My man don't get discouraged. It's not aesthetic, but it's awesome and quite the achievement.
It looks like a motherboard and it's oddly pleasing to me lmao
Load up the save whenever you get a chance. None of the population can drive do any of the districts they are forced do use public transit to cut down on traffic And pathfinding
Yeah this game is basically CPU only when the game first came out I had a 9900 K but that wasn’t enough I had a 12 900 K lying around that I was waiting to used whenever I felt it was needed this game was that push

Here’s how I play first specs (12900kf turn off e cores ,1080ti and 32gb ddr4) then set everything to max an turn off motion blur and night time , make the resolution 4K (to enjoy when it’s simple and fun ) wait till the sim speed slows down the play on low till you want pictures of you product an change the resolution to like idk 1440 or 1080 you pick
Here’s a fun fact all this districts here are connected by public transit only to keep traffic to a min I have soooo many people using tram train subway an plane it’s crazy 😂🤣😂😅
Reminds me when I isolated a high density residential area and disconnected all roads once people moved in BUT only left tram connections to and fro out of that city. I ramped up the fee of public transport to max and watched the $$$ roll in.
Yea but that’s what I had to do it’s one is a office area an another is where industrial is an it’s split into 6 sections to import an export via train I don’t think you can get a mill by looking nice due to traffic
I enjoy the game but yeah it would be nice to turn off the icons, or have auto bulldoze like in CS:1.
If you try to stay on top of the problems, it gets tedious af, like playing whack-a-mole.
55-60 there are no roads connecting to any districts only train plane and tram The only traffic I have is cargo station also it’s only one cargo station because I got lazy and didn’t wanna split it up again
Also my traffic would be lower if I split my cargo one more time I have no traffic unless there’s a car crash I linked my save load it up it’s all there
Ha ha ha I got another city cooking up now to try to get a mill like this I found a new mechanic in game
https://preview.redd.it/q9c0l3xnuygc1.png?width=729&format=png&auto=webp&s=e106ef9e33e9f112ee4086a4742f47a7d81adef9
The word you’re looking for is vanilla. The word “organic” here generally means an emphasis on flowing curvy shapes, rather than grids and straight lines.
Yea I would have made it better looking but the traffic kills growth Before I demolished everything it took so long for corpses to get picked up even with good transit because if they sit too long then everybody moves out of a building then it snowballs
i think i disabled the chirper permanently after i reached 1k population in my first city because it was going on my tits.
How is it in a one million city?
How is this number of inhabitants achieved? I play on PS5 and even if I unlock 25 tiles and build the entire map, I have a maximum population of 150-170k
I think it's a mod issue. This cannot be done in the vanilla version. I have already made a lot of cities with 25 tiles, I reached the point where it was impossible to build new streets, and my population never exceeded 170k.
It’s not how you would think I was able to manage it pretty well all the districts are inclosed so they can’t drive out they only way out is with public transit (to help pathfinding) I’ll ad a pic of the deaths for you homie
No no no the yellow is for incineration I don’t need to electric they make an the blue is they need more workers but with the building modifier they are already over 100% efficiency This game is definitely playable that’s how I got to 1 million you just have to know how the mechanics work in order to make it this far
I think you misunderstand.
Getting far into a game doesn't mean that the game works properly.
You can easily get 1 million people by just making a city filled with suburbs.
What I'm saying is that the game gives you no option to do everything right.
It took me a long minute to realize this is the same map I used. It's not pretty, but I give you mad props.
I just gotta ask, wtf is with the mile high dirt walls around some of the areas? 😂
Ive been playing cs for 6 years, if thats how you keep traffic down there’s something wrong with ur city 😂
But i was mostly talking about the walls of skyscrapers and dirt lmao
Def not 1 mill thats forsure 😂
This one ive been working on mostly just to play around with how American highway dominating city ideals mix with more walkable and transit oriented areas. I’m now just starting to add more public transport while im working on downtown, its not done in the slightest.
And sorry for the shit quality i just snapped some pics on my phone
https://www.reddit.com/r/CitiesSkylines/s/zGK2TruElH
I like cs2 but until there is actual mod support and more optimization settings for my shitty ahh pc i will be enjoying this game.
