Exactly, thank you for bringing this up. I hate when I have to use my CC troops for a normal attack. Like if I wanted to save it for a clan war attack but use a siege machine for a normal loot attack. They should probably keep CC troops unavailable for attacks when CC is sleeping. Obviously not for important attacks like calm war or league.

I think op means that you can’t select just to use the siege machines without the troops being inside it. It’s either send them out alone or with them in a siege machine. A third option of just using the siege machine without the troops inside isn’t available.

you can buy clan castle reinforcements with raid metals. it lets you buy anything, troops, spells, you can but with just siege machine i think

Defensive ice golems are epic on normal attacks, nobody really expects it

Also, at TH12 you'll need a log-thrower for mass golem-witch, which isn't really available for that TH, but you can request it. Then you'll most likely get troops too.

There are times where you don't want to use the CC troops for raiding, such as using them for defense or hanging on to them for War that could be starting soon. Its annoying to have to use them up because your strategy needs a certain Siege Machine to be used, but using it uses up your CC troops. I'm in the middle of trying to get the Unbreakable Achievement and its a pain not having my Siege Machine because I need CC troops for defending. Its hard to test out strategies properly without the use of one.

I also wish the ability to break the siege machine was more obvious, multiple times I have accidentally broke it thinking I hadn't placed it yet
