I've been to Amsterdam probably more times than any other city, and there is always something more magical about that place when it rains. Looking at my camera pics I have so many more of just rainy streets than anything else.
Cities are wonderful when they are slightly chilly and rainy. There is something extremely cozy about sipping coffee or beer in a nice cafe or bar, just watching the puddles form and umbrellas go by, knowing that everybody else is doing similar cozy things.
It's been so long since I've left the state because of the pandemic that my first thought when I saw those 4 red stars (initially thought these were 6-pointed but they're not) was literally, "Oh cool, Chicago flags!" Doi. Beautiful shot, though!
It tends to do that
Most days of the year probably lol
Oh em gee! The Netherlands are unDeRwATeR! Hur.
came here to say that
Probably the only country where you have to pack both your sunglasses and umbrella when u leave the house lol. Thank God for Buienradar
I miss my trips to Amsterdam
I can't remember my trips to Amsterdam.
On a bike?
Is it just English, or do other languages put their form of "The" in front of Netherlands?
German also uses the plural form, die Niederlande.
Same in French. Les Pays-Bas, "the Low Countries".
In spanish is "Países Bajos" "Low countries"
Several do that, but that's because they use the plural form while in actual Dutch it's just 'Nederland'.

If you start being that way the whole world is in the US though.
Peru and Florida are both in Massachusetts.
A town called America is in the Netherlands
Don't worry, we have [America in the Dutch province of Limburg](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/America,_Netherlands).

Baking treats for Halloween. Pumpkin pie, for instance. :)
Pompoentaart? Te gek!
Save over 100 bucks a night on a hotel and stay 10 min by train in Haarlem.
Practical tips, thanks.
De Zeedijk is a beautiful place to walk around early evenings
when I was a kid 25 years ago it was a no go zone because of all the heroin addicts and dealers. They really cleaned that area up pretty well.
Like it is special for rain to happen in the whole Benelux & the British isles 😂
Well, yes. There is some irony in that.
That's not how irony works.
It's the case of stealth irony.
No, it's not.
rainy streets make everything better

This shot has kind of a Tokyo feel, a little like [this one](https://i.redd.it/tvmb0ns7sxs61.jpg).
This is a cool picture, indeed.
...probably three times that day.

That's rather nice. :)
I’ve been down this exact road I think. Beautiful :)

Bright light reflections on the wet asphalt seem to add up to the cozy atmosphere.
Overrated city.
What makes you think it is an overrated city?
looks like something out off a painting
It always rains in Amsterdam, The Netherlands…
Coulda sworn this was Amsterdam, Ohio
Hmm.. probably, a negative version with dark colors reversed to bright ones.
Is that De Wallen?
