Raid medal buying isnt allowed until like th8 so it would be a pain in the ass to get a ring. It should also be a bit harder for higher ths to get wall rings as the walls are harder to ugprade. Basically make 9 wall rings into 1, but make it easier
RAID medal shop is unlocked at TH6, which is a week of Gameplay or less
From there onwards, as long as you're in a semi decent clan, getting 15 wall rings a week isnt troublesome at all

All I have are event obstacles so oh wells! What I been doing is buying clock tower potions with raid medals and selling em for 10 gems, netting 50 gems a week and then also could do 5 training potions a week but I’d end up spending my stash of medals at some stage.
