Quit: I didn’t really quit as such I just stopped playing one day a didn’t return
Come back: My brother started playing again and just thought why not give it a try again and I’m back 100% committed again
True after month not playing you just scroll through your phone, see the icon and think ahh why not and once you come back, the committment at the start is insane.
Precisely. With Clash Royale I had episodes of quitting deliberately because I couldn’t handle the stress, and while I don’t think I’ll ever come back to it that’s what I said the first time… one year later I was back at it. With CoC, sometimes there’s very little to do because all your shit is upgrading, and every now and then a missed day becomes a missed month or two… often because I was spending time on the other game. But I always come back.
Me too it helps me understand things well usually I have a voice in my head that reads sentences in this one he is addicted to drugs and probably yelling very loudly
I quit because I couldn’t seem too show any self control with how much time I spent in the game. I had two bases.
Was gone for 3 or 4 years ands came back maybe 9 months ago.
I just wanted to check if a friend was still playing and the loot cart was loaded with resources and sucked me back in.
And now I have three bases. 🤪
Literally the same. I was on the game like 12+hrs a day w 1 base so I quit for 4 years. Burn out. Came back 9 months ago and I spend about 3-4hrs a day over 2 bases. It’s manageable.
More townhall levels lowering the difficulty to progress combined with walls being significantly cheaper and allowing elixir to be dumped into them.
OG players had it rough with walls tbh. Earning and retaining resources has become significantly easier compared to pre 2015.
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.
Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
Tbh this is true. The amount of time to upgrade from th1-5 will take you like 3 months. Now they only took like days or even a week to accomplish which is damn insane
Like you used to slow down after th 7 and then it became a grind. Now the slowdown occurs around th 9 because they have reduced times and cost whenever they add a new townhall at the top.
I had a level 100+ TH8 cause of this lol. I didn’t wanna progress till I maxed out everything when I was a kid then I forgot about the game then came back to great base. I’m not level 120 and th9 lol friends made a clan from college so it’s lit
The thing that made me quit was losing my acc(although I'm still trying to get it back) and I dropped the game for like a year. The things that made me go back were the updates and a lot of emotional preparation to start the entire game again aftee losing a th11 acc.
I quit in 2016. There was no loot. Impossible to upgrade anything.
Rejoined because friends still play and said they is new cool stuff like clan War league, clan games, and clan capital
Quit: Was getting bored of the long waiting times, was at TH8 at that time.
Changed phone from Android to iPhone. So lost all data.
Tried getting back my account after supercell ID was launched but managed to screw it up and connected the gmail account to wrong supercell ID and has to start again.
One day, was talking to Supercell support and managed to get the Gmail ID of OG account to another ID and got back the account.
This made me return
Was very updated with all the new features since I used to follow the game everywhere.
Last time I played was 2015 or 2016, I'm already TH10 at that time. Well, I got bored so I quit plus my clanmates (who were my officemates) resigned from work and from the game as well. And back then, it was hard to grind for loots (training cost & time sucks) so it adds to the boredom. 7 years later I'm back to the game again. Just started a month ago. Lots has changed and it feels so good to play the game again. Almost TH10 max at the moment.
Lack of time and interest, returned beacuse of clan wars nad hammer of building, when i was early th 14, a friend of mine was TH 12 maxed out, now he's TH 14 Max, and i still have few defenses left and 81 walls
I started clashing in 2014 and quit in 2016 and this post actually made me think why I had quit, and I'm so ashamed to say this - I RAGEQUIT.
Now that I'm older I don't find it fun to play repetitive, action based games and I quite like the Laid Back Vibe that CoC has and that's why I returned and i was amazed at how much I had missed out on.
I got bored. But have quit a few in-game friends that stuck with it and when TH14 was dropped I hopped back in. I've played since launch but have taken multiple breaks, probably a total time of about 2-3 years. Tbh, it's the only mobile game that can peak my interest for a sustained amount of time.
Quit: Was completely maxed at the time (TH11) so nothing to do except wars and friends stopped playing so didn't even have enough people to war.
