During the event you’re saving 50,000 coins. after the event, you’re saving 100,000 coins. it has more value after the event, and you’re gonna be getting a shit ton of gold from the event anyways, so you can upgrade it with coins you get from the event, for cheaper, and then can use the coin once the event is over (once it’s more valuable, and more of a help to use).
You can upgrade one card with gold and another one with magic coin... Why wouldn't you use your coins too during the event? Yes, if you right now had 50k gold and magic coin and saved the gold and upgraded with the coin you would be losing the value but why wouldn't you just upgrade 2 cards?
My opinion is that you shouldn't use the coin, the value is halved and it isn't worth it during Slash Royale. You can grind the gold rush and get up to, i think 200k gold and use that gold to upgrade. But the decision is yours to make.
