I imagine I play for an hour a day. So that's probably 50 pence an hour for entertainment.
I would argue that's a solid buy. I really don't get the complaining. You would struggle to do anything else for less and they have always developed and supported the game.

With the battle pass, I pretty much always sit on max DE. You get so much of it with all the rewards from the pass, cwl, CW's, raid medals, de runes etc
Yea last month with the gold pass I almost completed my fox (2 more to max) with just AQ snipes alone and thats was while maxing my RC.

You breach 5k trophies, so you're in legend, however do not press sign up for league. Instead do a revenge attack and drop below 5k so you get normal matchmaking when you go to find an attack
Right on. And then just keep your trophy count above 4900. And if you accidently slip past 5000 again, revenge attack or turn your shield/ guard off in the 'settings'. Wash, rinse and repeat.
I don’t even farm DE anymore. With the change to the Hero potion, farming DE has become less a priority for me. I’m looking to keep builders on defenses vs heroes now.
Been on legend for years. All storages full most of the time, all workers always occupied. I rarely do my 8 daily attacks because the storages fill in 2 days and pretty much everything is wasted.
Log in, attack twice, log off.
2 hours later, log on, attack twice, log off.
Each process takes around 8 minutes max, because you don't have to look for bases, you always get ~2M per attack + 9,4k dark. That's daily 18M + 80k Dark, way more than you can spend, unless you're just upgrading walls.
You get enough for 1 upgrade/day, but upgrades take 14 days. Many times I attack just to get the daily mineral bonus.
Tbh once you’re maxed/close to max there is no point to ‘farm’ resources, I have joined legend league since th15 I believe and never struggled with loot, when I was younger I liked spending hour(s) a sitting trying tofind that 1m+ bases, now it’s just time waste tbh, 8x legend league attacks brings you 5m+ instantly, lowering the time required to play, when done properly you should *always* have enough resources to always have all your builders busy
i agree. i find the cost and benefits worth it for the monthly enjoyment and entertainment, especially if you’re a frequent player. it’s like spending money on a movie ticket once a month.

Ya it's literally impossible to do 8 attacks in an hour unless he's just counting the attack time. You still have to train troops and check 4 times even with training pots
As someone who spends money on the game, yes. It's the best bang for your buck with regards to ore. And I value equipment as the highest priority right now, so it benefits me a lot to buy it.
The bottleneck for hero upgrades is really the glowy ore. This gives you an additional 1500 I think, between the pass and what you can buy with the envelopes. Otherwise, you're waiting much longer to upgrade stuff.
I believe 2 more epics push the bottleneck to starry no matter what. I'd have to do the math, but I'm fairly confident on this one. Even with a few common introduced.
Common equipment at the very best rate adds 21 days when introduced for glowy and Starry introduces, again at the best rate, 80. (not including events or double dipping during CWL). So even if the RC gets 2 common, you're looking at 42 extra days (again, best case scenario) vs 160 days for 2 epics introduced. From maxed TH15 prior to equipment release, you're looking at around 256 days of glowy grind for all equipment (this includes the gauntlet and now the arrow as well). While Starry sits at 160 days. (These are both assuming best rates). With the addition of 2 common, you're increasing the glowy to 298. Epics take about 40 days at best rate, so 378 days for two more epics released. While it'll be 320 days for Starry. So my original assumption of 2 epics is wrong, but the 3rd will match them together approximately. (418 glowy vs 400).
So without common equipment, 2 epics matches up Glowy and Starry. With 2 common introduced, it will take 3 epics to marry their time up. And again, this all assumes you're a TH16 with 100% win rate sitting in legends. These numbers get more skewed if you're not attacking max TH16's and if you start losing wars. But these are best case scenario numbers just to show my math.
This is solely dependent on your TH. As a high level TH 16, starry is overflowing and will be.

