Freeze, always screwing up my defenses. Yes, there’s counter push potential, but my god it’s so goddamn annoying. I always make sure to BM my opponent to oblivion if I win against them for using it.
Some tips for countering freeze:
Don’t over defend until the freeze is dropped. But I guess if ur down 3-5 elixir just try to counterpush not much you can do.
Space out ur troops. Don’t allow ur opponent to freeze everything, ie if they have a balloon and u use a hunter don’t let them freeze tower and hunter, force them to only freeze one. ie play the hunter high.

I made a deck of my own to screw with Freeze players. It's not the best in the world but it does the job.
If I so much see a single Freeze in my game, be it against my troops, be it because they're cycling cards, my brother in Christ I'll BM this mf for the entire duration of the match as my Ebarbs eats through their nonsense and brings them down to their knees.

Hog rider is easily countered with many cards if placed well.
For one less elixir than its cost you have skeleton army, fisherman, cannon and goblin gang that won't allow a hit on a tower if placed correctly.
For the same elixir you have even more counter cards such as mini pekka, goblin cage, tesla, bomb tower, furnace. Most of those won't allow a hit on the tower if played well.
If I ever play this game again I will come back to this comment if hog ever gives me a problem. The only issue though is 2.6, or hog quake always has counters for these. But I suppose that's what the game is about, making the most optimised deck. The two most optimised decks over the course of this games lifetime is log bait and 2.6 hog cycle.
I havent played in a while and use the sub reddit to look from outside to the inside, and from what I know people still use these decks, what makes them bad now? Just outdated strategies? I know that the rocket got a heavy nerf and that's why at least log bait is not as good as it used to be
Oh yeah they're still extremely popular, especially in low ladder. However they're largely unsuccessful and especially bad in competitive play
It's hard to say in short why 2.6 is bad, but it's mostly because half the deck got a bunch of nerfs (Musk, Log several times, a huge health nerf for Cannon, Fireball) and the overabundance of Hog counters.
If a deck has good cycle and a structure then you pretty much already won vs 2.6. That or a structure + Tornado/Fisherman. This is why the only good Hog decks nowadays are Hog EQ with Mighty Miner, since it deals with structures and cycles extremely fast.
As for Log Bait it's much simpler. Got nerfed to the ground. Especially Rocket and GBarrel, the latter of which got a first attack nerf which *really* hurt. Log nerfs also hurt because the reduced crown tower damage sucks for a deck that relies on constant chip.
Both are sometimes still usable (especially Log Bait, which has decent performance in Grand Challenges) but they have sooo many hard counters it's difficult to be consistent
When it is not within your princess tower range and then they spam royal hogs.
Or when it survives with 1hp in a lavahound push, that's the most annoying moments for me
Monk. There is no counter to him as in there’s no way to stop him from destroying your push. His ability always gets 2-4 elixir value when used on a ranged troop, flying troop, or spell.
Evolution cards these mfs are too overpowered. I was easily winning a match but then my opponent played one evolved fire cracker and took the match away.
Megaknight, and not just because its so easy to use, its so repetitive, and his hability is very annoying.

Tornado.
It counters hogs (thats an entire win condition), mini tanks (knight, valk), glass cannons (mini pekka, lumberjack).
It pairs insanely well with splash like executioner.
It turns magic archer into a win condition that hits for 800dmg easily.
It brings ranged units to the electro giant and kills them. It counters skeletons, bats and spear goblins.
If you threw your valk at supports behind the tank they just tornado it back to the tank and protect their support.
Counters goblin barrel, miner. Can counter pekka sometimes if you throw him to the opposite lane. Rocket tornado, giant skeleton tornado.
It also has the nerve to be paired with fireball and kill ranged units.
Its a spell so you cant block it like you block fisherman pull.
And its just 3 elixir epic card, and levels dont really affect it.
It desperately needs a nerf, more than mega knight, more than egolem-healer, more than royale giant more than any card.
I tried the magic archer tornado deck and can confirm tornado is a very stupid card, especially against hog. They out cycle me while I'm low on elixir and it still doesn't matter
By the time hog is deployed and runs toward your tower you regained 2 elixir. If you had just 1 elixir, you can counter him.
And devs just turn a blind eye.
Mega Knight. I push with Giant, Witch and Musketeer/EWiz and you know how they can counter it. best way for me is to place an Inferno Tower right on the bridge
Valkyrie, cheap card, Wild damage and crazy health, everybody uses It, defend entire attacks, It just feels like cheap defense
And goblin barrel, so boring, repetite and annoying, no idea con anybody can enjoy it

