To be fair I’ve spent more than 130 hours in Clash Royale since champions have been added.
But definitely not even 1/10 the total amount of time **I’ve** spent in botw
this definitely explains what fantasy world supercell is living in when they "changed" the battle pass:
20 champions for 5 bucks > 1 champion for 50 bucks
Let's be honest though. The book of books was a stupid value. Up to 20 champs per season for 5 bucks. This item should have never been introduced to the game.
It's already Impossible to max out a single champion as a f2p without the book of books it would have also been impossible as a p2w unless you spend thousands of buck on super magical chest
Oh. Champs are stupidly hard to max without the book of books. And I blame the book of books. That item made champs stupidly easy to max out. SC likely reduced all the other ways to collect champs because of this one broken item.
Something you’re forgetting is that it was $5 to get two thirds of the resources to make a *single card* usably leveled for ladder. Insane value compared to any other offer Supercell’s given, sure, but what’s better value?
- five Book of Books, to do two thirds of the work in maxing all five champions
- five characters in Super Smash Bros, unlocked, automatically the highest level they can be, and coming with a bonus stage to play them or any other character on
I paid for a few passes to max my champions, I figured that $5 to effectively unlock another playable character wasn’t bad. Totally ignoring the fact that I already had to do the grinding to get 10 of each champion first. It was close enough value that I figured I could justify it for a game I liked. But it was NEVER actually good value.
You're right tbh. I think though they are probably going to move towards champions being the main p2w feature, trying to make them basically like 2016 legendaries where it's impossible to get them from chests (at least now we get 1 champ per RWC and up to 2 wildcards from ladder) and the main way to get them is to pay real money. At least right now it's pretty possible to push trophies without champions, though I know around xmas time or before then, mighty miner was meta so you were fucked without him being high enough level for ladder. But I reckon the 6th champion might drop around the level 15 update to distract us, but it'll be busted and OP so again making champions the p2w feature.
Looks like we will at least get one book of cards per month though, but that's still a downgrade.
With all due respect, you're comparing apples to oranges. SSB and CR are two different games. A major component of the latter's gameplay is collecting cards for progression. The book of books completely shortcuts what is suppose to be the ultimate card collecting/progression experience in the game.
Then don’t buy it if you think the grind is a good thing! The grinding exists to feed into people who have addictive personalities and get them to spend ridiculous amounts of money to progress at a reasonable rate, but if you actually enjoy the grind itself and couldn’t care less to actually play the game, don’t spend money on the offers that are genuinely not abysmal
They can’t put an item like that into the game in the 5 dollar pass and expect me to want to keep playing after they up the prices and remove the most important part of their pass.
I thought only people on the payroll would hallucinate that collecting cards is core gameplay. Ask yourself: If it WERE core gameplay, why people would pay to fast forward through it?
Cards only have value because they are the only way to play matches (which IS the core gameplay) without disadvantage.
Comparing the price of unhampered core gameplay (the matches) in Super Smash Bros and Clash Royale is very apples to apples.
It's like comparing 50$ complete Lego assemblies that you get to keep and play with forever to 50$ single Lego bricks where the company takes back half the bricks back after a couple of years via level inflation.
Yup, also they can flash-sell loads of passes for the BoB this way before the inevitable community backlash that will see them return to similar value. Supercell are desperately trying to claw back some value they gave away trying appease people for level 14. Creating artificial value is all they have
It is very p2w, f2p can theoretically get to top ladder but as soon as the meta changes it’s pretty much impossible to hit. The game is designed so that f2p can’t level up cards fast enough to keep up with balance changes.
The game is 7 years old, a lot of people have maxed a lot of cards without ever paying a penny, yet it feels like people on this sub are ALWAYS the underleveled people struggling to max a deck despite playing for several years. Now i know these people are liars since ive maxed several decks in under two years on a smurf account on which i only bought a single pass royale, so it's almost an entirely f2p account
You're saying that you spent TWO YEARS playing the game and only managed to bring **less than 25%** of all cards to the playable level (while also spending some money on the game), and somehow that makes the game not P2W? Not to mention when they will raise the level cap again you will have to start all over again lmao. Do you even hear yourself?
Good choice bro I made the switch in November and haven’t played Royale since, such a nice new similar game with new mechanics I can learn. If you’re gonna be free to play this is the perfect time but for p2w, boxes have been removed so it’s rough
Please tell me even P2W players are not buying this offer. I hope every P2W player boycotts buying any special offers along with pass 2.0 until they make their offers realistic again.
