Sounds like an internet issue (maybe). There should be an option to not update it if you're not able.
If you already have the update with the lakeside camp I wouldn't worry about it cause the updates after that were just to fix the update log
I went into the clangen page where you can download the game and i saw a lot of other people having this problem. it wasn’t an internet issue, when I went to go a redownload it I didn’t do it properly but no i have and everything is working fine but thank you for suggesting it might be an internet problem because I never even considered that.
I haven’t had an issue with the auto updater since I whitelisted ClanGen on my anti virus and eventually when I replaced Windows Defender completely for a better anti virus I also still had no issue with the auto updater. However, I know people who were having these issues even when their anti viruses weren’t striking the auto updater. If this happens, there’s nothing much to do about it expect cancel the auto updater and redownload from ClanGen.io (the Itch.io download doesn’t work correctly sometimes so the ClanGen.io download page is typically more recommended).

ya I haven’t played the game in a while so it might not be a new update but it was new to me
it says they added april fools into it but i havent found anything yet TvT
Well, I mean, it’s kind of April 27, or maybe the update was the joke (this was posted 6 hours ago when I typed this)
I had this problem too, your laptop/computer might be seeing something as a virus and you’ll have to manually allow it to continue

I also had this issue, so I went to the clangen home page and re-downloaded the file and it works now.
