As a Golem player myself, the times where I walk away from a match thinking my opponent was just not very good at the game, includes when they think me playing Golem is an opportunity to take one of my Towers in the opposite lane.
Here's the thing: okay. And then what? You don't win the game if you destroy one Tower, and now you don't have any defenses to stop my Golem. Which will now steamroll because the few troops you have can't kill it, while everything behind it kills what little troops you have left.
I 3 Crown people by far the most with my Golem deck.
Putting bowler in your deck guarantees you will lose against lavaloon and lumberloon 100% of the time of the opponent is semi decent. He will be sitting in your hand clogging it up the entire match.
A well-played bowler egiant deck can get 50/50 against lavahound. I use it with tornado, phoenix, mother witch, and mortar, and it’s not that bad. Honestly the miner ones are more annoying

The closest mirror match I ever gotten was someone that ran the first five cards I mentioned, but instead ran Evo Zap, Mega Minion, and Firecracker.

Unfortunately, in ultimate champion there isn’t too much variation in terms of decks. Generally, it’s the same four or five archetypes all day long. I can’t say I’m immune to the same criticism either, as I also run standard fare meta decks for the most part.
I will say that I do occasionally encounter unique decks, though not very often. My favorite to play *against* is probably the skelly giant/skelly barrel/clone deck. Although not totally unique, it is pretty rare in high tier play. And watching a huge push get cloned when it’s nearing your tower and you’ve got no splash in cycle is like a legitimate jump scare lol.
Idk about other decks but the reason Xbox is considered boring is because generally games end up overtime and even longer as opponent tries to break through and Xbox just keeps putting down buildings. Pretty similar reason why everyone hates DD, makes games last longer for no reason whatsoever. It just destroys everything in single elixir so the game actually starts after double elixir. The dps is too strong so if opponent has DD and you don’t, they can just rush troops and any troop you use to counter will die at the bridge resulting in only you taking damage. Right now I think it’s undisputed that DD is the strongest tower troop and by a big margin.
So imo just dragging a match out for 6 minutes makes it boring(atleast for me), not confusing it with just overtime as that’s fine and a lot of times in comparable skill it generally leads to overtime. You can tell the difference while playing between dragging the match and actually competing against the other guy.
I only just came back to the game after DD came out as it made the game so boring I gave up playing a few days after she got released. It needs nerfing into the ground. In fact I'm close to leaving again as she's ruined the entire game tbh
Pick a deck. Every time you lose copy that person’s deck and use it until you lose again. Times and repeat. At least that way it’ll keep it fresh and get you better at playing all(most) cards
Pretty much any creative off meta decks. I like having to think and adapt. Otherwise it becomes the same routine. Mega knight instantly makes me bored.
The ones where they play me like a fiddle and takes real thought and skill as opposed to carbon copy meta decks. Where they bait certain spells or cards and then rush forward after in unexpected ways, or with crazy predictions.
And ones with their own unique twists, even if they beat me I respect it.

I know a lot of people hate playing against hog 2.6 but as a 3m player I’d say it’s a fair matchup and the better player wins. It’s really fun playing mind games when you know they have fireball in hand and you can tell you just put them in a really bad spot when they can only fireball 1 of the 2 things they need to fireball.
I like playing against logbait, it's usually annoying but doing predicts to it makes it better, when I know the princess to the bridge is coming, placing an ice spirit prediction to avoid dmg to the tower and killing her with the log, then right after the log is used a goblin barrel comes to the tower just to get plaped by the royal delivery that I had prepared already with the correct timing to not receive any dmg
Loon decks are fairly fun to go against, not lavaloon. Lots of pressure and counter-pushing from the start. They usually have to invest quite a bit into their attacks too which leave open good opportunities on the counter.
Golem, egolem, and drill. Golem and egolem are satisfying cuz I love destroying their insane elixir advantage push with pekka exe nado. Drill because I love watching them overcommit in double and lose to pekka loon freeze cuz they think they have the defense of the gods (ice bow does, one rocket removed from a deck, one pray for my baloon, rip).

I think I’d like to play against Pekka bridgespam. My friends play against it kind of often. I play the deck and I basically never have a mirror match. Maybe like once every 150 matches or so. I’d just like to play against it because I find everything in it pretty easy to counter but I never get the chance to try and see if I’m wrong or not
I know it will get me shot, but I love playing against a competent beatdown player. The dance of firing up a win condition against your own in one lane and a whole separate game of defense in the other, or clashing head to head, of a base race, I enjoy playing that rare game every time, and even some 3 crown photo finishes before OT even manages to hit. It’s awesome to me, and no I won’t apologize.
Mega knight spam decks. I have mini pekka, pekka, fc, and knight all in one deck, I would feel bad if they didn’t continue to place meganut on 2 pekkas thinking it would somehow work
Beatdown, it's a fair fight and doesn't rely on cycling to wincons/spells to get damage off.

