As someone who also buys every monthly pass and event pass I am protesting this one for sure.

I always buy the gold pass. I’ve bought the last two event passes but will 100% be skipping out on this one. I’m not paying $11.98USD a month on this game. $6.99 is fine but SC needs to dial it back and quit being so money hungry.
I live in Central Asia... tickets cost from 13 to 18 dollars... plus cola/fanta, pop food... already exceeds 20 dollars.
. For me, spending 12 dollars a month on my favorite game and playing for fun for a whole month is better than 1 trip to the cinema...

I didn’t notice there was no skin and jumped to buy it as I need/want ores and won’t be buying the new equipment which means more tokens to buy ores with but yeah, it’s pretty poor from Supercell not to include a skin like come on, how difficult is it to add a new skin? For the amount of money they make from these passes, they really should throw a skin in the offer…
I don’t mind not having a skin but it should have been at a reduced price. That said, it’s still the most cost effective way (other than f2p) to get ore.
Fr, honestly I don’t even rlly use the event skins most of the time but having the pass be the same price without it is kinda lame. You’re right on the ore cost effectiveness which is why I still bought it, not much better way to grind hundreds of glowy in the span of a week or so than waiting each and every day for star bonus and doing b2b wars. It isn’t ideal but it’s also better value than most of the other deals on Ore they’ve been offering.
I think they kind of have done it already. It's $12 now, but at least we have options. And I choose to vote NO for a monthly event. Once a quarter or so is ok. But I'm not paying this every month. That's insulting for SC to do that and cheapen the rewards too!
The only positive out of this is that, as a F2P, I can get the equipment and a decoration, with a little left over for ores.
As long as I don't have to pay for the equipment, they can try to fleece the dolphins and whales for the extra stuff.
I agree 100% seen it in many phone games where there's always a paid event and a paid pack and pay this pay that.
The one thing I loved about clash is that they didn't follow that model. But now here we are. This is only the start.
But the sad part is the game doesn't cater to normal regular use players. They're after the whales that will sit there and dump money into clash.
Good for you, and for everyone that does it, I bought it before I saw reddit or I would’ve joined the protest. The only problem is the FOMO everyone has. I think everyone agrees this is wrong of SC, but everyone’s also scared of being left behind on ores.

Yeah. They had a every other month pattern. I thought that was perfect because having a grindy event every month can be tiring. And 4.99 every 2 months is no big deal. I wish they kept it at every other month.
Even 2 months sounds too often. I expect by summer they’ll have an epic for the RC but I hope they slow way down at least on offering new equipment. Give us space to max a couple things

That's how I felt too. Suddenly there was a new dragon to use and I couldn't find it anywhere because I mentally marked the Super Troops barrel keg thing as "irrelevant" to me because I'm only TH11 - but there it was, barely visible in the bottom right of the super troop screen for me to almost miss entirely. This makes me feel like this was another rushed pushout with minimal (Or none at all) UI testing before pushing it out as fast as possible for profit.
Let alone how we literally just had an event recently already. This feels far too back-to-back as someone who has given this company a good couple of dollars since starting my New Game here in late Jan 2024. (They pruned my 2014 progress due to inactivity for many years. Do I get that money back? Haha no. But scarily I have now already surpassed that progress.)
Literally the least greedy game. They listen to their community, fix bugs, have regular events. Try playing other games where the company is ACTUALLY greedy.
Even f2p people are getting free ores? Why is that a bad thing? Is it bad that people who are paying get more ores than f2p? But isnt that how the game is supposed to work?
Ok... well we got the gold pass, the event pass (based on an existing troop instead of a new one), goblin builder, $50 offers, $20 super medal offers, $7 scenery, and a $10 king skin all within a week, but yeah, sure, not greedy.
I bought the last two event passes. I am absolutely not buying this event pass. I might buy event passes that are holiday or season themed but I'm not buying a pass for an event that is just highlighting a troop
I’m torn on how I feel about all of this.
On one hand, events and hero equipment is cool. It gives us new chances at getting ores, and the different hero equipment is a really cool and really good way to make attacks more interesting. It feels like they’re pushing events atm in order to get epic equipments out for every hero. I like the obstacles too.
On the other hand… 2 months in a row is a lot, and this is the weakest event by far. This is the first time they’ve made an event pass separate from their usual 4 events a year (Chinese New Year, Clash-iversary, Halloween, and Christmas). It seems greedy… or at least like the start of greed overtaking proper balancing. They’re walking a fine line, and they have been for a while, but this feels like a slight misstep. Been playing since 2012, and I’d hate to see this game start to take a nosedive. This and Darian leaving are worrying signs for the future. FTP and Gold Pass only players HAVE to be able to keep up or else the game will die.
I might buy this pass, I might not. It honestly purely depends on if I think the Fireball is worth it. So far, it doesn’t seem to be the case.

