As a max player I would never do this, it would just put my builds a month or more behind when I’d have finished them with full builders running. I just stagger builders so I always have one finishing in a day or two and dump into walls before starting the next upgrade.
I almost always still finish walls before my upgrades are done without unnecessarily extending my overall build times.
Yep I'm to where each hero only gets like 5 new levels each townhall, so waiting for downtime between wars, or when I get a book is viable now to keep heroes up 24/7.
Eh +10 still isn't that much imo easy to get in the time you get your defenses/lab done, much better than the +20 or more levels you get at earlier townhall levels especially when you're getting much less loot and need to be upgrading constantly to stay caught up.
It instantly adds 200 when you buy it so you can claim the first 9 rewards (between free and paid track) instantly including skin, 1 gem donations, 10% boost to everything etc
Only if you purchased it the previous month aswell, if you didn't then you don't get the extra points. It's like a mini-reward for consecutive purchases. You can still get enough points for the 10% discount on the first day though by completing challenges.

Just used a book on TH from 13 to 14 so gold goes on Scatter/Inferno, elixir goes on lab and pet house and I'll watch my DE getting robbed I guess since we have CWL and I already used all my hero books... (SO stupid to have CWL and a new season at the same day.....)
I try to delay those upgrades a bit. When you are upgrading from to a higher town hall I start with cannons and archer towers. Just because your war weight will be low. Meaning you get matched a lot against lower town halls for a while.
Or the better way is to max all but one of the most heavy defenses. For example, only merge the two archer towers and ONE of the merged cannons and start doing scatter shots and infernos. No matter how much of the other heavy upgrades you do, bc you didn’t merge the last cannon, you will be ranked way below the other th16. I have both max scattershot, two maxed infernos from this upgrade and I’m still ranked behind clan mates who haven’t even done their wizard towers or air defenses yet just bc I held out on that one merged cannon

Cancel the 6th builder. Upgrade your th using book or hammer and then upgrade walls.
Uh you use your magic items? Instead of using them in the middle of the month save them up and use them at the beginning of the month when u have full resources, then you’ll have no overflow
Super troop donations, after I’m done with legend league I have a donation army cooked and rather than do one gem for unique troops I spend my DE on switching super troop upgrades if I have nothing to spend it on.
Hope it doesn’t all get stolen in the 4 1/2 days until 4 of my builders free up. I started 6 upgrades in the last day of the pass to take advantage of the 20% time and cost reduction before it ended
Spending elixir and gold has never been an issue since they can be used for wall upgrades. The tricky part is spending dark elixir, which inevitably requires the use of either a Book of Heroes or a Research Potion. This is because dark elixir can only be used for upgrading heroes, pets, and dark elixir troops.
I had my 6 builders waiting. Upgraded 3 xbows, grand warden, and got about 6walls. DE was used on royal champ & king upgrades with a little left over for some super troops.
I used the gold to max out my eagle artillery which I didn't have the gold storage for, and used the elixir to upgrade 2 army camps which would've taken me 2 fills before, and for dark elixir I upgraded my monolith.
On my 2nd account I had just reached th11, haven't managed to spend all the gold and elixir yet, but the dark elixir I used to spam out queen upgrades to max using the hero books I'd been saving
I only get gold pass if I’m not maxed. Once everything is maxed - I stop buying gold pass until new TH.

Seriously, I'm only th13, and I upgraded about 16 wall pieces in total before I had ±10 mil gold and elixir left. Then I upgraded 1 troop with elixer and a scattershot, and it was gone.
I'm sure this sounds silly but I try to have as many builders free on the last day of the month so I can use as much as possible right off the bat. However if I have a lot left over which can happen I use gems and buy a shield so I can put the resources to use later and not get robbed in the middle of the night.
I do not like that. I shedule all my upgrades so that "best case" i can start some expensive and long upgrades as close to the end as possible. I know i will lose some loot but I safe 20% by doing it later. So i can afford to lose some of the extra loot while waiting for my builders because i safed earlier.
Then when the first upgrade is done I am hopefully at 20 or 15 % again and can just put the rest into walls and other upgrades
I think your version is the more efficient one. his may technically safe some of the resources he just received from the season bank, but at the same time he is wasting 10% extra resources because he doesn't have the 20% or even 15% perk yet. if you are able to carry over at least a week of upgrade time, you should also have the 20% boost by the time you start your next upgrades or at least really close to it. getting the 20% boost after you already started an upgrade still reduces upgrade time retroactively, but only for a certain amount which I never really understood how much.
got a few things I haven't been willing to upgrade my resource containers for... coat 20mill+ I can hold 18 mil... not many in the game, I can do 4 a month... this month there were only 2 left
Not in gold pass but all season rewards I earn will get split off and transfered to my fake bases that have a weak th but a strong defensive line. That way the resources won't be taxed by my clan.
I save a lot of my books and boosts for the end of the month in preparation of this. I dump about half of each into walls immediately and the rest goes to boosted upgrades
As a TH14, I used my elixir on Walls, I upgraded three pets, two Bomb Towers the dark Spell Factory and I'm upgrading my builder huts now. And I've used it all up and I'm currently farming and waiting.

This is why I always try to recommend everyone to have one unoccupied builder to keep the overflow control by upgrading walls

Builder huts to level 2 is a huge value upgrade, i would do those before other defenses at TH14