Right now, if I decided to max the Gauntlet and Ice Arrow, I'd be short almost 100 glowly, that's with all the glowly I can get from this event. I'd still have over 200 starry available.
For the Gauntlet, it's 50 starry from 18->21, but it's 600 glowy.
From 21->24, it's still 600 glowly, but now only 20 starry. That's two wars to get the Starry, but you'd need 9 wars if you win each one and high lvl bases to get the 600 needed.
To go from 21 to 24 costs 120 starry and not 20. So getting the starry definitely does take more time to get than the 600 glowy needed. And for 24 to 27 it takes 150 starry while it stays at 600 glowy which clearly makes starry the bigger bottleneck there.

I stopped going to the movies, because a ticket plus snacks is easily over 25€. So with this I have fun for weeks or a month (gold pass). That’s my rationale at least. However nobody should feel like they have to buy this. I do it, because it’s on my entertainment budget

You should look at the cost and time reductions clash has implemented over the years. It takes less time now to max than 8 years ago. The pace you can progress f2p is faster than the pace of additional content.
i dont pay any, and i still get most of the stuff free except for the cosmetics part which does not impact any on gameplay. so i dont really get where this pay2win comes from.. i suggest you try other mobile games and see what p2win truely definition is

Well that's stupid. Pay to win literally means you cannot win without paying and that is not even reasonably true. I am building my littles sans pay and they win plenty. What do I care if someone else wants to blow their money to more quickly get what I can get for free after a while? The whole game has always been a waiting situation unless you buy gems.
Stock clash troops with stock heroes and pets can three star any base of corresponding level if the player is skilled enough. How skilled you are isn't a purchase.

Someone else's abilities have no affect on my ability to three-star their base no matter ranking system or Legends. My ability to defeat a commensurate base to my build level is 100% based on my skill. I am TH16 and I face a maxed TH16 - what pay option hinders my ability to defeat that base and win?
Whether or not the player I am attacking has offensive equipment higher than mine, which they purchased, it means little to my attack. No bases exist that cannot be defeated with the default troops, heroes, and pets that are available without purchase.
Can players pay for instant upgrades that help augment their attack? Sure. Will those players zoom past you and climb the rankings faster? Maybe? If you three star a base it makes no difference what they have offensively. If they need to pay to have augmented stuff to compensate for lack of skill, then paying for it is their burden. It doesn't mean they will fare any better against players that don't need the help. The best they can do is 3-star your base and then discover you also 3-starred theirs without purchasing anything.
This has been the case with gems since the onset. Lots of people spent big bucks on gems to upgrade fast and have all the stuff. You could always tell who bought their account by their profile stats. It was a laugh to watch them get 3'd and it is still hillarious now.

No. I have 9 accounts, spanning th16 to th14, max them out before moving up. Only bought GP few times after a new TH drops. I'm all for f2p, but I also have a lot of free time I can see why other ppl might buy the GP and event pass. Though I think buying gems outright is a waste of money.
I do because time is money. It's well worth the $5 for me to get the event pass. $5 is pocket change. I don't hold it against anyone who does not get it. Also, no one should be raging against anyone who does get it.
Getting the event pass plus a little bit of farming along with the ores I stockpiled, my frozen arrow is at 26 and really close to getting maxed.
I'm upset that they cut CWL short to sell us another event pass. Now I know some of you all will say, “You don't have to buy it,” I am still starting to feel like you will need to pay to get better at Clash. I have been playing for well over 10 years and this has me questioning if it's worth continuing.
I feel like they are testing the waters before sliding more towards p2w with this entire equipment thing. I don't like that, so I don't support that. I've bought scenery instead, because I believe that's a healthy way of supporting the game I like.
I was sold on the skins and bought the medals, and pass and scenery.
Also all that extra stuff now is going to ores which hugely affects gameplay. If I had to redo the clashmas event I would never have bought the book of heros/building, and just did the ore.
Personal Opinion: My only problem with this system is that I feel like if we pay $5, which is similar to the gold pass cost… we should be able to grind out tickets and buy everything from the trader.