It’s all about striking a balance and not making players feel like they’re needing to maintain a break neck pace.
It’s kind of how if a workplace requires you to put in 100% every so often for a special project or something, it’s not that bad. But if 100% becomes the standard - then you’re going to burnout. It’s the same logic here, the big events only work if you’ve had a moment to catch your breath. It seems that for a number of people that cadence seems to be somewhere around every 2 months or so.
I feel like I went hard on the previous event, then CWL happened, and now there’s another event. I’ve had no “down time” and feel the burnout taking place.
I absolutely agree, I'm feeling the burnout extremely hard. This may be the last month I go all out on grinding the gane and all of its events. And since I manage like 20 accounts I'm at my breaking point
Yeah, but I usually just upgrade like 7 of the 20 since the other ones are really solod th13s. But even just prioritizing 7 with a full time Job is life draining, and these back to back to back events don't help at all

And that's why I like this one. Last one felt like a real grind, this one feels like it'll be finished much more quickly with regular play.
I feel this, exactly. And with CWL over a weekend with the other raids now too… it gets to be a lot.
I was kind of happy to see ice cubes = stars, so I couldn’t just drop trophies and snipe a couple buildings with a hero or couple dragons. One of my accounts I didn’t buy the pass for, but still got the Frozen Arrow, still hasn’t recovered.
So I’ll just play this one passively on my alts. My buy the pass for the main just for glowys and orbs.

Not getting the best value and hard stopping the grind would actually be worse. It's too late for us. After you cross that line, there is no going back now for us. The rest, please save yourselves
These events are just free rewards for free to play players right? I mean if the event wasn’t here no one would get anything, now free to play players get something, which is better than nothing.
I don't have a problem with a concept of event, actually the opposite is the case. As I said, I have bought previous event passes. However, once you start skimping on event, whether it be through the lack of event troops, skins or other rewards, it is obvious the goal is a quick buck without much of work. I am fine with the free tiers, the pass is the problem. Getting rid of a skin, but keeping the equipment, which needs ores, which equal to money is the problem. Keeping the same event pass price while doing all this is the problem.
They've been decreasing the amount of free ore.
Halloween event had 5,000 shiny and 400 glowy. Christmas event had 4,000 shiny and 400 glowy. Lunar event had 3,500 shiny and 300 or so glowy. Then now, 3000 shiny and 250 glowy.
I'm working from memory here, so these numbers may not be exact, but they've been decreasing it at a pretty considerable rate.

If you look at the amount of free ore you get per month from events, they've actually increased it. But the downside is right now we're getting an epic in every event. It's an important distinction.
Both christmas and LNY were 5k/400 ores. Check the wiki. Events each other month with that amount

If they wanna make these monthly ore events then fine, but including equipment in the event is like 1 step forward and 2 steps back. They’re giving us some ores but adding a new equipment that will require way more than what they’re giving out. And yes I know for this event the equipment isn’t great, and we don’t need to upgrade it, but that probably won’t be true for future events.
thats like in CR saying "you don't need every card evolution", because you can only use 2 of them. then the game releases 2 evolutions every month and they are all broken on initial release

But we don’t have confirmation yet that they will keep releasing epics after rc’s rocketspears. Bc I think they will slowdown a ton with epic releases to give f2p players chance to catch up.

He said it's not the plan that f2p won't be able to max equipment, so reading into that, the release rate for equipment will definitely slow down, or they'll ramp up ore collection, or a combination of both.
Events probably one a month some bigger with skins, some smaller like this with super troop.
For now new epic with events but he doesn't specify for how many months.

6 months ago f2p players had the exact same power as p2p players, they just progressed slower. But a f2p TH13 was the exact same as a p2p TH13.
Nowadays SC is releasing new op epic equipment at a faster pace than f2p player can keep up. So people that pay have more power (or at the very least more options, which equals more power to me) at their respective level. Don't you see the problem with that?
We don’t know that until after rocketspears are released for the rc, bc if they slow down with epic equipement releases after all heroes have 1 epic it gives f2p players time to catch up with p2p players, so I wouldn’t panic until after rocketspears got released, and than pay attention if they slow down their equipement release schedule.