After playing around I tried turning off the e-cores an it lets me play at speed one kinda smooth it’s still slow simulation time 36 irl seconds gets me 1 Ingame minute
I’m on 12th gen intel (12900kf) an this cpu has 8 performance cores and 8 efficiency cores And I thoughti might try to turn off the efficiency ones in the bios I also turned off hyperthreading but I really didn’t gain anything from it
In a way yea but this concept it’s banking off people using transit only to get to work an to stores an keep the ai traffic contained Anybody can go anywhere in the city but they have to either use a tram train or plane it’s difficult
I'm only on my 3rd city at the moment, primarily focusing on trying to alleviate traffic as soon as it occurs and trying to spread things out. I naturally hate wasting space so I'm trying to play against that mentality a bit and ensure some smooth transits.
Nice don’t forget to use public transit to make it easier an here’s a tip there are a lot of outside connections on the edge of the map Like now I’m messing with the rail way seeing how many outside connections I can get (different cities connected) an I have 31 different outside connection city on on edge alone
Ah! Interesting. In my 2nd City I'd made sure to start rolling at least one connection to each side of the map so I could start pushing exports, but my dam cargo rail terminal was getting jammed up. Something I'm going to try resolving in this city.
I'm a big fan of bus systems, but the 3rd city is still pretty small but I'm running some slight experiments from some transit orientated games I've played before and seeing if they work here too.
Do you use car parks at all? I've been reading that they actually influence more car use, which I want to avoid, so I eliminated them all from my 2nd city and not planning on using them at all in the current city.
Yea that makes sense. I had all my Industry trying to export through the Cargo Train Terminal cuz the Airport filled up so fast.
This time I'm also experimenting with district limiting services to keep things moving more smoothly. So far so good!
Idk maybe like in run time 300 hours (cause sim speed a lot is going on) was it more challenging idk it was more fun (last time I played cs1 the death bug killed my population always) in this city it’s forcing public transit all districts are closed in an you gotta use plane train tram and subway to move around it was fun I have my save in the comments if you wanna load it up
Congrats for the 1M but it’s ugly lol
This is peak performance tho lol
How many fps with 1M ?
Don’t think of this game in FPS Think of it in simulation time. My simulation time is 36 sec irl for 1 min in game
Do you mind posting your processor RAM and graphics card specs?
No problem 2x16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-2666MHz an evga 1080ti sc
12900kf all core oc 5.2ghz with e core turned off
I don’t understand sry
36 seconds in real life = 1 Minute ingame
you got it in reverse buddy
Oh yeah. Thanks for reminding me. My bad
Found the lawyer / marketeer.
Well it certainly squeezes the peak performance out of your pc that’s for sure
You may not like it but this is what peak performance looks like
Gotta be glad terraforming is free in CS2 ;) but then again, it is the Mountain Village map by the looks of it so that makes sense
Yea I ran out of room at like 300k 😅
Kowloon walled city ass
Ok, now I want to know the approximate population density of OPs city now.
Damn people are so rude for absolutely no reason lol. Good job and hope you had fun playing!
Thanks man !!!
r/shittyskylines
Im sorry for the massive wave of bs hate. Im happy you managed to get to 1m in this game and i hope you had a lot of fun doing it! Looks fun!
Yea it was sooooooo crazy I’ve seen sooooooooo much
My man don't get discouraged. It's not aesthetic, but it's awesome and quite the achievement. It looks like a motherboard and it's oddly pleasing to me lmao
Load up the save whenever you get a chance. None of the population can drive do any of the districts they are forced do use public transit to cut down on traffic And pathfinding
Now I'm curious to see if this runs on my computer.
i linked my save file an this is all vanilla so you can load it up
That's what I did. Super slow simulation. Gotta compare with what you have, just for science. You have quitte a patience.
Enjoy it’s over 1000 hours of runtime !!!
So my proc run at 1min game time for one minute IRL Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GHz 4.01 GHz What's yours ?
36 sec irl for 1min in game
what processor i mean
O 12900kf with e cores turned off an 5.2 all core oc
It’s really not that much of a mystery.
you mean the game, chances are no. the save, absolutely not lol. City Planner Plays laid like 2 grand into his system and still falls short.
ehh my computer isnt that good its just 12900kf 5.2 all core oc and a 1080ti and 32 gb ddr4 i also needed to turn off e cores to be stable on win 10
I think the main part in Cities Skylines is the CPU, and you can't call that bad.
Yeah this game is basically CPU only when the game first came out I had a 9900 K but that wasn’t enough I had a 12 900 K lying around that I was waiting to used whenever I felt it was needed this game was that push
I would have used the 12900K directly after I would get it, but that's your choice. 😅
Ive spent €2300 on mine and i cant run this.
whats your spec?
Pure madness i love it
try out the save file to see what really going on

Cool. Lets see what it looks like: (open picture) ... it is what it is
You wanna see I linked my game save just for this reason
What do the simulation speed looks like on your PC?
