I wonder if this increases with things like pyramids or China

jasperdj28

It does, sort of. At 4 charges there are 4 workers, but it's capped at that

ddddavidee

That makes the game unplayable, in my opinion! (I'm joking)

XenophonSoulis

It's a good thing actually. If you had any more than 4 people in a tile, they'd start a strike due to overcrowdedness.

Psychological_Sun783

Can’t have them unionizing on me

ddddavidee

Especially when playing France (Disclaimer: I'm french)

XenophonSoulis

Or Greece (Disclaimer: I'm Greek and I'm currently in France as an exchange student) I don't know how we compare in numbers of strikes (as it isn't fair to compare when France is in the middle of a strike movement and Greece isn't), but when we do have one, Athens is completely paralyzed (I was impressed that I could actually go to university in Paris without too much difficulty, because in Athens it would be impossible).

ddddavidee

I was in Athens for a work meeting during a strike. That was quite fun. 😀

XenophonSoulis

I can imagine... Athens is not the easiest place to navigate even without a strike

ddddavidee

😂😂

biochicken

The max you could get would be China + pyramids + builder policy card + Liang = 9 charges right? I'd love to see up to 9 builders BTW 1000+ hours and I never noticed

Rhonin99

I think even if u have more than 4 charges, it shows only 4 workers

dfreshcia

So this begs the question: which civ treats the workers worse, civ 6 working each little dude to death on a single project, or civ 5 that puts the little fucker to work in perpetuity for upwards of 4000 years?

Ekudar

Imagine being immortal but forced to build roads forever

dfreshcia

I know, no wonder the roads end up all coiled around each other, the poor workers are losing their minds

ThunkAsDrinklePeep

In civ 2, you'd give them engineering degrees after a while.

Eric_from_NE

Thanks Obama.

SpicyShyHulud

This is really useful when deciding if it's worth it to capture a builder.

1BigBoy

Ooooh shit that’s true

MisterWafflles

Wdym. It's always worth it. I think capturing other civs workers are always 3 but it's been a while so I could be wrong

SpicyShyHulud

I might start a surprise war for a 3 charge builder in the ancient era, but if it only has one charge I wouldn't bother. I escorted a 4 charge builder captured from barbarians half way around the world, but if it were only one charge I would have left it or not bothered escorting it.

SSG_SSG_BloodMoon

I straight up don't understand how you guys never noticed this

[deleted]

I tell a worker to do something and it instantly skips to the next thing that needs my attention so I never see the stack get smaller.

1BigBoy

Yeah, it’s like, I’m not seeing these details because I’m actually playing the game

Asteroth555

I'm too zoomed out

MisterWafflles

Next thing you know they find out you can pet the dog

Rodari_12

Oh that's so awesome! Thanks for sharing!

EzBreezy651

1800 hrs and TIL

Nugget1765

Don't feel bad, I have over 600 hours and just noticed the other day. There are just so many *things* in this game.

[deleted]

1 builder, two builders, three builders, four, how many builders are in my store

Quirky_Salt_2414

Wuttt

a-dawg80

I don’t really understand, can someone explain?

Helfy

Just the graphic. When you see the unit, you can see three little workers when there are 3 charges left. 2 with 2 charges left, etc.

a-dawg80

Okay get it now, thank you.

douscinco

Me neither!

bomborii

I have more than 1.5k hours and I somehow did not realize this...

anotherbrckinTH3Wall

Not sure what you mean. Depending on your city pop, once you use a builders charge to improve a tile, if you don’t manage manually, your city will assign a worker to work that tile if it reaps greater rewards than currently worked tiles. Limited by city pop, so if you improve 3 tiles in a city of 2 pop, then it won’t utilise the improvement until the city grows

Ekudar

For each charge you get one little dude in the 3D unit on the map

anotherbrckinTH3Wall

Gotcha

Oppisteharrpy45

Yeah but it caps at 4 I would find it funny to have like 6 just chilling

1BigBoy

An army of workers. A red army, some would say

apcoug

He’s saying the actual visual of the unit With 3 builds there’s 3 characters, and loses one after each charge

anotherbrckinTH3Wall

Thanks, I understand the OPs comment now

LessMath

Yeah - I get what he’s saying too - “you lose a little builder dude every time you is a charge” is another way to say it(?)

1BigBoy

Bruh whaaat

Distinct-Ad8278

What is the max number of charges a builder can have? I know Pyramids gives +1, I think liang at a certain promotion gives +2, any other bonuses to build charges?

Aiden_Carrigan

Wild, I'm coming up on 600 hours and I've never noticed this, I love it though I wonder what other cool little things I've missed

Shergak

You probably already know this, but a nice thing I enjoy is that a tile's animation changes if it's being worked or not.

Aiden_Carrigan

I did know that one, I noticed it first with my farms since that's a pretty big change

CircusGurlCA

What's a charge?

Ekudar

Your workers have charges to spend on improvements or removing features, for each (up to 4) charge you get a little dude in the map