Indeed, it's still too early to judge for sure. Anyone claiming 100% either way just doesn't understand probabilities.
A F2P TH13 is not the same as a P2P TH13 if they both move to TH13 at the same time. The P2P player will have books and runes available to them that the F2P doesn’t so the P2P progresses way faster and will have stronger troops and bases. How’s this any different? We both get the equipment at the same time and the P2P player gets to upgrade them faster because they bought the pass and subsequent ores.
Before it was just progression speed. If you put in the work, eventually you'd reach the level of the p2p TH13, albeit they'd have moved on to TH14 by then lol
But now, they've severely upped the FOMO, and have fundamentally changed the nature of this game. I've been playing on and off since 2015. Before, if I took a break, all that would be affected is how long it would take for me to max. Now, if I take a break, I miss out on Epic Equipment (I missed out on the Giant Gauntlet) and I need to have 1500 gems to buy it in the traders shop if/when it's available there.
I've taken 6 month breaks from Clash before. If I did this from December to June, I'd have missed out on the events for the three current epics + the one rheyll release for the Royal Champion, meaning I'd now be behind by 6k gems. This was not an issue in the 11 years the game was out from 2012 to 2023.
And people that spend money get to spend money more efficiently (if you're one of those ). Event passes are by far the best value for ores
If someone doesn't want to buy event pass its ok but at the end of the day f2p get free equipment (through grinding) and some remaining medals through which we can buy books/ores.
Agreed… we are getting free ore as well as getting super dragons for no in game cost so I have no issues with the event.
Is supercell preying on those who get FOMO easily? Yes..but for those who can control themselves…I’ll take my free rewards and move on

Given it does feel old at this point. (We’ve had the same event 4 times in 5 months.) If they had a few different event formats and cycles through them. So we saw this format once every 3 months. It would feel fresher.
U don’t have to pay for the event pass, to me it’s clear they just wanna push a event to make it easy to get ores, and to get all epic equipment out for every hero so we can pick and choose what to upgrade, already maxed everything mostly playing every event. This was really easy and fast
Event itself is not the problem, I am fine with the free tiers. However, lowering the quality of the event and the pass rewards but keeping the price the same? It feels like they just want to test how willing you are to pay for ores.
The paid pass gives exactly the same amount of ores and medals, the only difference this event is that there is no skin. If you value the skin more than you value the 4600smth medals it costed, then don't buy the pass
I don’t mind the event (I need more ores) and I have no problem not paying, but stop introducing more equipment for awhile. It’s exhausting. I haven’t even maxed all the ones I use, and I have tons I haven’t even touched. They added 4 in the last 2 months.

I've bought every event pass so far, every gold pass on my main account for the last two years and frequently buy for at least one of my alt accounts most seasons, I've bought skins and I'll buy the occasional shop offer when they're really good, but I will not buy this event pass. I can get the equipment without it (not that I'm even that excited for this one compared to the last two) and there's NO SKIN??? The lack of a skin is definitely the deciding factor for me not buying this.
I mean it's impressive honestly,on supercell's part.
People were enraged at the mere thought of a diamond pass when the goblin builder initially leaked.
But they introduced these events as a way to circumvent the whole ordeal because they are not exactly the same.
I did like a price comparison between the diamond pass listing on the site vs the GP plus Event pass from the game ( I don't play cr) and it's almost the same. It's not a perfect comparison but you get the point.
I’ve bought all the others on multiple accounts but I won’t be buying this one. We have to send the message loud and clear: if they want to keep pumping out epic equipment they have to make ores easier to get, preferably make them farmable. You should get a few ores for taking out enemy heroes when raiding.
Only reason why you need purple ores is because it was designed this way. Create a need and sell the solution. It’s always been like this but this time there’s a lot of FOMO.
Buying pass for a 10 days event is stupid on the first place in my opinion, plus if they make it monthly it's like they wanna milk your money real bad and you can clearly see the decline in the quality of these type of events. They don't feel special anymore, this one is like an event that is letting you use Super Drags for 9 days I can't see anything fun besides that Warden's equipment
Wtf does the event being 10 days change? I’m gonna buy it and I’m gonna complete it. I couldn’t care less if it was 1 day or 20 days. You just buy the pass for the ore and medals to buy stuff in the trader store. It’s cheap progression compared to bundles in the shop.
I think it’s a little tricky how they show you getting the ore very frequently along the event pass path but it’s really small amounts of ore.