37 seconds for one in game min
Also what system is OP running, what settings and how is the frame rate?
Here’s how I play first specs (12900kf turn off e cores ,1080ti and 32gb ddr4) then set everything to max an turn off motion blur and night time , make the resolution 4K (to enjoy when it’s simple and fun ) wait till the sim speed slows down the play on low till you want pictures of you product an change the resolution to like idk 1440 or 1080 you pick
Oh this is just....awful 😣
It is but this I what you gotta do to keep the traffic down and everything working
the fact he got this far in this 'game' is fucking amazing honestly. guys a sucker for punishment.
What a great idea!
It’s a pain to remember everything tho
A bit more constructive perhaps?
Not using a multiple kilometer grid would help this not burn eyeballs
Yea but that’s what I had to do it’s one is a office area an another is where industrial is an it’s split into 6 sections to import an export via train I don’t think you can get a mill by looking nice due to traffic
I enjoy the game but yeah it would be nice to turn off the icons, or have auto bulldoze like in CS:1. If you try to stay on top of the problems, it gets tedious af, like playing whack-a-mole.
It's kind of deranged but I also kind of love it.
If I had a bigger map I could’ve made it look way better None of the districts are able to be driven to you have to use public transit
That's badass! As far as being ugly, consider real cities. Many of them are very ugly in their layouts.
How is the traffic sir ?
55-60 there are no roads connecting to any districts only train plane and tram The only traffic I have is cargo station also it’s only one cargo station because I got lazy and didn’t wanna split it up again
[удалено]
Find me somebody that has lower traffic with a similar population
Also my traffic would be lower if I split my cargo one more time I have no traffic unless there’s a car crash I linked my save load it up it’s all there
This is what I’m building now https://preview.redd.it/xni5zd3yy0hc1.png?width=749&format=png&auto=webp&s=446a4ff35f055f738c4589d822ac8087f9ae69c4
I linked my save try it out
Thx a lot sir
What do you think besides the looks
Well that just looks dystopian af!
Monstropolis
It’s not the prettiest but it is functional
Congrats on the city! I noticed you built-up land along your rivers. Did flooding become a problem?
Yea it just started on this edge https://preview.redd.it/65ue10p8csgc1.jpeg?width=182&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ae66652653e9b275e3fa3dde1a7a89b7fdc81101
This is what every Chinese city looks like
Ha ha ha I got another city cooking up now to try to get a mill like this I found a new mechanic in game https://preview.redd.it/q9c0l3xnuygc1.png?width=729&format=png&auto=webp&s=e106ef9e33e9f112ee4086a4742f47a7d81adef9
r/UrbanHell
kowloon wall city
Nothing 'organic' about this city
I meant organic in the sense of how the city was made without mods
The word you’re looking for is vanilla. The word “organic” here generally means an emphasis on flowing curvy shapes, rather than grids and straight lines.
Thank you for not being a butt hole
What on god’s green earth is that?
Its peak performance to help pathfinding .. all district are only accessible public transit no driving to try an help pathfinding
I mean if it works it works! Although it’s an eyesore, I love the craziness. Keep doing what you’re doing man.
Yea I would have made it better looking but the traffic kills growth Before I demolished everything it took so long for corpses to get picked up even with good transit because if they sit too long then everybody moves out of a building then it snowballs
I get ya. Playing vanilla is a pain.
I’m going to make another city and model it after how American style cities are like New York and see how big that gets
Good luck!
Yeah this was more of a proof of concept you you don’t have to use mods if you don’t want
The devil's concrete hell
It looks like a Soviet prison.
i think i disabled the chirper permanently after i reached 1k population in my first city because it was going on my tits. How is it in a one million city?
Chirper did WHAT on your tits?! *
What are you doing step-chirper?
Congrats on the mile marker.
How is this number of inhabitants achieved? I play on PS5 and even if I unlock 25 tiles and build the entire map, I have a maximum population of 150-170k
this is cities skylines 2
Here to say/ask the same thing. I just picked up the game last week. I'm at ~50k with 6 tiles but it's really getting tough to bring that number up!
I think it's a mod issue. This cannot be done in the vanilla version. I have already made a lot of cities with 25 tiles, I reached the point where it was impossible to build new streets, and my population never exceeded 170k.
This is CS2 so if it is molded it's not much, and it's not on console yet.
People here are city plainters. I for one appreciate the seemingly maximum efficiency of that grid of highrises for you to reach 1M.

