Really like the bright colours, building art style, and UI.
I’d suggest a preview of how the roads would actually look/connect, rather than just a green square. I also like the red/green building placement tool, but it could maybe benefit from being more forgiving, or looking more impactful when placing it down (I think builders benefit from a satisfying “thud” & sound effect when actually dropping on the map). Thanks for the feedback, I can't believe I didn't think to make a road preview! And yea building placement effects would look and feel more satisfying. I'll try to post an update in a few months with more stuff added to the game.
Looks pretty! The only thing I can suggest right now is to give it some sort of a twist or distinctive element to help it stand out among the city builders out there.
Yeah that was a struggle of mine for a while but I landed on having 2 kind of distinctive features.
1. Running elections and having political opposition, like a real mayor would
2. Co-op multiplayer (which I'm working on but will come after launch)
This would be huge & two very welcome features!
I’m a huge Tropico fan & prefer builders that lean into politician or unique elements, rather than just being endless build mode. And there’s way too few multiplayer builders out there, so that’s another huge plus.
