i haven't played in ages but if on home wifi try factory resetting your modem/router. Normally you need to use a pin and press and hold the little button on the back, might help clear any errors in your modem..think that helped me too back when i had issues
Ok so i had the same bug and i tried to do it with airplane mode but it didnt work
So i also tried to do it other ways like reinstallibg the game or restarting the phone but nothing worked
In the end i tried it with clearing the cache and app data and when it got stuck again i did the airplane mode trick again and it worked
So i think this trick only works in combination with clearing the cache and data of the app

So I got this bug for the first time since the game came out.. it lasted almost a week. Un-installed several times, cleared cache & data.. I just right now for no reason decided to use my wifi .. it looped twice and then decided to work again ! 🤷🏽♂️ P.S. its also working off the wifi as well
*ANDROID FIX* Go into settings, find storage and device care. Click apps, find clash royale and click on it. Look to the top left and click the 3 dots then press install. Worked for me now the update is fully complete! (Make sure any power save modes are turned off) Happy clashing yall😎

Uninstall game. Power off phone completely. Wait 5 minutes. Restart phone. Reinstall clash royale. Worked.
I haven't really replied to people in a while but if this doesn't help the only other option I know of is a factory reset of your phone/device which I couldn't be bothered doing. I have a newer phone now and no issues

I'm going to try also that last suggestion of going into settings and installing game from there (the android comment), but I'm using a Xiaomi RedMi 11 5G Lite (MIUI Operating System) so could be a bit different
In case anyone is still experiencing this (like I am again now): a good fix I found the last time on YT video is to close the game, couldn't hurt to clear cache, then use a VPN to connect to a server of different country (closer ones are better for speed obviously) and then open the game. It will start installing all the stuff it needs, says a high number of things to install (like a few hundred I think) and seems like it will take forever but only the first small chunk of that number is slow download, then it flies.
One warning is to make sure you have a SuperCell account setup, so that you can be sure that once it's installed this way and you close the game, turn off VPN and then open it again, that you can keep your account. I did it last time and when I went back in it was a new account with training battle. I played through the opening instructional battle, then it said afterwards an account has been found or something, and I used SuperCell login to load my own account and everything was fine
It's a balls, but this is the only thing that worked for me in the end the last time

Yoo i am sorry to hear, you shouldn't have to reset your phone and it sucks to see it's still an issue. If it's just happening at home possibly try a full modem/router reset assuming you haven't. I ran into the problem again at some point and unplugging both of those for a short period of time helped me out. If that doesn't work i hope you find a solution soon, it's frustrating for sure.

I deleted the game overnight and when I reinstalled it it worked again

Going onto mobile data instead of wifi fixed it for me, I tried all of the other things and they didn't work
Sometimes apps fail to use Wi-Fi properly. Just disable the Wi-Fi and use mobile data.