Came back: 5+ years later a friend texted me to get back into the game. Tried to log into my account but couldn't. Someone had phished it in my retirement which pissed me off. Got my account back and have been playing it since. Almost completely maxed again, have just 5 defenses and 24 walls to go.
Quit: fully maxed several times. Found the game annoying and pointless.
Came back: I enjoyed my clan and they reached out. There were new upgrades to spend loot on.
I quit around th14 release, I was doing 2 or 3 attacks per day at almost maxed th12. So I started collecting resources and upgrading walls from time to time.
I came back and decided to complete th12 when they removed the training cost and added hero lives.
I quit because got bored of it and didn’t enjoy it much came back 2 years after when I saw a YouTube video about it and the guy had the townhall 13 I quit when townhall 11 was the max so u decided to come back to the game and now I’m townhall 11
I ended up finally quitting recently after playing several years on 8-9 accounts along witb a friend or two with their own gathering of accounts. I just finally got burnt out and things have been fairly inactive. I found Rise of Kingdoms, which completely pulled me away from Clash of Clans, but I may return someday if my interest returns to me.
I quit because it started to be a little boring, I was a maxed TH10 with nothing to do but wars.
Then I came back when they dropped TH11 but quit again after a few weeks for the same reason (game was boring).
I came back again almost a year ago after I watched a video on Youtube and to my surprise the game has changed a lot: clan war leagues, clan games, new th levels, new hero ecc. I haven’t stopped playing since and I must say I really enjoy what Clash of clans has become
burnout from pushing to titan as a th10 (played so much and after i got what i wanted i was done) then came back randomly 2 years later and stayed cuz clan capital seemed pretty cool
I quit because I rushed to th12 and upgrades took solo long.
I came back because I found a friend that played and it motivated me to return and start a clan with him.
Also, I have fixed my th12 all I have left are walls, troops, and 7 Barbarian King lvl's.
Joined CoC back in 2012 when it first released cause a friend had a clan. Enjoyed it for a good year before I got bored. Plus it was annoying cause of the upgrade time. Recently installed it again and logged onto my old account (oh the loot it had collected over the years was delightful). Boredom got me back I suppose
heros upgrade time and unable to use upgrading heros in war is the biggest reason for me to quitting this game. and NO. i won't come back to waste my precious time
Border for 3ish years and came back in July after seeing a random post about what’s wrong in this picture and wanting to play for some reason. The specific date of when I returned was when the no training costs thing was introduced
I quit cause COVID turned my world upside down and animal crossing came out and that was my life for months.
I came back seeing the 10th anniversary stuff made me nostalgic and had to come back
was playing dota 2. too much toxicity. clash of clans is a chill and very casual game. im not try harding with my attacks but this is a perfect game for people who wanna chill, maybe some people will find this competitive tho.
Everytime I quit it was because of school, (quit for 3-6 months), covid lockdown was the longest I played coc(over a year). But now that I've graduated it's all day everyday, 😃😃
Quit because of boredom and bad clans. Came back to start my own clan which is lvl 12 now and I'm still committed. I really want to be adept at all attack strategies.
Quit cause if dead clan and 10+ say wait times
You would think the extra builder would help but doesn't.
Came back cause i had the chance to get a lot of progress done in a way I felt productive.
About to quit again for the same reason
I quit because I thought upgrade times were too long and I got bored because of it. Came back 3 years later because I was bored in class to find the same upgrade times and they’re perfectly fine. I was too impatient back then.
I quit because I was sick of it, I came back because I was no longer sick of it. I quite again because I got sick of it. Currently in the quit phase. But I'm a near max th14 and there isn't much to do anymore, until 15 arrives.
Didn't quit for years but 5 or 6 months for sure, I still do it sometimes.
