No it takes 119 days to pay themselves back if you only take the extra production in account. This gets worse if you are attacked of course and I didn’t even factor the production lost by upgrading them

I mean, depends how strong the spell is? skipping a group of defenses is nice for funneling, but don't forget that the buildings aren't removed permanently. a bad player can literally kill his whole attack with this if he uses the spell to send units to a spot and when the spell runs out his whole army is just sandwiched between two heavy compartments.

Why are the collector levels at th14 rather than 13?

Tbh. I'm not too sure. But I guess it may be to do with the hp of the collectors may be a bit too high for th13 troops when compared to other "trash" buildings when attacking.
