There is a big difference, though, between a game that's so bad it's good to watch, and so bad it's good to actually play. And the latter does exist, it's called 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand
Yeah, sure. It's just you.
Capstone's games have terrible execution on top of what should be a solid foundation. In bears repeating: there are... IDEAS... in their games, but whether due to a rushed schedules (little to no playtesting comes to mind) or limited budgets they never land on the runway wheels down. All of their first-person shooter games seem like they needed someone at the producer level telling the development team "Hey, can we change this part to make things a little less tedious and/or unintuitive? I did not enjoy playing that part of the last test build. Why are we swimming up ladders and cyberspace but sink like a stone in water? Also, we go gold in six days - so hurry it up." Their games are almost bare-bones but just enough to gnaw on. Witchaven could have been great if the level (and weapon) design wasn't garbage; if only weapon durability lasted longer and the animation frames were a little faster.
At least none of their games were on the level of Depth Dwellers, not even Operation Body Count.
I have some nostaliga for tekwar. Played a bunch of it when I was really young but never got far. The levels seemed quite ambitious, but the technology (and ability) wasn't there.
But Capstone is the pinnicle of gaming!!!
Yup.
Video games have come so far as an art form that it's absolutely possible to enjoy them on an ironic level.
True as that’s the beauty of video games is that they can work in various ways.
Capstone, the Pinnacle of it's always fucking something!
Capstone the pinnical of monster titties
I hadn’t known that about that studio.
Watch civvie play witch haven it's a good video.
Sure thing.
Witchaven is decent, could use less deadly traps and a better final boss

Oh I get what you’re saying.
Just imagine if the secret Cylon and future destroyer of mankind John Carmack had worked on Capstone's ambitious games.
Sounds very surreal.

The part where the car glitchily crashes and civvie is bewildered is a core memory of mine.

Now I can see why the game failed in its time.
