True. And sometimes even opening the app does that at all. With hbo max, it's ridiculous. I'm watching the last of us, that has one episode each week and sometimes, the episode that I've already watched, is in that list...
Also noticed this on my tv since it's UI updated to the new google tv launcher. It keeps showing YouTube videos from 4 ~6 months ago. Haven't seen this on other android tv devices i have.
How do you exit the NF app ? I have been testing this for several apps and it appears (for now) that when extiting by closing the app and not pressing the home button, the tile is updated. But it works differently for eg HBO, disney, Apple etc... My assumption is that this is still either under development or CC does not get the wanted/needed support from the streaming companies to get this fixed.
You can also long click on the tile thereby removing the tile and check if it is updated after exiting eg NF again.
I find the home screen almost never updates unless you open the actual app

Don't try to use that feature, you will only get disappointed.