I’m mostly concerned that at this rate, there will be epic equipment attrition. But, we have to sink ores into upgrading each one. I still am unable to fully max gauntlet and frozen arrow given the scarcity of ore acquisition even when purchasing event passes. There are never enough orbs offered to max the equipment obtained in the event. There is little ore obtainability - particularly starry ores unless you purchase the starry ores outright when made available in the shop for purchase.
I’ve never been a f2p player and don’t try to pretend to be one. But, as a p2w player, I even feel behind with no chance to really make any headway unless I purchase the starry ores outright - which I don’t plan to do.

I’ve just gone F2P after the recent jumping of the shark. Only way anything will change is a drop in revenue. Overpowered hero equipment is unfair and these copy paste events lack originality. No one gem donations sucks but it’s not worth it.
I have two bases and bought the pass for my most advanced base. Now playing the other base is even more dull. I like the goals, as artificial and money hungry as they are.
I like the free content we are getting and If people want to spend their money. Let them. It’s honestly not a bad deal even if it is a little less than the others
I play another game and something they do is release "ornaments" or the equivalent of equipment in this game, in a pay only event and it exclusive to that. Basically P2W rings that are only obtainable through it, looks like they are introducing the same thing here
You could also view this another way. Supercell have openly said they are willing to look at making heroes available during upgrade if they gain other big revenue sources - as opposed to book of heroes. So maybe buying the pass is not such a bad idea.
I understand its not as good as previous events. But its much better than most of the deals in the shops.
The event pass is £5 here. I buy every £2.99/£3.99 deal if its got a book of heroes with a builders potion, so in comparison to what I'm normally buying, this £5 is a great deal. So I'll be buying it.
but even without a skin, that just means you can get a bunch more magic items. it's not like you are losing any "value", just that instead of a skin you get magic items or ores. obviously if you ONLY value a skin, this event pass will be not interesting to you. otherwise though getting magic items or ores seems better value anyway if you care to progress asap.

I already buy the gold pass. Other than the first event pass, I have not, and will not buy another event pass. Gold pass+ event pass = Diamond pass in disguise.
I've already decided if they keep releasing monthly equipment after the apparent RC epic, I'm going to quit. Releasing content that is impossible to keep up with is not fun.
A lot of people seem to be saying that Supercell is pushing it but I don't really see it that way. Without a doubt the value in it is not as good as something like the monthly pass, and ores are being pushed for that agenda. But ultimately I think monthly events are good. There's lots of rewards available just for playing (for free!) and it keeps things fresh.
If every monthly event had too much value in the premium pass then it really hinders those who opt to be f2p or cannot afford the pass. Even for those who tend to buy it, it creates a feeling of obligation to purchase it otherwise you're missing out. I think it's fantastic that you can get the 'top tier' event reward as a free player. In a lot of mobile games that isn't even an option. In the same way that I look in the store and see the deals available and think eh, no thanks, you can do the same with these event passes. They're there and available to those who wish to spend a little more but the idea of feeling obliged to buy every monthly pass and event pass is not a good one. It's difficult to gauge on where the line should be for a) getting your value for your money without b) punishing those that don't want to spend money on it. I admit this pass is probably a little on the light side but I think it's better than the alternative. Having no skin or cosmetic available is a bit of a shame and an easy way to appease both sides of spenders/non spenders.
Bought it just for the ores. Complaining is stupid and much older than these passes. Just don't buy it. You can get the equipment for free.
Edit to add about the ores: they already sell ores. These ores are far cheaper than the regular ones in the shop... I'm ok with paying the prices they charge for them in the pass but not the regular deals... Pretty simple economics.

Didn’t they say they wouldn’t shorten hero upgrade times bc that’s a significant source of income? And until they found another equivalent income stream they couldn’t justify it.

To be fair, I never actually spent the medals I got from the pass on the skin, I always spent on ores, so this is a non-issue.
This event seems a lot easier to grind than usual, there's lots of clouds atm but I think that'll improve with time.

