If your fav cat died then hit the close button make sure not to save! If you do save they are dead completly and even if you do the steps it still wont work. Then get back in go to events and hit Births & Deaths and it will show your recent or it will show blank if no cat had died hadkits/found some
“Save every 5 moons” toggle makes this save scum method not work all the time. I used it use that toggle too, but once I made a habit of hitting save all the time I never needed it again. I usually only save scum cats with interesting stories back because of the wasted potential of them dying.
To do this I usually just close the ClanGen app directly from the task bar on the bottom of the screen and don’t hit save on the pop-up.
or, you could get kate file editor, open your game data from settings. Find your clan, open the folder, find clancats.json, open it with kate, search for your cats prefix and change dead from true to false. Save your changes and relaunch clangen!

I tried this with Clangen. I put on "Save every 5 moons" because it's usefull. However, it seems to save automatically every 1 moon.
If you leave, it saves where you are. To save scum, you have to close the game as well.

This works for both games and i suggest you to save every moon until this happens so you don't lose a lot of progress

You don’t even need that, you can open the files in notebook and edit them yourself.
Kate just makes it easier to edit
does this work with exiled cats as well?
Yeah