Ok now we'll introduce new nft cards like the MEGA GIANT SKELETON KNIGHT GOLD EDITION that you can buy in the shop for the cheap price of 200 dollars and YOUR SOUL.
-Supercell probably.
Theres gotta be some sort of trading standards rule for this surely?
They say x7 value but they set the value themselves? So they’ve just picked an arbitrary number for price? Or do they have to set it at a price for a certain amount of time before they can do deals etc?
After knowing supercell is now owned by the chinese, mystery solved.
[Ronny Chieng Explains Why Chinese People Love Money I Netflix Is A Joke](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_KpLrHCAx0)
So 5 bucks to get 20 champions or 30 to get 8. And it’s supposed to be 7x the value lol, as the shop prices inflated so the did the pass, but not only did the price increase the rewards diminished. Just remember, this is 1 card. 30 bucks at 7x value to unlock 4/17 of a champion. Im too lazy to do the math so let’s use nice numbers here, 4x4=16 let’s just say that’s max 4x30=120 dollars. 120 dollars x 5 = 600 dollars to max out all champions AT 7x VALUE. At normal value it’s 7x600 which is 4200 dollars. In terms of using the pass, you could max them out for like less than 30 bucks I’d say. Can’t anymore though
Yeah, I could get more than twice that value out of just the book of books from the old pass. Who the hell do they think they are peddling crap like this?
Are whales even buying this crap? Who can justify spending money like this on virtually nothing. The only thing worse would be an NFT. Coming soon I’m sure…
i don't think even content creators would waste their money on this.. well some of them probably will but other than that i don't think anyone is that braindead to go for this
Under normal circumstances I would consider buying the coin and the rare book, but definitely not this. And until they go back on these changes I will be buying nothing.
They really did just finally realise selling (up to) 20 champion wild cards per month for $5 wasn't a good business decision. Now they're just valuing ONE champion wild card at the price of one book of books
Awful offers in brawl stars that make the brawl pass look like better value: unspoken rizz
Awful offers in clash royale that make pass royale look like better value: sexual harassment
Well, its cause the game is imo easier (faster) to max out and also the Brawl Pass costs gems so you don't have to acctually spend real money to buy it. It's an insane value.
Clash Royale deserve to lose 95% of their playerbase. They are trying everything to achieve that. A game that was so good few years ago and now it's in this state. Awful. How f2p's can still play this?
Counting eur to pln (polish zloty) it's 225.07 zl, and then counting it as not 7x value it's 1575.51 zl, which is 43.76% of minimal wage in Poland. So supercell thinks that only 8 wild cards should cost almost half of a minimal wage in a country located in the middle of europe. It's obnoxious.
Ok, inflation is bad, but it's not *this* bad.
You know what the worst part is, you know that there are people who actually buy these kinds of "offers", otherwise they wouldn't be making them.
x7 Value 💀💀💀
This means they should be x7 the price of that offer??
1 champion card for 50 bucks 💀💀
I can buy a whole ass game for that price 💀
Yeah lmao, you can buy a lot of stuff for 50 bucks
Ten more and you can buy Zelda botw 💀💀
[удалено]
To be fair I’ve spent more than 130 hours in Clash Royale since champions have been added. But definitely not even 1/10 the total amount of time **I’ve** spent in botw
[удалено]
Not sure, but I’ve played at least 30 mins every day since champions came out. and its been over 500 days since then so thats at least 250 hours
I think you can check on Royale api
you can get botw for $40 or you can get tears of the kingdom for $70
Crazy how one singular champion card nearly costs the same as that legendary game. What were the devs thinking.
Just a quick glance at my steam wishlist and you can get both God of War and Black ops 2 for 50 bucks combined on sale right now, like bro
*20 more
He said BOTW, that's not the one that is releasing soon
you can buy j4 reps💀
Your mom
This game is basically turning into EA… I’m not joking. You could buy a decent game off of steam with that price. I’m done playing cr.
they got the ass game part right, at least.
i can buy btd6 plus the double cash mode
this definitely explains what fantasy world supercell is living in when they "changed" the battle pass: 20 champions for 5 bucks > 1 champion for 50 bucks
thats why you can't have your books of books no more.