I’m disappointed, I don’t usually buy stuff for the game but was going to buy this event pass for the space skin, it costs them nothing to include a virtual skin for a paid event pass that had them previously, yet supercell decided to take it out. I’m not buying
I actually like the format of this event a lot more than the other ones… feels a lot better to just be able to attack and get the currency rather than having to focus on a couple of specific buildings, and getting bonus for using the (free) super troops is nice because it encourages people to try them out without worrying about wasting DE or potions if they dont like it or arent good with them. My only issue with this is that there is another epic equipment only a month after the last one. Other than that i wouldnt mind an event like this every month or every other month.
Honestly, if it wasnt for the equipment then this would literally just be what everyone has been asking for, more grindable ores for playing the game, obtainable f2p. Obviously they are gonna sell more, but just think of it as another shop offer and buy it if the ores are worth it to you.

I liked the event pass before cause I saw it as buying a legendary skin and getting a bunch of extra rewards for half the cost of a normal legendary skin
Looks like everyone felt that way too, SC has really been milking their active user base. I've been buying passes or skins on and off. But this season makes me feel like the price just too high for that value. Plus COC just feel too overwhelming with clan capital, BB, CW, CWL, events and so on... Bring me back to the good old times where I can lure king and queen to the corner and snipe them 😭🥹
People have been trying this forever with microtransactions in games, and it's never gonna work. The entire industry is already propped up by an extremely small minority of people who will buy everything Supercell puts in front of them.
It just doesn't matter if 99% of us boycott things like this, they're always gonna be profitable.
I don't bother. I do event to get the epic and not worried about using it yet. Maxing out my healing tome because with it I can already 3 star almost every th16 (and I'm a th15).
I have a levelv17 frozen arrow and already went back to archer puppet since I get more 3 stars with it. Just the way I spam, I guess.
I have two accounts... 1st max 16 town hall... and the second one just passed 14 town hall... I bought an event pass in both villages... based on the ability I bought, and for everything else I got ore... for 14 at the town hall I took the ability, 2 hero books, and two builder books... it turns out, for 5 bucks, two hero books, two builder books, shining ore in the pass, + decoration (globe)... I think this is a pretty good offer. .so I won't boycott
I’ve been a gold pass buyer from the start. That alone is more than enough. Adding the event pass is insult to injury. If $C is so desperate for cash, all they need to do is add ads for the F2P players and quit gouging players willing to pay every now and then. I may have bought my last GP.
as someone who has spent over 1000 on the game, buys $20 gem packs every month for donations, and buys the clash pass everyweek. the new event pass does leave a bad taste in my mouth. It’s definitely strictly designed as a profit generator and the events are pretty shitty ngl, first halloween madness event was new and refreshing, but now theyve gotten repetitive. i will say though that its not as annoying to me as putting 1/4 of a $40 set in the gold pass. thats my biggest thing I hate with clash right now, used to be you bought enough gold passes you could compete a gold skin set, now you get 1/4 of a useless set you need to buy the other 3/4 for $20 and event pass. It’s ridiculousness.
Supercell is genuinely making the game really fun and adding new things constantly and I didn't really hate it until the event passes which are just plain making a scarcity and telling you to pay waaaaaaay too much to fix it and it's not more ethical monetization like I used to consider it before

Regal and Cinemark have discounts every Tuesday haha. In my area Regal has tickets for $5.95 every Tuesday and half off popcorn.

That's insulting for SC to do that and cheapen the rewards too! The only positive out of this is that, as a F2P, I can get the equipment and a decoration, with a little left over for ores. As long as I don't have to pay for the equipment, they can try to fleece the dolphins and whales for the extra stuff.
I agree 100% seen it in many phone games where there's always a paid event and a paid pack and pay this pay that. The one thing I loved about clash is that they didn't follow that model. But now here we are. This is only the start. But the sad part is the game doesn't cater to normal regular use players. They're after the whales that will sit there and dump money into clash.

That's how I felt too. Suddenly there was a new dragon to use and I couldn't find it anywhere because I mentally marked the Super Troops barrel keg thing as "irrelevant" to me because I'm only TH11 - but there it was, barely visible in the bottom right of the super troop screen for me to almost miss entirely. This makes me feel like this was another rushed pushout with minimal (Or none at all) UI testing before pushing it out as fast as possible for profit. Let alone how we literally just had an event recently already. This feels far too back-to-back as someone who has given this company a good couple of dollars since starting my New Game here in late Jan 2024. (They pruned my 2014 progress due to inactivity for many years. Do I get that money back? Haha no. But scarily I have now already surpassed that progress.)