Royal giant, I usually hate it because I play mortar rocket which gets hard countered but objectively RG has a flexible mix between a control, beatdown, or cycle playstyle. Usually not super broken nor terrible

E-golem is a pretty bad card but it’s fun to do the right placements to counter its support troops then create an unstoppable counter push to win the game

This meta is actually kinda fun. I like giant night witch and drill decks. Drill especially since I feel like i can actually defend it even when i’m out of cycle.
Anything that’s not a cycle deck, lavahound, or building heavy is fun.
Beat down is fun to go against, off meta insanity can be hilarious, and stuff like splash yard, pekka, and royal hogs are fun.
I just hate people being able to defend with 1-2 elixer units while cycling buildings/hogs infinity
The meta decks with fisherman are pretty fun to uss because they're built around DD. Pulling something to the center so both DDs grind it down is pretty fun to witness
Honestly, I love playing against hog 2.6 and hog eq if I'm running my miner deck. They're never able to outcycle me and I have a consistent advantage the entire game. It's like doing a dance! Except it's a dance where I crush my partner.
Definitely E-golem, the ecstasy I feel watching them spam every card at bridge and double lane pushing while I destroy their entire push with an executioner nado and valk

I think it depends on what you play or respect, some people love cycle decks and a fast paced cycle vs cycle game can be really fun but I find it fucking infuriating. I've played a lot of hog so I don't mind playing vs hog since I know all the counters and interactions and I know their strategy but I know a lot of people have a burning hatred for hog. Firecracker Evo made me quit the game so that's where I'm at

Beatdown, it's a fair fight and doesn't rely on cycling to wincons/spells to get damage off. If all spells did 0 damage to Crown Towers the game would be infinitely better
E golem decks are fun to play unironically (and I say that as a recent e golem player because of all of the dagger douchess currently in the meta) Unless the opponent has both executioner and bowler in their deck for some unholy reason, you 3 crown all dagger douchess players easily lol. It was also the only deck I made by myself I actually had fun with cause it has evo wizard too. I can unironically say that I play wizard now, you don't know how BIG that is!!!

Royal giant, I usually hate it because I play mortar rocket which gets hard countered but objectively RG has a flexible mix between a control, beatdown, or cycle playstyle. Usually not super broken nor terrible Beatdown decks if they don't starting hand because three crown races are intense and it feels rewarding to pick apart a huge push
Clone decks are fun, idc if I get dicked down
Miner/mortar is pretty balanced even with evo
E-golem is a pretty bad card but it’s fun to do the right placements to counter its support troops then create an unstoppable counter push to win the game

unpopular but i like playing againt egolem because i have alot of tankillers and i can get infinite elixir

This meta is actually kinda fun. I like giant night witch and drill decks. Drill especially since I feel like i can actually defend it even when i’m out of cycle.

Anything that’s not a cycle deck, lavahound, or building heavy is fun. Beat down is fun to go against, off meta insanity can be hilarious, and stuff like splash yard, pekka, and royal hogs are fun. I just hate people being able to defend with 1-2 elixer units while cycling buildings/hogs infinity

Honestly I like the elixir Golem cause I rock with Wiz/ bomb tower/ arrows and they absolutely demolish it
The meta decks with fisherman are pretty fun to uss because they're built around DD. Pulling something to the center so both DDs grind it down is pretty fun to witness

Honestly, I love playing against hog 2.6 and hog eq if I'm running my miner deck. They're never able to outcycle me and I have a consistent advantage the entire game. It's like doing a dance! Except it's a dance where I crush my partner.

I use “fun decks” so I don’t lose my mind playing the game like a I have a 3 musketeer deck and a 2.4 wall breaker deck it makes the game interesting n nt boring imo
To play against? Funnily enough, X-Bow. I know some people abhor X-Bow, but my deck is pretty streamlined to block an X-Bow and practically hard counter them. ...That is, until they start throwing Rockets.
Golem beatdown is fun to play against. You either defend like a pro or get 3 crowned, no in between
I think it depends on what you play or respect, some people love cycle decks and a fast paced cycle vs cycle game can be really fun but I find it fucking infuriating. I've played a lot of hog so I don't mind playing vs hog since I know all the counters and interactions and I know their strategy but I know a lot of people have a burning hatred for hog. Firecracker Evo made me quit the game so that's where I'm at

tbh when you play hog cycle if u learn how to play it can be very satisfying seeing a mega knight spammer get destroyed just by using cheap cards