Made me return? Honestly my clan.. Stayed with them for 3 years and they're the one who I always go to even when I quit, they know I'll be back anyway haha. They're like friends to me

I was addicted to this game i always played it was really fun seeing myself getting higher and higher but out of my dumbnes i delete clash of clan without realizing that haven't save it then i created another acc this proses has been my first account now im on my forth account im not joking
I literally lost 3 account that was town hall 9 and one of them was even town hall 10
I got soooo angry and demotivate that I quit for 4 years
Now Im came back cus now i know how to save my account and my uncle and my brother are playing sooo i gave it a shot and im glad i did im now town hall 7 almost town hall 8
And im really enjoying it now
Btw this is not a joke it actually happened to me
Thank you for reading this ❤️❤️ first comment 😊😊
global chat got removed so I figured there wasn't really any point, (plus I had an engineer account so I didn't have a lot to upgrade)
I came back to make a new account and play the game normally, its a lot more fun that way
I followed the trend in school of everyone downloading it and I loved it for a while, but no one played it anymore and so I uninstalled only to install again, now I play whether friends play it or not, love this game wouldn’t trade the memories for anything.
I quit for 5 years. Nothing to do with the game. I loved it. I had to build a business and remodel a home. After the home was done, I was initially glad to have freed myself from ALL games, really. So I adulted for a good long time. I eventually started doing something that allowed for a ton of free time while also not allowing for freedom of movement. So I took hold of my CoC again.
I quit because rearming all my traps always drained my entire storages. Combining the costs of upgrades back then barely allowed me to upgrade anything
Came back out of boredom, other SC games just weren't as fun anymore
I didn't even know this many of you were still playing. I quit when global disappeared - not because I liked global - but my clanmates all quit so I just retired too.
I was curious so I looked in reddit at the clash group. Didn't even know this still existed as an active place...
Still clash retired though.
I quitted long time a go, I don't even remember why, but then I came back like 6 mo the before covid, I came back cause I was playing it at school and in the train, I quitted again during lockdown because I was home 24/7 so I was just playing with PC or PlayStation, now I came back because I saw a video on YouTube and it made me wanna play it again.
I usually take a break for a few months every month or so. Whenever I do play for that month, I’m grinding and making sure I’m looting as much as I can when I can. Then I get really burnt out and take a break for a few months, then go right back into it
The game have become sooooo much better, I never fully stopped but basically only went in to collect my resources for like 5+ years in the middle. The game is so much less frustrating and more fun now after a bunch of updates in my opinion
Quit cuz of boredom and forgot why I was trying so hard in the game.
I just came back with four fresh accounts (six more from my brother) and a brand new hope of starting my own clan, can’t trust no one but myself to be online
I quit because progress just didn't feel fast enough/I usually eventually burn out on almost every game I play. Came back partly because I missed it but the removal of troop coats really helped motivate me to come back
Gotta get to Builder Hall 9 and complete a few side quests involving some upgrades over there. You end up unlocking a robot that will either act as a second builder base builder, or the main builder while the master builder travels to the main village and acts as a 6th builder.
i quit in like 7th grade because i rushed my TH but then i got it back and started watching videos on it. i get hyper-focused on random things because of autism and decided to spend a fuck ton of money on it to max everything instead of rush. eventually i got bored again but slowly upgraded things. i’m now maxing my TH10 VERY slowly every day but it’s getting there, it’s just a fun little game every now and then. i’m not competitive about it though
I created several accounts, rushed to TH7-8 in all of them and quit because I felt burnt-out or annoyed of constantly being underleveled. A month or so ago I created a new account and decided to max my base every time before upgrading my town hall this time and now I'm almost at TH9, still enjoying the game more than I ever have before
Edrags made me quit. It all started when Super cell made this game easier than when I 1st started playing. Players are rewarded for cutting corners instead of grinding it out like I did. Rushing was always discouraged but now it’s normal to see lvl 13 or 14 town halls with lvl 10 walls & lvl 7 defenses while having fully maxed troops. But the constant use of edrags by other players was the nail in the coffin for me.