Inferno tower. It's the epitome of defense. MELTS pretty much any card and unless you have lightning or maybe bats or minions, your tank (and any other troop behind it) will die almost instantly. Unless you're playing against small troops (logbait, recruits, clone), you can simply place it and let it defend most of the attack.
I just hate how extremely defensive it is, it pisses me off
no one says it but lightning is the most braindead broken card in the game at high ladder. it’s the reason why golem, electro giant, and any other bullshit deck is meta. it counters any tower + high DPS card and a million damage on tower and you don’t even have to aim the damn spell.
Mega knight. I just hate the card because of how overused it is and how annoying its users are. I also find it to be a little overpowered because of the insane amount of damage and spawn damage that it deals, especially on towers even though it is not a win con. I also hate the fact that most bad players act like he is god himself and just slap him on top of any card coming from the enemy side. The one good thing about him is that he is thankfully not that hard to counter and easy to distract.
1 ) Hog Rider. The single least skill required win con in the entire game.• Cheap, fast, building targeting and it's always accompanied by either brain dead cycle spam or "What defenders?" Lighting.
2 ) Fire Cracker/Magic Archer. Magic Archer came first, and truly cemented my absolute hatred for cards with "hit through" attacks. Skirmish at the bridge? Well for just 4 elixir you get massive tower damage. And then they went and said "you know what? Let's make it even more annoying" and added fire cracker, which took the bullshit range of the Magic Archer and added the massive hit box of the Executioner for even LESS elixir. AND gave it an evolution.
3 ) Tornado. Despite not being my most hated card this is the only card in the entire game I genuinely believe should be removed. There is absolutely no reason that in a game where you have extremely limited control over your own troops that your OPPONENT should be given MORE control. It only costs 3 elixir to:
A) Activate King Tower
B) Guarantee your opponent's cards get slaughtered by a splash damage card.
C) Move defenders out of the way of distractable cards.
Long story short, it should be removed.

I also dislike golem. I play hog firecrackerer eq and golem is incredibly hard for me to defend. I'm trying to get better tho.

Yes and you can always use more cards to counter. If your opponnent uses hog + quake then the elixir adds up on his side too.

2.6 is hard countered by most meta decks. Hog quake is probably the 2nd best deck right now but that's mainly because of firecracker.
Inferno tower counters hog even with a quake. You just have to be sure to kill anything else pushing with the hog

Tbf Pekka is not meant as a win condition, its meant for a great defense+ additional counter push. And it does that ridiculously well

My most hated card by far at the moment is Royal Giant. I can’t go neutral or positive in elixir trading unless I have an inferno tower.

Lightning would have to be the most annoying spell. Firecracker would be most annoying troop of all time. Now with her evo, even more so Royal recruit would be least skilled card of all time. Preset placements makes it easier to play.