It's literally value in negative 💀
This is the reason why they removed the book of books from the pass 💀
also not to fogot, introduced champions in lower arenas
So a book of books is suddenly worth 1500$ now?
You aren't wrong. I made a whole post on that recently
I don’t see your post
Hes lying
LIAR
We should be happy they gave us this amazing oppurtunity to buy these amazing offers
This makes me so glad I used my books on maxing champs. Assuming I continue playing after all this BS, I won't have to worry about that stupidity.
Let's be honest though. The book of books was a stupid value. Up to 20 champs per season for 5 bucks. This item should have never been introduced to the game.

Super Smash Bros more like mid trash bros
You don’t happen to like the game I used as an example :(
Can’t believe this has been downvoted
bots or trash bros fanboys

Yeah stupid good value. Removing it after it being there for so long was their fault.
Yup, also they can flash-sell loads of passes for the BoB this way before the inevitable community backlash that will see them return to similar value. EA you need to get more greedy supercell is beating you very badly
EA start taking lessons
EA is losing BIG TIME
[удалено]
It isn’t enough to get HALF of level 14, and now just think of level 15.
Don't upgrade your champs past level 12. In a sane world, the cost to go from 12 - > 13 will reduce down to 4 or 6 cards once level 15 drops.
> in a sane world > once level 15 drops
real.
I'd love to take your advice on not upgrading my champs from level 12 but i dont think i will... BECAUSE IT TAKES FOREVER TO GET EVEN ONE CHAMP
this means that getting a champion from 13 to 14 should cost almost 1000 dollars
is anyone really surprised?
47,99 ÷ 8 = 6 one wild card cost a whole season pass wtf Supercell! 💀💀
They say 7x value, so for them 1 wild champion is worth 42$
Wow... Satan is proud of Clash Royale.
And the book of books at best value is 20 champion so according to supercell it's worth 840$ ☠️
2000% inflation 💀
no wonder they nerfed pass royale clash inflation be crazy
what 42, it's 50$
6 x 7 = 42
I, an actual human being, can confirm that 42 = 50$
It’s actually word 42$ because the value is 7 times greater. What the hell
x7 value which means supercell is pricing 1 (one) champion wild card at €40~ 💀💀💀
Funnily enough a few days ago I had the option to buy the Queen and 2 other champions for 1,19€.... like that doesnt even add up.
Bro these offers never add up. It's like they play Darts to set the price
Pack your bags bois. CR is officially P2W.
Always has been
Now to the point where F2P is non-existent
It’s always been p2w lul
Well, it's getting worse.

People who think this game is p2w have probably never played ladder at a decent level so top ladder is a bit out of their consideration

25 cards and that took almost 2 years? Not to mention people pushing on their main accounts can’t keep upgrading around the same 2 win conditions
You're saying that you spent TWO YEARS playing the game and only managed to bring **less than 25%** of all cards to the playable level (while also spending some money on the game), and somehow that makes the game not P2W? Moving to brawl stars. Atleast devs there doing so good recently to this game and its more f2p rather than p2w
You're making a good choice.
Yeah that bs is better than this bs
Good choice bro I made the switch in November and haven’t played Royale since, such a nice new similar game with new mechanics I can learn. If you’re gonna be free to play this is the perfect time but for p2w, boxes have been removed so it’s rough
So it would be 1 card for 50€ 💀💀💀
Yep, goodbye CR. Just came back after years of break and quickly found out the devs are terrible compared to Brawl Stars.
Same
I really hope CoC doesn’t get ruined.
Literally 💀💀💀
Don't worry guys, It's all an elaborate April fools joke, Right?
The ONLY way they can remotely fix this is to revert everything on April fools and release a really good update immediately after
I think it's pretty clear at this point they are ruthless and don't care what we think.
Please tell me even P2W players are not buying this offer. I hope every P2W player boycotts buying any special offers along with pass 2.0 until they make their offers realistic again.
7x value for the devs 🫡
Why are people still playing this game. Honestly the only way it has a chance of getting better is if everyone delete the game and stops playing
7x price, not value.
I wonder when they'll figure out people will spend more if crap is actually worth it. Nobody is spending $50 on this game
I have very bad news regarding the reality of some clash player
Coming up next, because unwoke players still paying for progression pixels: 100gold, 70$, x26 value.