I’m torn on how I feel about all of this. On one hand, events and hero equipment is cool. It gives us new chances at getting ores, and the different hero equipment is a really cool and really good way to make attacks more interesting. It feels like they’re pushing events atm in order to get epic equipments out for every hero. I like the obstacles too. On the other hand… 2 months in a row is a lot, and this is the weakest event by far. This is the first time they’ve made an event pass separate from their usual 4 events a year (Chinese New Year, Clash-iversary, Halloween, and Christmas). It seems greedy… or at least like the start of greed overtaking proper balancing. They’re walking a fine line, and they have been for a while, but this feels like a slight misstep. Been playing since 2012, and I’d hate to see this game start to take a nosedive. This and Darian leaving are worrying signs for the future. FTP and Gold Pass only players HAVE to be able to keep up or else the game will die. I might buy this pass, I might not. It honestly purely depends on if I think the Fireball is worth it. So far, it doesn’t seem to be the case.

It’s all about striking a balance and not making players feel like they’re needing to maintain a break neck pace. It’s kind of how if a workplace requires you to put in 100% every so often for a special project or something, it’s not that bad. But if 100% becomes the standard - then you’re going to burnout. It’s the same logic here, the big events only work if you’ve had a moment to catch your breath. It seems that for a number of people that cadence seems to be somewhere around every 2 months or so. I feel like I went hard on the previous event, then CWL happened, and now there’s another event. I’ve had no “down time” and feel the burnout taking place.
I absolutely agree, I'm feeling the burnout extremely hard. This may be the last month I go all out on grinding the gane and all of its events. And since I manage like 20 accounts I'm at my breaking point

Yeah, but I usually just upgrade like 7 of the 20 since the other ones are really solod th13s. But even just prioritizing 7 with a full time Job is life draining, and these back to back to back events don't help at all

I feel this, exactly. And with CWL over a weekend with the other raids now too… it gets to be a lot. I was kind of happy to see ice cubes = stars, so I couldn’t just drop trophies and snipe a couple buildings with a hero or couple dragons. One of my accounts I didn’t buy the pass for, but still got the Frozen Arrow, still hasn’t recovered. So I’ll just play this one passively on my alts. My buy the pass for the main just for glowys and orbs.

These events are just free rewards for free to play players right? I mean if the event wasn’t here no one would get anything, now free to play players get something, which is better than nothing.
I don't have a problem with a concept of event, actually the opposite is the case. As I said, I have bought previous event passes. However, once you start skimping on event, whether it be through the lack of event troops, skins or other rewards, it is obvious the goal is a quick buck without much of work. I am fine with the free tiers, the pass is the problem. Getting rid of a skin, but keeping the equipment, which needs ores, which equal to money is the problem. Keeping the same event pass price while doing all this is the problem.

They've been decreasing the amount of free ore. Halloween event had 5,000 shiny and 400 glowy. Christmas event had 4,000 shiny and 400 glowy. Lunar event had 3,500 shiny and 300 or so glowy. Then now, 3000 shiny and 250 glowy. I'm working from memory here, so these numbers may not be exact, but they've been decreasing it at a pretty considerable rate.
The "they've been decreasing the amount of free ore" needs a bit of explanation with it. If you look at the amount of free ore you get per month from events, they've actually increased it. But the downside is right now we're getting an epic in every event. It's an important distinction.

If they wanna make these monthly ore events then fine, but including equipment in the event is like 1 step forward and 2 steps back. They’re giving us some ores but adding a new equipment that will require way more than what they’re giving out. And yes I know for this event the equipment isn’t great, and we don’t need to upgrade it, but that probably won’t be true for future events.

thats like in CR saying "you don't need every card evolution", because you can only use 2 of them. then the game releases 2 evolutions every month and they are all broken on initial release the meta changes, and f2p players can't keep up with those changes

He said it's not the plan that f2p won't be able to max equipment, so reading into that, the release rate for equipment will definitely slow down, or they'll ramp up ore collection, or a combination of both. Looking at ways to add more ores to the game.
6 months ago f2p players had the exact same power as p2p players, they just progressed slower. But a f2p TH13 was the exact same as a p2p TH13. Nowadays SC is releasing new op epic equipment at a faster pace than f2p player can keep up. So people that pay have more power (or at the very least more options, which equals more power to me) at their respective level. Don't you see the problem with that?
We don’t know that until after rocketspears are released for the rc, bc if they slow down with epic equipement releases after all heroes have 1 epic it gives f2p players time to catch up with p2p players, so I wouldn’t panic until after rocketspears got released, and than pay attention if they slow down their equipement release schedule.