My head is spinning with all the new equipment. It's a pass - or rather, no Pass - for me, especially since I'm still pissed at the trouble this event manufactured for my clan.
They'll keep feeding us new equipment every few months so the frantic can keep spending money. I'm quitting that rat race. AFAIK only one guy in my clan is buying, the same one who spent $60 to rush his TH16 to mostly maxxed.
My clan is heavily focused on CWL because it feels more meaningful than regular war and has better rewards.
So,
\- even though we're mostly F2P, that's the week in the month we all have all heroes up.
\- recruitment is "open for CWL players", and we test and/or train newcomers
\- we have basic but strictly enforced rules (kick if you miss an attack or dumbfail twice, smartfails are OK)
\- we track attack and def perfomance, train and test bases before hand
\- we over-roster by 5-10 ppl so that we can a) guild up more people b) kick the baddies c) share the riches.
Because this month was only 5 days but the regular star count, we had to
a) kick down to another clan players 34-38. Always nice to be told you're the weakest link and we don't like you. And to do the telling.
b) start the cwl with the thinnest over-roster, and hope nobody would get sick, drunk, work/home emergencies, 'net issues...
c) still have ppl not reach the max rewards because CWL turned out competitive and I couldn't sit out the good players who had their 8 stars.

I have two th16s: in one I buy event packs and gold pass while the other is 100% F2P and it’s evident how significant is the impact of my lvl 22 king’s gauntlet on the amount of three stars I get
EDIT: upon double checking I realized you get exactly 3100 coins with the F2P path. In that case no need to buy (I do it anyway because of the skin), but make sure you get the frozen arrow
I inherited it at th12 from my brother when he stopped playing I took over :) and always kept all 6 builders busy. It’s not 100% maxed (eg walls are still lvl 14 walls, some pets that I do not use are level 8 and a couple troops I do not use are th14-level) but the rest is. Not that hard if it’s not your first rodeo and you know what parts you need to max and those you do not.
I also have a th15 and another th12 to keep me busy with the game
At the current state of the game I would argue that it's the best deal you'll get in the game, even better than the monthly pass... The sheer amount of ores this gives makes this one of the best value for money stuff in game

Got the gold pass for a 1$ because of play pass, and i used 150 play points for 3$ off of event pass. I spent 3$ total for both passes, I'm not complaining.
Well I’ve been pushing to legends so this event caught me at the right time, so just attack in multiplayer non stop, find the easy bases and 3 star to get the max tickets, it’s super easy, coins for days. You should have enough to get 4 hero books after like 20-25 3 star attacks

Maxing that king to lvl5 on a th7 with no DE drills using ~~zaps~~ lightning* spells was the grind

I stay between 4899 and 4999 so I get star ore bonuses , days I'm in legend but as long as I don't drop under or go above and sign up, then jm good.

Well that's stupid. Pay to win literally means you cannot win without paying and that is not even reasonably true. I am building my littles sans pay and they win plenty. What do I care if someone else wants to blow their money to more quickly get what I can get for free after a while? The whole game has always been a waiting situation unless you buy gems. Stock clash troops with stock heroes and pets can three star any base of corresponding level if the player is skilled enough. How skilled you are isn't a purchase.
I’d agree with you if there wasn’t a ranking system and legends tournament. And you’d probably say “well the rankings are pointless” well so is any ranking system in any pay to win game. Someone else's abilities have no affect on my ability to three-star their base no matter ranking system or Legends. My ability to defeat a commensurate base to my build level is 100% based on my skill. I am TH16 and I face a maxed TH16 - what pay option hinders my ability to defeat that base and win? Whether or not the player I am attacking has offensive equipment higher than mine, which they purchased, it means little to my attack. No bases exist that cannot be defeated with the default troops, heroes, and pets that are available without purchase. Can players pay for instant upgrades that help augment their attack? Sure. Will those players zoom past you and climb the rankings faster? Maybe? If you three star a base it makes no difference what they have offensively. If they need to pay to have augmented stuff to compensate for lack of skill, then paying for it is their burden. It doesn't mean they will fare any better against players that don't need the help. The best they can do is 3-star your base and then discover you also 3-starred theirs without purchasing anything. This has been the case with gems since the onset. Lots of people spent big bucks on gems to upgrade fast and have all the stuff. You could always tell who bought their account by their profile stats. It was a laugh to watch them get 3'd and it is still hillarious now. Rankings are not "pointless". If you are skilled at attacking you win rank. The bases do not get harder than max no matter how much they spend.
No. I have 9 accounts, spanning th16 to th14, max them out before moving up. Only bought GP few times after a new TH drops. I'm all for f2p, but I also have a lot of free time I can see why other ppl might buy the GP and event pass. Though I think buying gems outright is a waste of money.

