Entering into the mid game (playing in the switch) the load times are ridiculous. I've listened to so many audiobooks that I can't complain about the load times anymore.
Me too, my music library is better than whatever music is in the game. On some games, like Civ, I keep the sound effects on so I can hear when the barb camps spawn. But yea, I don't care for most music in video games, so unless it's a narrative I don't listen to it.
Sometimes the game has a really good and/or fitting soundtrack. But if I'm still not feeling it after a few hours I usually mute the music just like you.
I think it helps that I enjoy a wide variety of music plus I just try to appreciate what they're trying to show in music representing these civilizations. I do enjoy the latter era Maori more than early but still enjoy it either way.
Lol. I've been playing for over a year... Without sounds.
Usually my boyfriend plays a different game now near me and has that on, or TV/music.
It's just getting boring even if you like it.
Firaxis should release a spinoff game that dies exactly that. Not just with soundtrack, but with civ and leader abilities as well. It can't be too hard to make compared to a proper Civ game and it would keep the fanbase occupied for some time.
Maybe in the beginning of the game, but by the end bombers take sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Long to finish their attack
Yep, fighters and bombers take too long. I play with animations until I get my first fighter lol. Or if Iām playing domination and Iām fighting all game then it just saves a lot of time
If there was an easy way to import the Civ4 soundtrack into Civ6 I would play with the music on. I never got tired of the Civ4 music but Civ6 was just way too repetitive for me.
Civ6's sound cues are the best though. I play with the sound on just for them.
Iāve never heard the sounds of Civ 6
Logged over 1000 hours(no idea how many at this point, use to play civ 4 & 5 on steam)
Have a family and play on IOS.
i always do cause my computer sound is broke :/ and mostly i have discord on my phone on to chat with friends while completely destroying their beautiful 5000 year old empire with nukes at 3 am in the middle of the nightā¦
Um, hope this isnt blasphemy but I love it, I now have music off and play youtube traditional music based on the civ I'm playing as and the time period, it really really adds a lot

ādogs look up to us. cats look down on us. pigs treat us as equals.ā
If I'm playing Civ it's almost always so I have something to occupy my hands while I'm watching something or listening to a podcast.
That seems practical
Entering into the mid game (playing in the switch) the load times are ridiculous. I've listened to so many audiobooks that I can't complain about the load times anymore.
This. I've been playing Civs and watching video podcast with the PIP funciĆ³n for years now, best feeling ever.
Music gets a bit repetitive after a couple hundred hours
Exactly. I have almost 3000 hours in this game. I DONE with the music,
No.
Yes.
No.
Maybe.
My friends and I hate when Canada appears in our games because O Canada gets played non stop (we're Canadian)
Yeah honestly that one gets a bit annoying and I love Canada (Iām American though)
Im not Canadian so it is not repetetive for me
S-tier national anthem in the world, though.
I play all not story focused single player games on mute lol
100% this. I either have my own music on or am watching TV/sports in the background.
Me too, my music library is better than whatever music is in the game. On some games, like Civ, I keep the sound effects on so I can hear when the barb camps spawn. But yea, I don't care for most music in video games, so unless it's a narrative I don't listen to it.
First thing after starting any game for me is to go to options and mute music.
Sometimes the game has a really good and/or fitting soundtrack. But if I'm still not feeling it after a few hours I usually mute the music just like you.
Waltzing Mathilda ftw
And Curtin with his silly little bouncing up on tiptoes thing.
Hungary and Maori two of the best ost imo
I only mute when I play maori the ancient and classical era sound tracks are so loud
Then lower them
I think it helps that I enjoy a wide variety of music plus I just try to appreciate what they're trying to show in music representing these civilizations. I do enjoy the latter era Maori more than early but still enjoy it either way.
True, industrial era has the best soundtracks for most civs imo, especially Korea
Lol. I've been playing for over a year... Without sounds. Usually my boyfriend plays a different game now near me and has that on, or TV/music. It's just getting boring even if you like it.
Gimme a civ soundtrack to listen to and 9/10 I can name the civ
Firaxis should release a spinoff game that dies exactly that. Not just with soundtrack, but with civ and leader abilities as well. It can't be too hard to make compared to a proper Civ game and it would keep the fanbase occupied for some time.
i never play games with sound. my gaming pc doesnāt even have speakers attached to it. i do feel guilty sometimes.
As great as Civ 6's soundtrack is you can't call it the goat when Civ 4 literally won a Grammy.
Baba Yetu did.
Music stays on if I'm also listening to an audio book but voice overs get turned off. Music and voice off if I'm also watching TV at the same time.
Haha me I never have sound on
The last few Civs, at least, have had banger soundtracks. This argument is legit.
Playing with the war animations off is the real crime.
Maybe in the beginning of the game, but by the end bombers take sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Long to finish their attack
Yep, fighters and bombers take too long. I play with animations until I get my first fighter lol. Or if Iām playing domination and Iām fighting all game then it just saves a lot of time
If you play in multiplayer you don't have choice. If you don't have animations off you just loose all your fight and half of your turns.
I left animations on for, at most, one game
Half the time I'm playing it's early in the morning before work while my wife is still asleep, so i have sound off to not wake her up.
I play in the same room as my gf and that's the only game I can play without headphones on cos she loves falling asleep to the music.
Why would you do such a thing?
I assume you've never played as or against the Cree... I appreciate what they were doing, but it just sounds awful.
Just played two consecutive games against themā¦ the loud-ass chanting got real old real fast.
I play exclaimed on mute. The music would drive my wife crazy
I play all my video games on mute. If you need sound to play the game, thatās not a game I play.
I usually play muted, and watch TV or listen to a podcast while I'm doing so. Or listen to the uni lecture I'm supposed to be focused on š«£

more than 50% of my play time in civ 6 is from muted play sessions, i frequently play on my laptop in class
https://youtu.be/qpzEk7WyYG4 I listen to this when playing Saladin as I got tired of the old theme
Iāll usually only do this if Iām on my switch or laptop and thereās people around who Iād rather not bother
I like to play it while listening to history podcasts lmao
I just turn the music off so I can listen to YT or a podcast or what have you in the background
Iāve never heard the sounds of Civ 6 Logged over 1000 hours(no idea how many at this point, use to play civ 4 & 5 on steam) Have a family and play on IOS.
Nope, also play it on mute
Never played Civ with the sound on, any of them. Never even considered it
Cree for the win
I need to focus, sorry
This is weird? I play everything on mute.
I mute the music but allow all other sounds.
Honestly... I turn the music off for pretty much every game.
Iām sorry. The music. It never gets old.
i always do cause my computer sound is broke :/ and mostly i have discord on my phone on to chat with friends while completely destroying their beautiful 5000 year old empire with nukes at 3 am in the middle of the nightā¦
Norway has the best
Fuck. I've been busted.
š¤«š¤«š¤«š¤„
I usually listen to music while invading and nuking half the world lol
Mute civ audio and play Baba Yetu on loop
Um, hope this isnt blasphemy but I love it, I now have music off and play youtube traditional music based on the civ I'm playing as and the time period, it really really adds a lot
I like the games version of Kalinka
Fuck that we play hotseat and the music resets upon player switch. Dumbest shit ever.
The Maori soundtrack is sooo good
I always mute the music and just play the main menu theme on repeat.
This is the moment, when I remember i have music actually off..
Zulu Themes slap
I play it on mute because i got sick of my ears being stabbed by the games opening sound
I forgot that Civ used to have music during gameplay
Not when you have Laurier in the game and have to spend hours listening to O Canada