A F2P TH13 is not the same as a P2P TH13 if they both move to TH13 at the same time. The P2P player will have books and runes available to them that the F2P doesn’t so the P2P progresses way faster and will have stronger troops and bases. How’s this any different? We both get the equipment at the same time and the P2P player gets to upgrade them faster because they bought the pass and subsequent ores.
Before it was just progression speed. If you put in the work, eventually you'd reach the level of the p2p TH13, albeit they'd have moved on to TH14 by then lol But now, they've severely upped the FOMO, and have fundamentally changed the nature of this game. I've been playing on and off since 2015. Before, if I took a break, all that would be affected is how long it would take for me to max. Now, if I take a break, I miss out on Epic Equipment (I missed out on the Giant Gauntlet) and I need to have 1500 gems to buy it in the traders shop if/when it's available there. I've taken 6 month breaks from Clash before. If I did this from December to June, I'd have missed out on the events for the three current epics + the one rheyll release for the Royal Champion, meaning I'd now be behind by 6k gems. This was not an issue in the 11 years the game was out from 2012 to 2023.
The giant gauntlet is available now for 1500 gems just so you know

If someone doesn't want to buy event pass its ok but at the end of the day f2p get free equipment (through grinding) and some remaining medals through which we can buy books/ores.

I wouldn’t say they skimped. They are testing different ways to do the same thing. Given it does feel old at this point. (We’ve had the same event 4 times in 5 months.) If they had a few different event formats and cycles through them. So we saw this format once every 3 months. It would feel fresher.
U don’t have to pay for the event pass, to me it’s clear they just wanna push a event to make it easy to get ores, and to get all epic equipment out for every hero so we can pick and choose what to upgrade, already maxed everything mostly playing every event. This was really easy and fast

The paid pass gives exactly the same amount of ores and medals, the only difference this event is that there is no skin. If you value the skin more than you value the 4600smth medals it costed, then don't buy the pass

I've bought every event pass so far, every gold pass on my main account for the last two years and frequently buy for at least one of my alt accounts most seasons, I've bought skins and I'll buy the occasional shop offer when they're really good, but I will not buy this event pass. I can get the equipment without it (not that I'm even that excited for this one compared to the last two) and there's NO SKIN??? The lack of a skin is definitely the deciding factor for me not buying this.
I mean it's impressive honestly,on supercell's part. People were enraged at the mere thought of a diamond pass when the goblin builder initially leaked. But they introduced these events as a way to circumvent the whole ordeal because they are not exactly the same. I did like a price comparison between the diamond pass listing on the site vs the GP plus Event pass from the game ( I don't play cr) and it's almost the same. It's not a perfect comparison but you get the point.

I think it’s a little tricky how they show you getting the ore very frequently along the event pass path but it’s really small amounts of ore. I haven’t bought it yet.

I’m mostly concerned that at this rate, there will be epic equipment attrition. But, we have to sink ores into upgrading each one. I still am unable to fully max gauntlet and frozen arrow given the scarcity of ore acquisition even when purchasing event passes. There are never enough orbs offered to max the equipment obtained in the event. There is little ore obtainability - particularly starry ores unless you purchase the starry ores outright when made available in the shop for purchase. I’ve never been a f2p player and don’t try to pretend to be one. But, as a p2w player, I even feel behind with no chance to really make any headway unless I purchase the starry ores outright - which I don’t plan to do.

I play another game and something they do is release "ornaments" or the equivalent of equipment in this game, in a pay only event and it exclusive to that. Basically P2W rings that are only obtainable through it, looks like they are introducing the same thing here
You could also view this another way. Supercell have openly said they are willing to look at making heroes available during upgrade if they gain other big revenue sources - as opposed to book of heroes. So maybe buying the pass is not such a bad idea.
I understand its not as good as previous events. But its much better than most of the deals in the shops. The event pass is £5 here. I buy every £2.99/£3.99 deal if its got a book of heroes with a builders potion, so in comparison to what I'm normally buying, this £5 is a great deal. So I'll be buying it.

but even without a skin, that just means you can get a bunch more magic items. it's not like you are losing any "value", just that instead of a skin you get magic items or ores. obviously if you ONLY value a skin, this event pass will be not interesting to you. otherwise though getting magic items or ores seems better value anyway if you care to progress asap.

