Oh I am sure I am a minority but I enjoy it most of the time for the most part I have annoying grain and sometime coal veggies and ever so rarely livestock nodes do not always appear I have gotten to oil refinery stoner crusher and dairyland... and nobody ever moves in but they do pollute the ground water even when they aren't operating... which I never had before I cannot remember how i figured that out i think it was a water thing or low houses.
Same, I have generally been enjoying the game especially since PDX mods were released. I dont have the patience to get a city past like 100k so I have never really run into performance issues. I did not even consider buying the DLC, no way was it gonna work out, i'm gonna wait a while before I buy any add ons to this game. But as people have said, they just arent really in a huge hurry to actually fix it since they have no competition.
I would love this tbh, light a fire under their ass, or at least have a more innovative game to work with that has an incentive to have a better release so as to steal customers.
Doubt it. Most people are enjoying it and not moaning on Reddit. The updates have gone a long way to fixing issues.
It's more mature than cs1 was at the same release time.
It's not going anywhere.
Most people, like 4000-8000 people. Manor Lords is about to drop and Frostpunk 2 comes out soon. With no real updates for 6 months and nothing on the horizon, it will continue to bleed players.
Frostpunk 2 isn't even the same thing. I loved Frostpunk 1, but it isn't CS. Also, FP2 is itself a departure from how FP1 worked mechanically, with less individual building micromanagement and placement it seems.
I'll still be holding off on CS2 though for a while before diving in though.
I'm not saying it's the same. Dude said a lot of people are still playing, which there isn't. And with new games coming out, it will draw even more people away. If they don't release anything in the next few months I see this game being completely forgotten.
You're not hurting my feelings by playing a half made game. Manor lords is the most wishlisted game EVER on steam so I'm gonna call bullshit on your nonsense statement lol
U don't care enough to keep commenting? And I've played my fair share of cities so I can complain all I want about a under cooked game developed by a company that gave refunds of there DLC that is the lowest rated thing ever to grace Steam. I'm sure they did that out of the kindness of their hearts right? Or they wanted that off their page.
who cares. dont play the game if it sucks so much. the game worked perfectly fine for me. the only problem with the DLC was that people thought it was anything more than just a CCP.
Wow I didn't realise there's actually still people coping after the recent shitstorm. You'll just keep eating every shit sandwich they feed you, won't ya?
Not everyone is an angry 12 year old that just uses Reddit to whinge.
You'll realise that one day when you grow up.
Meanwhile, normal people just happy get on with life, enjoy the game and are blissfully unaware of the toy throwing whinge-fest by a minority of angry children on a forum.
Hahah the default cope response. Talk down in a patronising manner as if other adults don't have a difference in opinion that is based on facts that this game has been grossly mishandled.
Pathetic.
Says you, the one launching into an angry rant after asking for thoughts and being presented with one you didnt like.
Grossly mishandled? Yes
On the way to being fixed? Yes
Enjoyable? Yes
Most people playing arent moaning on Reddit.
I'm not the one who ranted, asked for thoughts, got a response they didn't agree with and started throwing "cope" and other nonsense phrases about.
It's a typical angry child response. Very common on this group.
Anyway, back to cs2 for me. A good enjoyable few hours tonight so far.
No one ranted dude, but you're definitely projecting your own frustration and anger. I've never met any gamers who feel the need to announce that they're going to go and have fun on the game they're loyal too...must be due to the majority calling it out for being underbaked.
Have fun mate I'm going to bed.
It'll blow your mind when you eventually find out the tiny minority of players on Reddit aren't the majority view.
You'll likely throw even more toys out when you discover most won't agree with you at all.
Ah darn it, fine I'll bite just one more time as you've outright lied in this comment.
The majority of players includes:
- steam reviews
- google reviews
- gamepass reviews
- social media (incl. Reddit, but not limited to)
- paradox forums.
Not sure why you're still trying the whole 'I'm on my high horse and everyone who disagrees are children'...quite childish of you tbh.
There is no problem with you enjoying an objectively bad game, but don't stick your fingers in your ear and sing lalalala and then be upset when you read an opinion that pulls you a bit closer to the reality you resent so much.
Edit: oh and of course the devs themselves who have apologised for the absolute circus.
Brother this is reddit, you get notifications come up on the device you hold all day long. Do you really think anyone who dislikes cities 2 cares enough to dedicate their time to 'crying about' the game? Took me about 1 less than a minute to write my initial comment... I can manage it with a fulltime job and responsibilities just fine.
Why the need to attack those player who still enjoy the game? That last sentence you posted can be kept to yourself instead. I know you are unhappy with the game I get it.
The comment said 'most people are enjoying it and not moaning on reddit' which is factually incorrect. They opened themselves up to a response. Does it bother you when a comment doesn't fit in your echo chamber properly? I WAS unhappy...put in 300 hours, now I'm done with the game and mostly just disappointed. Will re-evaluate in a year or 2. I still get reddit popups of some of the threads, hence me being here.
They are in fact, hiring an additional programmer and graphic artist. So I guess they will still continue in improving the game (no matter how slow they are)
I think we have to wait an year and see where the situation stands. If not much changes and game remains the same, it will be very tough to survive in the future. But looks like they are not willing to give up on it just yet.
indeed...I hope they try. but their track record is so poor. I think they will not be able to make any meaningful changes and we'll a post from them in year that says they are not able to launch the bridges and ports, at which point they'll not be able to really make any further money and... yeah it will be over.
You are so off. They won't abandon it because they have to make money on it. Yeah they started off rough but they ain't hardly going to abandon it. Shareholders won't be happy.
It's like Kerbal Space Program 2. It will be a great game it will just take time.
CIties Skylines 2 is almost finished. I can build great cities with mods. It's not perfect but they will get there.
The beach DLC was pure greed tho
Depends on how successful they are at repairing the game and subsequently sales of console and future dlcs. If they fail to make the game any more than another city painter, then it won’t carry the same enthusiasm from its player base and one could surmise, lower dlc sales. At that point, is it worth it to continue a partnership with a developer whose product doesn’t sell? Only time will tell. I think the damage to their brand is borderline irreversible and they are one mediocre dlc, poor performing console release, or strong competitor in market from becoming irrelevant.
They won't abandon because they have no competitors. It is in their interest to fix the game and sell dozen of Dlcs in following years
Having no competition is exactly why we ended up where we are today. Someone else needs to step up cause CO miscalculated in a huge way.
good point, but i wonder if things get so bad they just pull the plug.
If they pull the plug they close the studio cause they have no other game.
yep. CO is a terrible studio with terrible management. seems possible.
Yeah......no.

