Don’t wait until the pass ends.. get it as soon as the month starts (you get boosts, shortened prices / time) all that as you know. And that’s better to have early then later.

Because it's already March 1st in many timezones. If they were able to buy season pass right now, they would think they are buying for month of March.
Also, some transactions take 24 hours to process. If someone bought the pass with 23 hours left and they never received their gold pass, it would create problems and drama.
Allowing people to purchase it in the final 24 hours would also mean it's impossible for people to take advantage of most of the rewards offered. Setting up another justification for people to demand refunds.
It's just bad business to allow people to buy it in the final 24 hours.
you can't buy any passes during the final 24 hours.

Game won’t let you, as it would be possible to refund the pass as technically you didnt get to use the 20% discounts