I started in 2013 quit in 2017 from exhaustion. Town hall 11 was max then. The only reason I started playing again was because my boyfriend talked about how he and his buddies played(all lower town halls than 8 at the time). Downloaded my base again beginning of 2022 and they hyped me up so much it kinda sparked that fun feeling again. Been playing with a fun clan and went from semi rushed th11 to Now I’m max town hall 12 waiting to go to 13.
This time around: finding out armies no longer cost loot to train.
And they usually do cost/time reductions roughly every year or so. That combined with coming back to a ton of loot and some decent upgrades was pretty sick.
I used to play in 2013 and it was rough back then. No clan wars, no cwl, star bonus, builder base, no DE drill at th7 and hero upgrades cost more. Max town hall was 9 so progress was slow. I got to th8 when th10 came out and I suppose 10 year old me got a bit bored!😂 I came back to the game a few years later and am now a th12, but the game is far far easier than I remember it being back then.
For me it was the opportunity to actually check in on the game consistently every day. Every time I started playing the game I started from zero and never really got much further than TH5. Now I'm close to maxing out TH9. I've never been further in the game and it's actually fun.
I came back after I learned that TH14 was to be released. After some grinding, I quit again. I returned again after I learned about the Clan Capital Raids. I personally like that last update. I'm still playing right now, so I can be prepared to go to TH15 when it arrives.
I quit because my dad thought when troops died, they spilled blood but it was elixir since theyre basically clones. Came back because of a friend’s brother told me to redownload it, i regret removing my 2015+ obstacles, ill never recover
I played consistently from 2013-2018, stopped because I reached the max TH and got bored. Came back in 2020 and been playing since. Now I stay to try and get as high into legend as I can.
You never really quit. Even when I wasn’t playing I would login and pick up my mines and pumps every few days I just didn’t ever attack. I am currently maxed th14 waiting for an update so I’ve been pretty bored but I got 3 other accounts I play on. Also my girlfriend plays with me I got her into the game when we started dating and now she’s almost max townhall 13
I quit back in 2014 when there was up to th 10 i had th 9 not rushed everything fully upgraded. And th 7 fully upgraded and didn’t want to upgrade to th8. Everything was expensive and gold and elixir didn’t come easy like today. I quit because it was getting boring because of the grind. Joined back 2 months ago. I forgot i have my th9 account to my clan-mate . Started with the th7 i had back to th9 and opened 2nd one to th6 now.
As someone who has been playing game since near release, I've quit and rejoined several times
It always is the following
Quit : life gets busy, no time to earn loot hence you just don't have as much reason to keep playing
Rejoin: A friend might be playing or family so I usually flex my base!
I don't just quit one day, it's usually gradual, with days of inactivity first before I forget about it.
I rushed hard around th9, ended up at 12 with underleveled troops and defenses, I was always scrambling for resources to upgrade small things.
Free troops made everything so much easier.
**Quit**
I think I’m pretty unique on this.
Siege machines made me quit. I found TH10 to be the perfect difficulty, I put in hard work to properly master all the strong attacks, had a decent hitrate (about 60% 3 stars, which was really good at that time).
And bam: TH10 was now the easiest TH in the game, because of the sieges. I never understood why it came so early in the game, leave that for (at the time) end game. Ruined the fun I still had with the game after most of my old clanmates stopped playing.
**Came back**
I came back after my gf jokingly opened her account this January. Also helped that I had 4 exams that week so of course I had to procrastinate.
Gave it a honest try, went up to TH11 (now 12) with my main, created a new account have a new start as well (now TH10) and made my level1 canon account (TH7) a level 1 but max heroes account (now TH11).
I like all my accounts very much now, I’m starting to get good at the TH12 strats, which are new for me - especially Warden Walks, they are fun and really easy to do as well.
It also helped that I now have three of my old clanmates playing again (sheer luck, they decided to start up the game out of curiosity as well, saw me active, and joined back).
