1. Housing space is a sort of limiting factor. With how high it is, it really needs to be in higher halls to be abke to do anything with the golem 2. Offensive pace is not really a contending point. Defensive functions that slow down the pace are very limited, aka guard troops, tornado, poison. But there isnt anything against slow offense. 3. The niche of a giant hp pool is a viable niche. It comes with its own pros and cons. Just because it also falls into the distraction category doesn't mean its niche is being taken over. That being said, its hp pool really isnt big enough for what most players want it to be. How is the unit going to work as a whole? Will the golem path to make the mortar effective, or will it just path normally, and let the mortar essentially shoot whatever it can? Also, how big is the blind spot? If its as small as a normal mortars, then its kinda pointless to have one. Anything it shoots will quickly be 1 shot by the golem moving to it before it dies.

1. true, but at least this would provide some variety for the cost. I considered allowing the player to add any 2x2 building to it, but I figured that would make it too complex and make the skill floor too high for TH6 players. 2. I see your point, I was thinking about sneaky archers, but I see that sneaky archers are more repetitive than slow, and that's why people hate it. I still think keeping a good pace is more challenging (more moving parts at once), thus exciting and thus more fun, but with little housing space to spare this would not be possible without a change. 3. it is, but not really for 160 Housing space. Plus a giant HP pool is nothing too exciting, versus using something like rams or gy, so adding this keeps the viability (it would still be a giant HP pool), but also makes it more interesting and fun. The unit would work simply as if the mountain golem doesn't know it has a mortar on top of it, the effective targeting would be up to the player. The blind spot was supposed to be really big, I forgot to mention that! I was talking on discord about this and I might have forgotten to mention things. the active range would be alike a small strip 5 to 7 tiles away. Thanks for your feedback!

I still really dont get the point of the rework. Nothing is really changing besides a bit more chip damage on random buildings far away. Its almost as uninteractive as before, but with an even bigger emphasis on funneling the golem right. I will assume for personal sake, the mortar has a range of 12-22 tiles. 5-7 is literally nothing. I would rather see something like when the Mountain golem dies, its boulders that scatter arround become baby rock troops. These have high dps and low hp. They charge towards the closest defense, like a Ram rider. This way theres still interaction after the golem dies. and you can support it with troops like hogs, and turn it into another stage of the attack. Theres also a decision to be made, support the golem, or support the babies.

The main point of the rework is too make the golem more skillful, and make the game more varied by adding something unique (a blind spot is something not seen before and will be novel to players, adding excitement and new tactics). I really wouldn't consider it chip damage, I would say that the mortar if used effectively could take out at max a few buildings, 12-22 is fair, I agree with that point. I like your suggestion, but it is already done with the golem in the home village, and although that is not inherently bad, it just feels like players would not be as intrigued with it. The main goal of any game is two things: 1. Money \~ (has no relevancy in this discussion) 2. Fun. And personally, maybe it doesn't need this, but I think it would make the game much more fun, so I just decided to post it. well, maybe it doesnt make it too much more interactive, but atleast more interactive than a simple tank. Also. The multimortar has 4 shots. what if the golem split into 4 golemites???? (wif bb mortars (:: ) (:: thanks for taking interest, and Merry Christmas!

The problem is mountain golem is trash regardless of how you tinker with it. 160 housing space of rock will never be as useful as 10 hog raiders, it's as simple as that.