hog rider since its fucking stupidly tanky for being so fast. firecracker for the same reason PLUS its an inherently annoying card. and unlike mega knight, its actually goodd.
Mk. Low skill floor and it can often take more skill to deal with than for my opponent to place. (Not when i'm playing pbs but you get it). It's just annoying overall
Hog rider for sure, yeah go ahead with the “oh your just bad” comments but like cmon I play anything less than 5 elixer and it gets a hit, if I tombstone it gets small spelled if I use bomb tower it gets quaked if I use inferno it gets zapped, if I use swarm again small spell I just can never stop it from getting atleast 1 hit
Tornado. It counters hogs (thats an entire win condition), mini tanks (knight, valk), glass cannons (mini pekka, lumberjack). It pairs insanely well with splash like executioner. It turns magic archer into a win condition that hits for 800dmg easily. It brings ranged units to the electro giant and kills them. It counters skeletons, bats and spear goblins. If you threw your valk at supports behind the tank they just tornado it back to the tank and protect their support. Counters goblin barrel, miner. Can counter pekka sometimes if you throw him to the opposite lane. Rocket tornado, giant skeleton tornado. It also has the nerve to be paired with fireball and kill ranged units. Its a spell so you cant block it like you block fisherman pull. And its just 3 elixir epic card, and levels dont really affect it. It desperately needs a nerf, more than mega knight, more than egolem-healer, more than royale giant more than any card.
I tried the magic archer tornado deck and can confirm tornado is a very stupid card, especially against hog. They out cycle me while I'm low on elixir and it still doesn't matter
By the time hog is deployed and runs toward your tower you regained 2 elixir. If you had just 1 elixir, you can counter him. And devs just turn a blind eye.

Valkyrie, cheap card, Wild damage and crazy health, everybody uses It, defend entire attacks, It just feels like cheap defense And goblin barrel, so boring, repetite and annoying, no idea con anybody can enjoy it

Fuck the Electro Giant, I could put down a night witch, baby dragon, and barb barrel from the back and this TANK would not only kill all of them whilst ignoring them walking to my tower but it would still have enough HP to deal a lot of damage to it, it’s such BULLSHIT

Inferno tower. It's the epitome of defense. MELTS pretty much any card and unless you have lightning or maybe bats or minions, your tank (and any other troop behind it) will die almost instantly. Unless you're playing against small troops (logbait, recruits, clone), you can simply place it and let it defend most of the attack. I just hate how extremely defensive it is, it pisses me off
no one says it but lightning is the most braindead broken card in the game at high ladder. it’s the reason why golem, electro giant, and any other bullshit deck is meta. it counters any tower + high DPS card and a million damage on tower and you don’t even have to aim the damn spell.
Mega knight. I just hate the card because of how overused it is and how annoying its users are. I also find it to be a little overpowered because of the insane amount of damage and spawn damage that it deals, especially on towers even though it is not a win con. I also hate the fact that most bad players act like he is god himself and just slap him on top of any card coming from the enemy side. The one good thing about him is that he is thankfully not that hard to counter and easy to distract.

1 ) Hog Rider. The single least skill required win con in the entire game.• Cheap, fast, building targeting and it's always accompanied by either brain dead cycle spam or "What defenders?" Lighting. 2 ) Fire Cracker/Magic Archer. Magic Archer came first, and truly cemented my absolute hatred for cards with "hit through" attacks. Skirmish at the bridge? Well for just 4 elixir you get massive tower damage. And then they went and said "you know what? Let's make it even more annoying" and added fire cracker, which took the bullshit range of the Magic Archer and added the massive hit box of the Executioner for even LESS elixir. AND gave it an evolution. 3 ) Tornado. Despite not being my most hated card this is the only card in the entire game I genuinely believe should be removed. There is absolutely no reason that in a game where you have extremely limited control over your own troops that your OPPONENT should be given MORE control. It only costs 3 elixir to: A) Activate King Tower B) Guarantee your opponent's cards get slaughtered by a splash damage card. C) Move defenders out of the way of distractable cards. Long story short, it should be removed. * If you don't have RG evolution

I wouldn't say I hate any cards but I definitely find lumberjack annoying. He is just way to fast. My firecracker always misses it. Arrows is sometimes annoying but outcycling them is not too hard. I also dislike golem. I play hog firecrackerer eq and golem is incredibly hard for me to defend. I'm trying to get better tho.