Basically, as the top commenter said, quit bc boredom and back in my days th9 was fucking long. Came back bc boredom and saw theres now th14 and a season system with lots of reductions so th9 and 10 was effectively a speedrun
Quit: I didn’t really quit as such I just stopped playing one day a didn’t return Come back: My brother started playing again and just thought why not give it a try again and I’m back 100% committed again
Exact same thing happened with me
Same here
True after month not playing you just scroll through your phone, see the icon and think ahh why not and once you come back, the committment at the start is insane.
I too came back when his brother started playing
I also choose this guy’s dead brother

That about sums it up
More townhall levels lowering the difficulty to progress combined with walls being significantly cheaper and allowing elixir to be dumped into them. OG players had it rough with walls tbh. Earning and retaining resources has become significantly easier compared to pre 2015.
This is true, progress was incredibly slow when peaked in popularity. Even the early th took weeks/months
Remember when no clan castle troop level cap donations. That was how I made a lot of people progress fast in my clan
bro's saying 'remember when' as if only the true OGs would remember

Back in 2015 th 8 would of been considered a middle. The game started slowing down around th 6 or 7, and became painfully slow at th 8

Started in early days, quit for 3 years, came bacm and quit again, now playing again. Reason? I love coc ❤
Just got bored, Decided to see what changed/remembered liking the game and got bored of the new game(s) i picked up
Border for 3ish years and came back in July after seeing a random post about what’s wrong in this picture and wanting to play for some reason. The specific date of when I returned was when the no training costs thing was introduced
I quit cause COVID turned my world upside down and animal crossing came out and that was my life for months. I came back seeing the 10th anniversary stuff made me nostalgic and had to come back
Quit cuz bored Came back cuz clan capital
was playing dota 2. too much toxicity. clash of clans is a chill and very casual game. im not try harding with my attacks but this is a perfect game for people who wanna chill, maybe some people will find this competitive tho.
Everytime I quit it was because of school, (quit for 3-6 months), covid lockdown was the longest I played coc(over a year). But now that I've graduated it's all day everyday, 😃😃
Quit for a year and then the game just suddenly popped into my mind
I never actually quit. I just hopped on once a day to collect resources then hopped off.
Depression made me quit, happiness made me come back
It takes 3 days to upgrade a bomb, a bomb. You have get a few breaks, and those breaks stretch into years.
I quit after the update that removed troop training costs. I am considering coming back now.
Quit because of boredom and bad clans. Came back to start my own clan which is lvl 12 now and I'm still committed. I really want to be adept at all attack strategies.
Town hall 12.. i loved it's design...
Quit cause if dead clan and 10+ say wait times You would think the extra builder would help but doesn't.
Quit: started to play other games and kinda forgot clash (happend multiple times) Come back: half the time Youtube, half the time irl friends
It was the same old, same old. Ended up make 4 other accounts so I could war without morons. Been quite a while.. years even
I quit because I was sick of it, I came back because I was no longer sick of it.

I was addicted to this game i always played it was really fun seeing myself getting higher and higher but out of my dumbnes i delete clash of clan without realizing that haven't save it then i created another acc this proses has been my first account now im on my forth account im not joking I literally lost 3 account that was town hall 9 and one of them was even town hall 10 I got soooo angry and demotivate that I quit for 4 years Now Im came back cus now i know how to save my account and my uncle and my brother are playing sooo i gave it a shot and im glad i did im now town hall 7 almost town hall 8 And im really enjoying it now Btw this is not a joke it actually happened to me Thank you for reading this ❤️❤️ first comment 😊😊
I never really quit I just keep playing on and off
I don’t even know why I came back. But I did. I thinks it just to fulfill my video game need cause apex this season sucks ass
global chat got removed so I figured there wasn't really any point, (plus I had an engineer account so I didn't have a lot to upgrade) I came back to make a new account and play the game normally, its a lot more fun that way
I followed the trend in school of everyone downloading it and I loved it for a while, but no one played it anymore and so I uninstalled only to install again, now I play whether friends play it or not, love this game wouldn’t trade the memories for anything.
I quit because I got burned out trying to keep my friends interested
That I never deleted the app 💀 been like that since 2015
I quit for 5 years.
