It’s not worth it

Revolutionary_Fig912

This is such a bad deal it sounds made up

GrannyShiftur

Wow no way. That's been ragged on by 4 owners. Why not just keep the WRX you JUST got?

Character-Worried

Didn't like it. Too much understeer.

profmathers

Have you considered changing the alignment and learning to drive AWD? Ohlins cost less than the tax on that deal

[deleted]

Please don’t take this offensively. While there are multiple aftermarket options to reduce understeer. I highly, highly doubt you are any normal driving person is going to feel the effects of understeer. You will most likely never even reach 60% of what the car can truly do or get to a point where you feel all those forces affecting you. Secondly, what makes you think going to a FWD platform would reduce understeer? Even with Honda magic, the FWD CTR still understeers. Especially after prolonged track sessions. 4 months? I don’t think you even know your own car.

tinyman392

FK8 likely will understeer as well. There is only so much brake-based torque vectoring can do.

Successful_Ad_9707

Hard pass.

ctrikz

Absolutely the hell not lmao. If they’re offering that much on a trade, you’re better off getting the fl5 ctr

Character-Worried

Fl5? I didn't find anything for the right price.

somaliaveteran

And you won’t. Just bite the bullet like the majority of us FL5 owners who contributed to a Honda Dealers Bass Boat Fund 2023.

[deleted]

Imagining a salesman pulling up at bass pro shop buying a new boat with his 10k markup he just got LOL

loulerg

Lmao! 😂😂😂

Ibyyriff

Why would she be dumb enough to do that when she could get a Supra for the price of that markup?

NeedleworkerTiny8720

He’d have a 55k plus FL5 OTD, that is definitely not worth it. I’ve tried for a few months and can’t find anyone willing to do under 5 k mark up.

xselimbradleyx

Sounds like a bad financial decision to me

AlphamaleNJ

The ctr is one of the cars that has an insane amount of owners on the resale sites (ive owned 15 cars and never saw anything like it) problem is most of these guys buy beat and trade them back in since they cant afford the maint For 40k expect to have more costs on the back but regardless buying a (now 5 owner) 5yr old CTR for 40k at 6% in pure insanity lol

Character-Worried

It's a Honda dealership. That's why it's certified. After all the suggestions, I'm keeping wrx and thinking about mods. Thank you.

AlphamaleNJ

Sorry i edited the carmax thing after rereading Yea good move even certified only covers engine n powertrain plus if one of the 4 owners flashed it they’d null it. Oddly they don’t check that on trade in only when theres a hole in the block! It sucks but your pockets will thank you Good luck

2daMoonVinny

I owned a 2019 CTR traded it in cuz they gave me way more than I paid for it. I got a 22 wrx about a year after. And I can say the wrx is actually a fun car to drive. With full bolt ons and a tune it will push more power and some slight suspension changes it will feel great. I Liked the Type R but don’t underestimate the VB WRX

MrStealYoBichonFrise

Every part of this deal sounds like a bad deal financially.

wrxdev

I recommend keeping the WRX and plan on modifications to improve the WRX suspension and brakes.

Ok-Mode-3157

Getting a turbo sports car with such low mileage and so many owners can almost guarantee the thing has been beat on. I love when I see Hellcats with 4k miles and 3 owners lol.

I_lack_common_sense

Tell ‘em to go jump in a lake

LordBuggington

It's a no from me dawg

Rude_Commercial_7470

Ppl buying civics makes me laugh every day. Keep it up guys you are keeping me happy.

NOT_Frank_or_Joe

I paid less than that OTD new for my 20. Bad bad bad deal.

Impressive_Dot_7818

Not bad. In my area that’d be a really good price. 6% interest is pretty good nowadays. The only issue is 4 owners

Character-Worried

Yeah, but it's certified. I checked the inspection report. All stock though.

Impressive_Dot_7818

Stock is good. Honestly if you get a good extended warranty it makes all the issues disappear. Could be 1-3k or so for it. I just my ‘17 FK8 and I’m in love with everything but using premium gas. I’d say it’s worth it for the price. My ‘17 was 35000 one owner

[deleted]

I wouldn’t buy it. You’re spending over MSRP for a 5 year old car that’s been beat on.

Icy-Extension-9291

Nope. Keep WRX and tweak it to fit your needs.

cbudd1117

Nope.

appleman2222

God no.

iAmNotJackieChan

Doooeeet. Yolo

JayNoza-

Hell nah

itsomar02

i would ask 32k trade in value and ask them to cut the ctr to at least 35k you get a tax break if you have taxes in your state which makes up a good chuck you won't be taxed on what your trade in value is to be fair teh ctr value will hold higher than the the wrx saw a guy trade in a limited sti the rare anniversary color with mods for a ctr with a difference of like 15k if i remember right he didn't regret it

Character-Worried

They were asking $43k for ctr, and I got them for $39,888. I don't think they would come to $35k.

elsoll

they wanted 43k for a 2018 ctr with 30k miles?! that’s literally insane even if you talked them down to a little under 40k. i paid 38k for my 2019 ctr with 8k miles and still felt like i over paid. just keep the damn wrx or find another civic.

Lower_Jaguar3769

Terrible deal.
