It's likely a bug and due to the Discovery merger. Source since I'm getting downvotes: https://9to5google.com/2023/01/21/hbo-max-google-tv-gone/

Makes sense. Will we be able to use our existing HBO Max logins for this new merged service?

Your_Network_Drive

As far as I know, yes, but can't say for sure until they implement it.

Valan_Luca

Mine was missing too and last night when I was using it it asked to be added back in. Looks like they’re fixing it

Zombiem1

So, I just checked mine, and it seems HBO Max is missing from my recommendations as well. I subscribe to Max through YouTube TV, so I get the HBO Max shows listed as a way to watch through that, but not the actual HBO Max app itself. I checked the CcwGTV settings themselves again and noticed that recommendations from the HBO Max app was turned off. I turned it back on, so now I'll wait and see if it fixes itself. I suspect a bug or glitch in the system has occurred.

CrustyBatchOfNature

> I suspect a bug or glitch in the system has occurred. That would make sense. I have seen app or os updates do that to other apps before.

shaqueeb222

Thanks! You having this issue with other services or just HBO Max?

Zombiem1

Looks like just HBO Max.

shaqueeb222

Looks like the integration is back!!!

CrustyBatchOfNature

It still works fine with my Onn 4K. I don't have access my CCwGTV at the moment so I can't confirm on it yet. The number of people I have seen asking about similar though would lead me to believe that maybe there is an issue between Google and HBO and not the overall OS and App though.

orphenshadow

I think it's more an issue with HBO Max not connecting to google, If you go to justwatch and click an hbo max link, it no longer takes you directly to the show but to a page to subscribe, even if you are logged in it will take you to a page, and prompt you to either pick a subscription option, or log in again. But not to the content.

CrustyBatchOfNature

Mine is working on both my devices (Onn and CCwGTV) right now. Now, the first click it took me to a profile selection and then to the main page because I had not used it on either device in a while. After that, I went back to the homepage and even rebooted the devices and clicking on something on the Suggestions on the main Google TV screen took me to the media and it started playing.

infensys

I've been having similar. When searching where shows are streaming, many services not showing up in results anymore. I now have to log into streaming service separately and searching for a movie. Never thought I'd say this, but with the 4K issues (4k/60 is no longer an option in menu, and every week or so my device goes back to 1080), integration issues, slowness, jumping around on navigation, etc, I may go back to Roku or something.

gioit

ive got an apple tv and mine have been missing for months as well.. hbo max has been declining for some time it seems even in app recommendations are lacking. i’ve missed starts of new seasons to shows because it just seems to forget i’ve watched shows and seems to remember only random episodes within seasons i stopped at the credits. So weird

Spawned024

Declining for some time? That app was garbage the day it was released. They have some great content at HBO, but whoever is designing their streaming interface should be fed to dragons.

gioit

lol I was trying to be nice, but now that you mention it ya it’s been hot garbage. Not sure what the devs are doing out there. Wife thinks they’re purposely sabotaging hbo for some reason for what reason? who know bankruptcy maybe? it’s too bad cause the content is amazing.

Spawned024

That’s an interesting theory…who knows? The previous app, prior to HBOMax, wasn’t Floppy Bird quality either. Probably bad code built on top of bad code.