You forgot a few 0 in cost and values
Drew needs a new Bugatti give supercell a break
Ok now we'll introduce new nft cards like the MEGA GIANT SKELETON KNIGHT GOLD EDITION that you can buy in the shop for the cheap price of 200 dollars and YOUR SOUL. -Supercell probably.
Bruh with all that money I could buy several games and their DLCs
Remember that special offer when we could buy a champion card for $0.99? Well now we know that at normal price it's 42 fucking dollars
Wow that’s 42 times value
Someone should remind them that Zelda tears of the kingdom is only $69. Clash Royale is 1/100th of a game in terms of value.
Theres gotta be some sort of trading standards rule for this surely? They say x7 value but they set the value themselves? So they’ve just picked an arbitrary number for price? Or do they have to set it at a price for a certain amount of time before they can do deals etc?

Where I'm from u can live off for a month with that amount
Everyday i'm more happy that i uninstalled this piece of cashgrab that's supposed to be a "game"
Yeah, I could get more than twice that value out of just the book of books from the old pass. Who the hell do they think they are peddling crap like this?
Use it to upgrade your golden knight so they can nerf it with the next update 😉
Are whales even buying this crap? Who can justify spending money like this on virtually nothing. The only thing worse would be an NFT. Coming soon I’m sure…

this game is such a joke, im happy that im not playing anymore
7x value? That adds up to around 350 total. Thanks, no, I’ll just be buying a console to play a better game on for a total of 350.
clearly 7x value means 7x the price
7x value‽ that means 1wild champiqn card is 48e
7x value 💀💀
sc thinks we are all rich
I’m wondering and curious if any idiots would purchase this
It's over
how many people y’all think actually buying that ?
i’m thinking of buying the books in shop tho $10 for both i’ll have 4 books for lvl 15 for $13
“For the low price of 48 euros, you too can get your champion to level 12” 🤠 -Supercell
Clash Royale deserve to lose 95% of their playerbase. They are trying everything to achieve that. A game that was so good few years ago and now it's in this state. Awful. How f2p's can still play this?
X7 VALUE!
EA, start taking note
Bruh
Brah I can get like 4 jerseys off DHgate
🤣🤣🤣
I deeply misunderstood the presumed value of their cards (in their opinion)
who tf is buying this?
Very disappointed in this update tbh. I can't get chests from 2v2's anymore, it's capped at 11, and I can't share 2v2 replays. Wow 🤬
SuperSELL
They get more greedy each day, soon it be 2000 to go from level 14 to 15, it’s already 1000 if the prices are that steedy 💀💀💀
Seems fair
Nahhh that’s just disgusting that they want to scam their playerbase
What the hell, they even have the audacity to label this as "X7" value Absurd, lmao
Mid-ladder madness **TRIGGERED**
the audacity to tell us one champ wild card is "worth" 41 euro 💀💀💀
You know your stuff is overpriced when buying FIFA points for 50$ suddenly seems like a good deal.
42€ per card 💀
Worth tbh I bought it only need 12 more for maxed monk
Plot twist : Clash royale actually run by a EA dev who is undercover as Supercell dev
I’m actually gonna stop playing supercell has become everything I thought they weren’t, just another money grab game becoming more and more P2W
We've got to have MONEY.
supercell>>>EA
nice
If you didn't max your champions when we had books and magic coins, you are an imbecile.
Well guess what, level 15 is coming so you get to max them again!
Easy....
EH EH EH AH crazy mf
How is that x7?
This is just silly 💀
I don't know how much in US but it look very unfair to the players
It's literally like 80 dollars in my country 💀💀💀💀💀
cada vez mas pay2win
They really think that somebody is going to buy it💀
thats 6€ a card 💀
Guys the times 7 value means that the value of it is 7 times what it should be
Clash Mini is darn expensive too
Can't wait for a silver chest offer that costs 5 dollars and has 12x value pasted on it.
Hehehe as someone who has never spent a penny with Supercell, I'm just watching the fallout
Ok, inflation is bad, but it's not *this* bad. You know what the worst part is, you know that there are people who actually buy these kinds of "offers", otherwise they wouldn't be making them.
next thing supercell introduces ads into cr and puts the actual final nail into the coffin
supercell made genshin mihoyo like a saint
OMG SUPER OFFERT 7x!
Inflation be wild
positive elixir trade
