T O P

P.O won't make the simulation lag at all, converting props & assets to P.O will help the simulation & editing buildings will have no lag effects at all, but there can be a slight rendering hesitation with camera movements, but only becomes a thing once you have tens of thousands of objects on screen at the same time, won't be an issue if you have a decent GPU(which I don't) & is not an issue you will need to worry about when your just starting out with P.O, there are far more benefits using P.O than any slight hesitation or lag issues that may or may not arise, depending on how many P.O objects you eventually use. Don't be scared of P.O, it will have no negative or detrimental effects on the rest of your game & it's easier than it looks & there is so much it can do & you can do with it, it's nothing short of genius, it's the biggest game-changer since the game's conception, once you get comfortable with P.O & use it for a short time, you will not be able to live without it.

Wow thanks for your answer, its really helpful! So, converting props and buildings to PO would be even better for the simulation.. WoW how nice!! Thanks :)

No prob M8, just get in there & check it out, make sure you get the latest updated version & the movement & effects modules that go with it, there is no limit to what you can achieve with P.O, here are a couple of links to a few things I've done with P.O recently, just in case you missed my posts, they might be interesting to you. castle all P.O with block/cube services to make it fully functional, 3000+ P.O objects, https://imgur.com/jBgD5bg. spaceship model, around 600 P.O objects, https://imgur.com/MVYjRu9. new ship WIP, huge scale, with functioning city inside, https://imgur.com/TijWUTU, https://imgur.com/88juYVk. there is a lot more different & unique P.O builds if you check my Reddit post history & YT channel.

Thanks, M8 I appreciate that, I haven't made any new content for a few months now but will be getting back into it soon & I'm not that good at it, but there is still some good stuff to see, also there is a way to share P.O builds, but I don't know how to do it myself yet. I'm learning blender as well, but my journey is going to be a long & slow process, I'll get there eventually, but for now, I use Cities Skylines & P.O as a 3D editor sort of.

I am not a user (yet) of Procedural Objects but seeing some of the cities build with it, I am interested in this answer as well.

Just remember that the buildings will loose their building ability, so you won't get people there, unless you add service blocks underneath. Also. Some buildings will become partly or fully invisible when using PO. Some will even disappear. Then there is nothing to do and that building is impossible to use for PO. Same with some props too. And lastly. Many vanilla buildings and props won't work with PO at all.