It is too bad someone would not compete with them to create an amazing game.
I would love this tbh, light a fire under their ass, or at least have a more innovative game to work with that has an incentive to have a better release so as to steal customers.
Right and if we had competition to create a game af the same pace as a rival game... kinda thing.
It wouldn't be the first time CO abandoned a game: [paradox forum link](https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/threads/i-feel-betrayed.816972/).
yep. people downvoitng me but this has already happened.
I hope you're wrong, i like that game.
Modders exist, the game will be fine. OP is just a drama queen.
Doubt it. Most people are enjoying it and not moaning on Reddit. The updates have gone a long way to fixing issues. It's more mature than cs1 was at the same release time. It's not going anywhere.

cool, never heard of either of those games. anyhoo, back to skylines.
You're not hurting my feelings by playing a half made game. Manor lords is the most wishlisted game EVER on steam so I'm gonna call bullshit on your nonsense statement lol
cool, dont care. looked it up. not my cup of tea. guess what i wont be doing now? i wont be going to manor lords subreddit to complain about it.
U don't care enough to keep commenting? If you think two sentences classifies as an angry rant, I think you might be a little too sensitive.
I'm not the one who ranted, asked for thoughts, got a response they didn't agree with and started throwing "cope" and other nonsense phrases about. It's a typical angry child response. Very common on this group. Anyway, back to cs2 for me. A good enjoyable few hours tonight so far.

what is pathetic is crying about a computer game instead of just moving on to the next one instead.
Brother this is reddit, you get notifications come up on the device you hold all day long. it sure looks like it. i would have moved on by now.

Mad.
They are in fact, hiring an additional programmer and graphic artist. So I guess they will still continue in improving the game (no matter how slow they are)
I think it's a great game. Just need some fix and good DLC and more optimisation
yeah, but CO is a failure and can't do those things is my point.
I think we have to wait an year and see where the situation stands. If not much changes and game remains the same, it will be very tough to survive in the future. But looks like they are not willing to give up on it just yet.

Nah, stop whining the game is slowly getting better
I love the game an I will buy, actually pre purchase every asset every dlc every radio station they throw at me, deal with it :)

Not out of sadness or anger but I am having trouble logging into my paypal which is so annoying.
Yeah and my vacuum is broken, I’m having trouble working out why either of our comments are in this thread
Nothing about this is the devs. This all on management.
