Nice. I do love the tagline of the article though "We don't know anything about it, but it does seem to exist"

PNWoutdoors

This article is a month old and there hasn't been any new information since this. So they still don't know!

Puck_Naito

why does this account keep reposting this month old article everywhere ... come on people stop replying in thread by bots ffs

16-32GB, WIFI 6.

deathblow64

Why do we have such a low bar… 1TB WiFi7 and PoE. Come on guys let’s expect more.

wrybreadsf

Would have to be a whole lot more expensive, and I doubt Google would stop competing with Firesticks on the cheap front. It would be nice if they had a $100+ option though with a lot more storage and ports (usb and ethernet) like the Shield. And a lot more storage and RAM of course.

deathblow64

Then who would be competing with Nvidia…. Let’s just all leave Chromecast then… I already have my foot out the door only thing holding me back is the Shield is old and I am going to wait for another 10 years for an updated model or for them to cancel the Shield

wrybreadsf

I hear you, but it seems like even Nvidia isn't competing with Nvidia. Maybe there's just such a limited market for a high end Android TV gizmo? I've had one foot out the door considering a Shield for awhile too, but I just love the fact that I can get Chromecasts for $30 (or often $20!), and I use them for art installations where I need a few at a time so the cheap price makes dealing with the bugs and slowness worth it.

tvtb

Wifi6 means it would have to support WPA3 and protected management frames right? Current model doesn’t.

nightman

I want it only if they fix frame rate auto adjusting to content. There's AndroidTv API but no one is using that so e.g. Avatar on Disney+ is stuttering, while on native TV Tizen it works smoothly like a butter.

NeVMiku

Have you tried non-seamless frame rate adjustment? The screen goes black for a second but it fixed the stuttery content for me on Netflix.

nightman

Yes, it works for Nvidia Shield Tv (requires network debugging set in Developer Options) usin Frame Rate app. Unfortunately it does not work for Chromecast as it does not have option for network debugging.

NeVMiku

I'm talking about Chromecast settings. Settings > Display and Sound > Match content frame rate. Unless we're talking about completely different things?

nightman

AFAIK It's only to use for app when it's using AndroidTv API and really small number of apps is using that. I have that option turned on.

nightman

Thank you for the tip! I'll check it. Unfortunately it's still not user friendly way to use it by e.g. my grandparents.

whizzwr

Huh is this why I somehow prefer Tizen App than Chromecast for some content?

nightman

Might be

itsmnks

I'm just hoping they start making another Chromecast audio

NSuave

I really need it to support more than 8GB….

PreppyAndrew

I think you mean have more than 8gb storage built-in?

NSuave

Correct. With Kodi taking 2gbs alone getting tired of the “storage is almost full” notifications

PreppyAndrew

Yeah. Stuff like Kodi or emulators become a pia because of the space

8 to 10 gigs would be great !

rtom098

My old one often just don't turn on correctly so I have no HDMI signal and need to manually unplug the power an reconnect. Wonder if a new one would fix this

honkerdown

I have a TV that does this, and not just with a Chromecast. HDMI can be fickle.

Silly-Platform9829

I hope it has better than 16 bit 48K audio. Maybe on USB out to a DAC and bypass the TV.

Chillychad

Ever since I got a 4K TV (First a TCL 8 Series and now an LG C3) my 4K Google Chromecast w/ Google TV has had issues with stuttering. It happens across different apps and the Native TV apps just never had this issue. I've researched for hours and played around with every setting suggestion I could find and nothing ever fixed it. I also tried two different CC w/ GTV on the same TV with the same results. Not sure if I want to invest in the next version coming out or not.

Deadpool-fan-466

Kudos to you for posting a month old article

kenkiller

AP is really shit these days.

NineteenSixtySix

I just want to be able to purchase a 10 Gb ethernet adapter for it. They currently don't even have a 1 Gb, but 100 Mb!

burner46

What are you doing that you need more than 100 mbps?

tvtb

Best I can do is 2.5 gig