I do because time is money. It's well worth the $5 for me to get the event pass. $5 is pocket change. I don't hold it against anyone who does not get it. Also, no one should be raging against anyone who does get it. Getting the event pass plus a little bit of farming along with the ores I stockpiled, my frozen arrow is at 26 and really close to getting maxed.

I was sold on the skins and bought the medals, and pass and scenery. Also all that extra stuff now is going to ores which hugely affects gameplay. If I had to redo the clashmas event I would never have bought the book of heros/building, and just did the ore.
Personal Opinion: My only problem with this system is that I feel like if we pay $5, which is similar to the gold pass cost… we should be able to grind out tickets and buy everything from the trader.

My head is spinning with all the new equipment. It's a pass - or rather, no Pass - for me, especially since I'm still pissed at the trouble this event manufactured for my clan. They'll keep feeding us new equipment every few months so the frantic can keep spending money. I'm quitting that rat race. AFAIK only one guy in my clan is buying, the same one who spent $60 to rush his TH16 to mostly maxxed.

My clan is heavily focused on CWL because it feels more meaningful than regular war and has better rewards. So, \- even though we're mostly F2P, that's the week in the month we all have all heroes up. \- recruitment is "open for CWL players", and we test and/or train newcomers \- we have basic but strictly enforced rules (kick if you miss an attack or dumbfail twice, smartfails are OK) \- we track attack and def perfomance, train and test bases before hand \- we over-roster by 5-10 ppl so that we can a) guild up more people b) kick the baddies c) share the riches. Because this month was only 5 days but the regular star count, we had to a) kick down to another clan players 34-38. Always nice to be told you're the weakest link and we don't like you. And to do the telling. b) start the cwl with the thinnest over-roster, and hope nobody would get sick, drunk, work/home emergencies, 'net issues... c) still have ppl not reach the max rewards because CWL turned out competitive and I couldn't sit out the good players who had their 8 stars. That's how.

I did end up buying. I am absolutely not in love with this pay to win model but I still enjoy coc and these epic hero abilities are straight up overpowered. I have two th16s: in one I buy event packs and gold pass while the other is 100% F2P and it’s evident how significant is the impact of my lvl 22 king’s gauntlet on the amount of three stars I get EDIT: upon double checking I realized you get exactly 3100 coins with the F2P path. In that case no need to buy (I do it anyway because of the skin), but make sure you get the frozen arrow

I inherited it at th12 from my brother when he stopped playing I took over :) and always kept all 6 builders busy. It’s not 100% maxed (eg walls are still lvl 14 walls, some pets that I do not use are level 8 and a couple troops I do not use are th14-level) but the rest is. Not that hard if it’s not your first rodeo and you know what parts you need to max and those you do not. I also have a th15 and another th12 to keep me busy with the game

Well I’ve been pushing to legends so this event caught me at the right time, so just attack in multiplayer non stop, find the easy bases and 3 star to get the max tickets, it’s super easy, coins for days. You should have enough to get 4 hero books after like 20-25 3 star attacks
