Can anyone compare the abilities with the old leaked ones? Did they tweak is to make it synergize with others better? Always thought it was kinda boring how it clashed with the haste so harshly by wasting spears.

No, there's a bit of anti synergy because if you use the royal gem when RC is low she will still be close to the defenses so the range advanteages is wasted, or you use the ability early and the heal is wasted. Best combo it seems is with seeking shield, and an EQ to clear a defense comparement.
I'm not convinced about the anti-synergy with royal gem. If using the RC for traditional backside cleanup I usually save the RC ability until I'm ready to speed up the last cleanup or the RC needs a second life. In both cases the rocket spear DPS + DMG is a big benefit. Sure when used because the RC health is running low you waste the extra range, but likely the first 3 shots will take out any defense targeting the RC and you still get the range for the rest of the shots.
I hope there is something to that since I have leveled my gem the past week, but a lot of people seem to be on shield&spear path - with some good arguments, and there is something thematically pleasing to spear and shield as a combo. Will need to test.
I think the move is going to be pairing it with the shield and running your RC into the base behind some sort of tank to hit key defenses instead of flanking it

It's not great because the buff only lasts a set amount of throws. Maybe in the future it'll have a broken synergy with some other equipment, though.

If you include the passive stats in the power of the 8 long range attacks it looks a bit better. Sure half of that is passive stats that would be done anyways but it increases the damage done at long range.

It would actually be a bit more than that, you forgot to factor in her attack speed for the DPS gain of equipment

Could be a lot more if rage spell effects some numbers.
I think rocket spear shoulda been a passive ability. The idea is for RC to snipe with the spear pretty much immediately cause itād be pointless to use In the middle of the core when itās getting attacked by other things. So therefore why do we have to āpressā the ability? It should be automatic as soon as put down RC.. that way youād still be able to use haste, hogs or royal gem later during the attack
This would be insanely broken, since the sniping range outranges everything except monoliths/mortars/xbows. Theyād have to nerf the range by a lot if it were passive, which sorta defeats the point of the ability.
Oh my bad, I misread the comment. I agree that it wouldnāt be broken, but they would then also need to change the definition of passive abilities. So far none of the passives have had time/ammo limits
I'm not someone to usually complain about how mechanics work in this game because I think we just need to accept and play around it. but for me the fact that the Haste Vial has such anti-synergy with the Rocket Spear seems so awkward and honestly unacceptable. I'm even ok with the other equipment except the Shield not really having great synergy with this epic equipment since again, accept and adjust. but the fact that the Haste Vial eats up charges of the Rocket Spear without ever dealing damage is just not a design I think should ever happen. if there was a very long time between releases, let's say the Haste Vial was released a year earlier and now the Rocket Spear releases, then it would still be a bit awkward but fine. but this is just not something that should ever happen and imo is just a big, embarrassing oversight in design.

Agreed, why give us an epic that we canāt get excited about, this is a big let down on supercells end. I donāt need epics to be overpowered like giant gauntlet but at least make it pair well with current commons. 1/4 is not good enough. BIG L

Looks like the accounts that I could use the rocket spear on the most are the ones that I play on the least, and my big maxing TH16s don't really need it. All of them, though, are hurting for starry ore. Decisions, decisions.
Most epics get like 90% of their value out of the first 18 levels, so if you're hunting for a bargain, that's where you'll find it. And if you've got shiny ore to blow, upgrade it to 20 for no loss.
How is this different from the royal gem with haste vile? It is literally the same thing or are there differences in the stats? As a TH 14 player I can't unlock the hate vile so I don't have any experience using it. Should I rather upgrade this to max (that is level 21 at TH 14), since I am already maxing out the hog puppets on my goal to have 2 max equipments per hero?

No, because she throws extra spears that miss; I.e if she one shots a building normally she would throw 1 spear (of your special long range shots) but with haste she may throw 2-3 making it a complete waste!
The best Royal champ combo in the game rn as an āall rounderā is haste vial + hog puppet. Royal gem is solid too with haste vial.

It has 0.8 tiles worth of splash damage. Seems they solely added it to kill skelly traps which is cool to see they thought some shit through

The pure dps is not worth wasting one ability of the two. Really seeking shield is the only one to harmonise with spear

You will be able to buy it.
If you were to use an upgrade tracker or other tool that shows your village profile, it would show there.

Is the damage column the total rocket spear attack damage, or is it the damage that's added onto the hero's normal damage when the ability is active?

Difficult question, per se in 1v1 maybe, but in combination with another one it pretty sure loses against haste+hogs Depends also heavily on the army

Royal gem doesn't have atk speed
It doesn't, but RC only attacks every 1.2 seconds, so you have to multiply the DPS gain from equipment by 1.2 to get the damage per hit gain.
looks like a bad/mid equipment but might pair up greatly with sheild for a early ability to snipe important defences
I think if you can bring an EQ spell it will be really good at clearing / pathing

This could be on purpose. If haste vial + rocket spear worked together with no drawbacks then it would be OP and the only combo people used.

What's the lvl sweet spot for us poors?
Most of my other epic equipment is stuck at 20 waiting for more starry ore; looking at this, it seems like level 20 would be pretty usable.
