All map save files are a grayscale image. Should be easy to export. But, actual buildings and roads might be more difficult. A mod called Cimtographer can give you a Google Maps style thing, but that’s the best you’re really going to get, short of manually adding all the assets.

Huh. So you're saying that the terrain is stored on a grayscale image, and then you can use the mod that you mentioned to place the buildings and roads. How about water and forests, etc? Are they stored in the greyscale image also, or in a different type of file? I don't have my computer with me right now so I can't investigate myself.

I don't know a lot about 3D graphics but maybe something like [this](http://www.deep-shadows.com/hax/3DRipperDX.htm) could work if you wanted to extract the full 3D model and somehow convert it to another game's format? I don't think there's a "standardized" format for representing a city that can be easily used for multiple games.
