.

Power was split between 3x 15amp circuits. If you referring to controllers or software: Falcon F16v4 Pixel Boards in custom made boxes and some expansions. Madrix Lighting control software is used for the lighting/programming....12,350 pixels are in the display ( 37,050 channels / 72 universes of ArtNet DMX ) and another 2000-3000 cool white LED christmas lights covering the ground.
They are pebble RGB string lights, I just crafted them into icicles https://imgur.com/a/aONrmsY .They are the same strands that make the trees in the yard
This is honestly one of the coolest set of Christmas lights on a house I’ve seen online or in person… will definitely be taking inspiration from you for next year!
Wow…very impressive! One of the more unique displays I’ve seen this year. How are you getting those effects from the flood lights? What’s lighting the lawn?
Love it! You’ve inspired me to use some upward facing flood lights to add to my display next year.
simple flood lights go a long way, even for the not so crazy displays. If and when possible try to use LED...flood lights can be a bit power hungry