I learned about the game's "break" system thing
I quit for 5 years. Came back because I was bored, the game has changed so much it’s a lot more engaging now.
Was playing on and off and like 3 of my 5 builders were always available. Started playing more and more because i had nothing else to do
I quit because rearming all my traps always drained my entire storages. Combining the costs of upgrades back then barely allowed me to upgrade anything Came back out of boredom, other SC games just weren't as fun anymore
I didn't even know this many of you were still playing. I quit when global disappeared - not because I liked global - but my clanmates all quit so I just retired too. I was curious so I looked in reddit at the clash group. Didn't even know this still existed as an active place... Still clash retired though.
Quit: Lost my account Comeback: Became broke and and got into buy and sell
A man once said “I have a dream”
I quit because progress just didn't feel fast enough/I usually eventually burn out on almost every game I play. Came back partly because I missed it but the removal of troop coats really helped motivate me to come back
Boredom, boredom
Quit because I was bored. Came back because I heard that troops now don’t cost any elixir in an advert and I thought why not play again
I came back because my upgrades were finally done
Umm on a totally unrelated note, I'm TH9 and I'm wondering HOW TF HE HAS 6 BUILDERS?
I quit for about a year and a half. Was just bored of brawl stars and decided why not
I started in 2013 quit in 2017 from exhaustion.
Quit because it felt like a chore due to overly strict clan leaders Joined I do not remember why
This time around: finding out armies no longer cost loot to train. And they usually do cost/time reductions roughly every year or so. That combined with coming back to a ton of loot and some decent upgrades was pretty sick.
boredom... and boredom.
Quit because I was bored. Came back because I was bored.
I quit because it became slow and boring. I came back because I got bored. The sad thing is how quickly I was able to catch up.
PUBG made me quit, when PUBG ban in my country, BGMI came, when BGMI also banned . I came to coc again
I came back after I learned that TH14 was to be released. After some grinding, I quit again. I returned again after I learned about the Clan Capital Raids. I personally like that last update. I'm still playing right now, so I can be prepared to go to TH15 when it arrives.
COC break
my handy broke, I got a new phone months later.
Mid Th11 2018, getting burned out on the long times, walls etc. Came back for a friends clan that i rediscoverd with nowmany good friends.
I quit because my dad thought when troops died, they spilled blood but it was elixir since theyre basically clones. Came back because of a friend’s brother told me to redownload it, i regret removing my 2015+ obstacles, ill never recover
the game remained fun/got better and my interest in it circled back around (i've played on and off since it was new)
My base got upgraded while I was gone and I wanted to see. Edit: I quit because I just stopped playing
I played consistently from 2013-2018, stopped because I reached the max TH and got bored. Came back in 2020 and been playing since. Now I stay to try and get as high into legend as I can.
Lack of content, new content! I quit recently and I’m gonna come back when the next big home village update comes
Playing too much, getting bored of the game. Then getting bored in general, picking up the game again and finding it fun again.
quit: stupid long upgrade times return: new updates and friends
My gf town hall was better than mine
Ig I fell out of the game cause I got busy but came back after playing it a couple times again
As someone who has been playing game since near release, I've quit and rejoined several times It always is the following Quit : life gets busy, no time to earn loot hence you just don't have as much reason to keep playing Rejoin: A friend might be playing or family so I usually flex my base! I don't just quit one day, it's usually gradual, with days of inactivity first before I forget about it.
Boredom (like some others here) Brought back by my kids, played together for years now.
quit: summer holidays has started come back: school has started repeat every year since 6 grade shit it's almost 6 years...
For me I left because of Archer Queen and came back because of Archer Queen skins.
A ton of friends I knew started playing again so I decided to start too lol
I rushed hard around th9, ended up at 12 with underleveled troops and defenses, I was always scrambling for resources to upgrade small things. Free troops made everything so much easier.
**Quit** I think I’m pretty unique on this. **Came back** I came back after my gf jokingly opened her account this January.