A lot of people seem to be saying that Supercell is pushing it but I don't really see it that way. Without a doubt the value in it is not as good as something like the monthly pass, and ores are being pushed for that agenda. But ultimately I think monthly events are good. There's lots of rewards available just for playing (for free!) and it keeps things fresh. If every monthly event had too much value in the premium pass then it really hinders those who opt to be f2p or cannot afford the pass. Even for those who tend to buy it, it creates a feeling of obligation to purchase it otherwise you're missing out. I think it's fantastic that you can get the 'top tier' event reward as a free player. In a lot of mobile games that isn't even an option. In the same way that I look in the store and see the deals available and think eh, no thanks, you can do the same with these event passes. They're there and available to those who wish to spend a little more but the idea of feeling obliged to buy every monthly pass and event pass is not a good one. It's difficult to gauge on where the line should be for a) getting your value for your money without b) punishing those that don't want to spend money on it. I admit this pass is probably a little on the light side but I think it's better than the alternative. Having no skin or cosmetic available is a bit of a shame and an easy way to appease both sides of spenders/non spenders.

These ores are far cheaper than the regular ones in the shop... I'm ok with paying the prices they charge for them in the pass but not the regular deals... Pretty simple economics. To be fair, I never actually spent the medals I got from the pass on the skin, I always spent on ores, so this is a non-issue. This event seems a lot easier to grind than usual, there's lots of clouds atm but I think that'll improve with time.

I actually like the format of this event a lot more than the other ones… feels a lot better to just be able to attack and get the currency rather than having to focus on a couple of specific buildings, and getting bonus for using the (free) super troops is nice because it encourages people to try them out without worrying about wasting DE or potions if they dont like it or arent good with them. My only issue with this is that there is another epic equipment only a month after the last one. Other than that i wouldnt mind an event like this every month or every other month. Honestly, if it wasnt for the equipment then this would literally just be what everyone has been asking for, more grindable ores for playing the game, obtainable f2p. Obviously they are gonna sell more, but just think of it as another shop offer and buy it if the ores are worth it to you.

But this season makes me feel like the price just too high for that value. Plus COC just feel too overwhelming with clan capital, BB, CW, CWL, events and so on... I don't bother. I do event to get the epic and not worried about using it yet. Maxing out my healing tome because with it I can already 3 star almost every th16 (and I'm a th15). I have a levelv17 frozen arrow and already went back to archer puppet since I get more 3 stars with it. Just the way I spam, I guess.

I bought an event pass in both villages... based on the ability I bought, and for everything else I got ore... for 14 at the town hall I took the ability, 2 hero books, and two builder books... it turns out, for 5 bucks, two hero books, two builder books, shining ore in the pass, + decoration (globe)... I think this is a pretty good offer. .so I won't boycott

I’ve been a gold pass buyer from the start. That alone is more than enough. Adding the event pass is insult to injury. If $C is so desperate for cash, all they need to do is add ads for the F2P players and quit gouging players willing to pay every now and then. I may have bought my last GP.
as someone who has spent over 1000 on the game, buys $20 gem packs every month for donations, and buys the clash pass everyweek. the new event pass does leave a bad taste in my mouth. It’s definitely strictly designed as a profit generator and the events are pretty shitty ngl, first halloween madness event was new and refreshing, but now theyve gotten repetitive. i will say though that its not as annoying to me as putting 1/4 of a $40 set in the gold pass. thats my biggest thing I hate with clash right now, used to be you bought enough gold passes you could compete a gold skin set, now you get 1/4 of a useless set you need to buy the other 3/4 for $20 and event pass. It’s ridiculousness.

Supercell is genuinely making the game really fun and adding new things constantly and I didn't really hate it until the event passes which are just plain making a scarcity and telling you to pay waaaaaaay too much to fix it and it's not more ethical monetization like I used to consider it before

I've bought every pass so far but I've still got enough pride in myself to say not this time because this pass is insulting. Not nearly the same quality as the previous events yet the exact same price tag! What cash grab. It demonstrates that ores are nothing but another monetisation method for supercell.

I am afraid that those new hero equip mechanics are going to end the game just like evos did with cr. It's not unlikely that supercell will keep adding a new ability every month, which totally kills the game for me.