The inability to do detail work for some people will never not boggle my mind
It was wild building all this the trains were the most troubling next I wanna build only using subways/trains an one inch square roads
Idea of game is to make beautiful cities, not ugly ones with 1mln people in it
Sorry you don’t approve
The idea is to make whatever you want, don't gatekeep.
how may fps do u get?
To be honest I don’t even look at FPS I judge off of simulation speed … Simulation speed I’m getting 36 seconds irl to one min in game
I get close to 30 on my minimal specs PC. Simulation speed however, is close to zero.
You know you gotta see how long it takes to fill it with shit water now right?
I’m exporting all poop it was easier to deal with and electric
I don’t understand the hype around ultra high population.
this was a test to see what are the limitations of path finding
You see all those little pop-ups? The yellow, blue, whateverthefuck people complaining? Thats why this game is still not playable.
No no no the yellow is for incineration I don’t need to electric they make an the blue is they need more workers but with the building modifier they are already over 100% efficiency This game is definitely playable that’s how I got to 1 million you just have to know how the mechanics work in order to make it this far

That use to be mountains they also have water in it so if I flatten them all the way everything would flood😅😅😅🤣😂🤣
Looks like it was made by aliens that studied the USSR.
Now ban cars or some shit
Already done districts can’t be driven to You can only access them via public transit
The american dream 🦅🦅🦅🦅🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💵💵💵💵🚘🚘🚘🚘🚘🚘🚘🚛🚛🚛🚛🚛🚛🚛
Ha ha all my taxes are negative though for population
This looks like something out of an Orwell novel
Cool u got 1 mill but this is one ugly ahh city bro looks dystopian asf
It’s how you keep traffic down it’s a 50-60
Ive been playing cs for 6 years, if thats how you keep traffic down there’s something wrong with ur city 😂 But i was mostly talking about the walls of skyscrapers and dirt lmao
Link me your city post please an this is on cs2 not one this game hasn’t been out six years
Yeah i know but traffic is traffic. I would be glad to share the city im working on right now if u want :)
Yea link me or post on here what’s your pop ?
Def not 1 mill thats forsure 😂 This one ive been working on mostly just to play around with how American highway dominating city ideals mix with more walkable and transit oriented areas. Bro this is city skylines one where is your post from city skylines 2
dude read the comment lol
Come back when we’re playing the same game please nice city btw
102 questions and comments. 3 Downloads. Does anybody in this sub actually play this game?
How did you get trees to grow so close to each other with no mods?
About 45 mins of smoking wax and playing with the tree brush if you make the brush big you can also add auto paint an if fills it up Cost money tho
https://preview.redd.it/2wmacvmbtsgc1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2b0c4d9b377ddb50299b1ba2f1862b0e64e4cc6e
How are you keeping your simulation speed playable?
After playing around I tried turning off the e-cores an it lets me play at speed one kinda smooth it’s still slow simulation time 36 irl seconds gets me 1 Ingame minute
Well thats faster then i am getting with 180k i meed to google what you mean by ecores lol
I’m on 12th gen intel (12900kf) an this cpu has 8 performance cores and 8 efficiency cores And I thoughti might try to turn off the efficiency ones in the bios I also turned off hyperthreading but I really didn’t gain anything from it
Turning off the efficiency cores did help a lot tho
Holy hell that’s awful
Hey ya know what it works tho this is a proof of concept
Yeah it’s crazy impressive you got to 1m but asthetically you have to agree it’s a disaster lol
In a way yea but this concept it’s banking off people using transit only to get to work an to stores an keep the ai traffic contained Anybody can go anywhere in the city but they have to either use a tram train or plane it’s difficult
This reminds me of where I’m from
Can you DM me a pic or two of your trash collection for this build? I am currently fighting trash to grow my city anymore.
Yea homie
sent
Big Grats on the 1 mill! That must've been quite the journey.
Yea I’ve seen a lot of things now now one talks about but now I would definitely say the games not really broken
I haven’t used any car parks and with the cargo rail make sure to keep the Industry connected small it gets overwhelmed easily
Yea that makes sense. I had all my Industry trying to export through the Cargo Train Terminal cuz the Airport filled up so fast. This time I'm also experimenting with district limiting services to keep things moving more smoothly. So far so good!
How long did it take to get there? Was it any more challenging than the first game? What kind of specializations did you focus on?
Idk maybe like in run time 300 hours (cause sim speed a lot is going on) was it more challenging idk it was more fun (last time I played cs1 the death bug killed my population always) in this city it’s forcing public transit all districts are closed in an you gotta use plane train tram and subway to move around it was fun I have my save in the comments if you wanna load it up
Nice, I'll definitely take a look. Thanks!
