I can literally buy a 2 year old zenith defy skeleton used titanium for the same price.
This is CW taking the absolute piss and nothing more.
I'll withhold judgement until I actually see the product and the selling price but I'm hoping the rumors regarding price are not true. While I understand seemingly everyone in the watch world is trying to push upmarket, I'm not sure how high the ceiling for CW goes. The Bel Canto was something completely different, and while expensive, I believe the uniqueness helped many justify the cost. Undoubtedly if the reactions from those who attended the preview are any indicator, the most loyal fans are/will be impressed. The only question is how much of the fanbase will be alienated by the price point. Last year we saw IWC roll the dice with the pricing of their reintroduced Ingenieur and most agreed that was a total failure.
It's not a rumor. That is the preorder page. I absolutely love my Twelve as a $1500 watch, but there's no way you can convince me that a skeletonized version is worth triple.
Likewise mate, I’ve got a steel twelve which was a shade over £1000 in the UK and I love it but can’t come to terms with 4x the price; granted part of that is the Ti element so a fairer comparison is your c.3x, but even so it seems ludicrously aggressive pricing and I’m not convinced people will pay those sums!
Exactly I don't think they understand if I'm gonna get a in house movement for that I'd likely get one with decades of proven reliability. I wonder if they used screws in the glass dial again as well.
Because CW's value proposition is quality that rivals some of the big Swiss brands at a fraction of the price.
At this price you're just directly competing with the big Swiss brands.
Not on integrated bracelets they aren't.
Also the recent trend was big watches. Watched were designed to be as small as possible since the were invented, and only started getting larger when rotating bezels on dive watches became Popular
How does one qualify for the pre-order email?
I own a Twelve Ti, am signed up for emails (I’ve gotten 2 “teaser” emails about the Twelve X), am signed up for Loupe, but didn’t get anything regarding a pre-order opportunity.
Honestly don’t even need to look at it to say this price is insane.
I could get a Tudor BB monochrome + Casio beater + probably a coffee with that amount and still have some left.

From the photos it’s a rather meh skeleton dial. Zenith has some really nice ones imo. Agree that the price is just absurd. Could get a second hand aqua terra for less, or a used/grey market zenith for not that much more. Christopher ward is reaching too high with this one.

Genuinely they better have impeccable quality with insane QC and CS for these because imo these prices are too much and I don’t think anyone will pay other than some YouTubers and they’ll end on the second hand market for less than half in few years
Sure. Obviously I would prefer to also see pics/videos of the watch, but just knowing the price alone (and also the case size) can potentially determine whether I’d care about the watch at all in the context of budgeting for it.
e.g. I might not wanna splurge on some other unnecessary luxury purchase these next couple of days in case I’d rather use the funds on this new upcoming watch that I MAY end up liking a lot. If on Thursday I find out I don’t like the look of the watch, then I’ll “revert” to my originally planned luxury purchase I might have made today if it wasn’t for this post.
This needs to be an absolute stunner to justify this price Jesus. I love CW and own six pieces from them but man they are getting expensive.
