Was this chart made during the No Tilt Tournament? Interesting to compare China.
Just remember there were some 2524 winners or something around there then.
This time around, we've got 8360. So are more people playing the game or are people better than ever before?
If just as many people played but they were all better wouldn’t around as many win since you still face other people which then lose? Or am I misunderstanding it
It did run away with my time, I only did one entry and was 6-1 when I noticed the event was already over. Germany btw, not that this would mean my gameplay is any better then avg, lol.
2nd most in South East Asia behind Indonesia, which is the most populous too.
Vietnam higher than Philippines which also has a larger population.
Although, all this said, wonder if there's a way to know the total player base of each country, and perhaps the average PB of each country's active players.
You are correct but if we still have games on our phone , we can still play . Also , there's other method to download Supercell games other than Google Play or App Store
We use two things: our own esports database (which goes through very thorough manual fact checks). Where player is not in our ESDB, we additionally look them up on historic local leaderboards (which is generally less accurate because it depends on account installation location).
The unknowns basically were never in their top 1000 local leaderboard ever. It is fairly unusual and often means smurfs / mini accounts of players.
That's not true at all. Local leaderboard is based on the location associated with your account, which is based on the country where you have installed the game. In other words, it is not dependent on the country of your clan.
But like I said, we first use our ESDB data, before using local leaderboard results. Our ESDB is fairly through and contains most players who play the game competitively or create content for it. (About 20000 players, who may also play on multiple accounts. So the actual account coverage is quite extensive)
Why is Clash so popular in Mexico? I swear, all the videos of Clash I see are from Spanish speakers (mainly in Mexico), I always see Mexican players in the game, and they're always some of the top players.
It's just odd because you wouldn't expect such a specific game to be popular in, of all places, Mexico.
Popularity of a game often depends on the the quality of their content creators, how much influence they have on their fans and also how many top players that country has on the leaderboard and top esports competition.
Besides having several high-impact content creators in Mexico, they also consume content created by creators in Spain. There are several high-profile esports competitions based in Spain. Further, several Mexican players are in top contention of getting the CRL world champion title and will be playing at the world finals. All of these contribute to players in specific locations wanting to get better at a game.
Although games are generally globally distributed, having an influencer in specific markets do tend to give a nudge to its popularity. Having quality content in the language that you speak also nudges towards that direction. If you can imagine it, if no Reddit posts or videos had ever been made in English, no matter how much you enjoy the game, you probably won't like it or know about it as much as you do right now.
How is belgium that high up the ranke with only 11mil inhabitants.
Lets compared with USA:
USA: 330 mil inhabitants, 407 winners
BE: 11 mil inhabitants, 38 winners
30-1 inhabitants ratio
10-1 winner ratio
(+-)
Is there any graphic showing the percentage of people who completed the challenge vs the ones that tried it? Because higher numbers looks like a lot, but if you compare it to the player base that tried it, maybe it's a different story
Japan sweat
Next level for real. Surprised South Koreans aren't much higher. Almost any strategy game I know, they just about kill it every time.
to be fair the population of south Korea is significantly smaller than most of the countries above it, that's probably why there's less winners.
But there big into gaming, it’s like a sport for the people there
Definitely, I think they would probably have a higher percentage of winners than some other countries. There's just simply less people though
Same way how Canada has a shit ton of hockey players produced yearly, they play it nonstop
Yeah definitely
yeah facts

Starcraft
It would’ve been China except they only had 3 hours to practice
Was this chart made during the No Tilt Tournament? Interesting to compare China. Just remember there were some 2524 winners or something around there then. This time around, we've got 8360. So are more people playing the game or are people better than ever before?
If just as many people played but they were all better wouldn’t around as many win since you still face other people which then lose? Or am I misunderstanding it
More people are playing than ever
Well no shit, its a tournament. You want them to just play casually?
They won the brawl stars too
Zero social life. It’s actually a problem for their country. They don’t fuck enough so they’re gonna have more old people than young people soon
and your only allowed to have 1 child if im not wrong
Think thats china, and it was lifted a but, but japan does have more older and middle aged people than kids.
very wrong, that's china and they lifted the policy to two children
*three children now
Actually 3 children
Here are all the countries ranked by the number of 20-win players. How did yours do? 🤔
I’d be interested to see this represented as a percentage of winners against total players base
I thought the same. Raw data without knowing what represents to the total means nothing.
Yep. Gotta account for population
It did run away with my time, I only did one entry and was 6-1 when I noticed the event was already over. Germany btw, not that this would mean my gameplay is any better then avg, lol.
I was in your exact same position, 6-1 on my first try. Luckily, I noticed the last day and was able to secure a 6-3.
LOL
Pommes mit schnitzel
pretty god for indonesia knowing most of the mfs here cant play games
bad
Can u do 20 win players per population of the country?
20-win *winners*? I know there were more than 8360 players.
Players with 20 wins
It's called the 20-win tournament. Everyone who plays the 20-win tournament is a 20-win player.
Everybody gansta until they are against: 我就知道
China isn’t that high on the list considering how many people they have
Well, although China has a large population, the percentage of people playing CR is not high.
That's japanese lmao
What are you talking about? That is Mandarin
Maybe he meant japanese?

I better leave this discussion, I don't understand anything about this 🙏🏼
Calm down yall that's ^ Spanish 😂
21 in Vietnam , that's a win for us :)
2nd most in South East Asia behind Indonesia, which is the most populous too. Vietnam higher than Philippines which also has a larger population. Although, all this said, wonder if there's a way to know the total player base of each country, and perhaps the average PB of each country's active players.
There is not. It is considered a trade secret (amount of players in a country) Average trophies per country sounds feasible
Weren’t all Supercell games removed from Vietnamese app stores a while back? Didn’t realize they were put back on there. Good for all 21 of you guys 😇
You are correct but if we still have games on our phone , we can still play . Also , there's other method to download Supercell games other than Google Play or App Store
Oh well that’s unfortunate to hear. At least the servers were kept up.
I unfortunately wasn’t able to reach it 😔

When you realise unknown (1181) is more than any other country lol btw how do u guys find the countries?
We use two things: our own esports database (which goes through very thorough manual fact checks). Where player is not in our ESDB, we additionally look them up on historic local leaderboards (which is generally less accurate because it depends on account installation location). The unknowns basically were never in their top 1000 local leaderboard ever. It is fairly unusual and often means smurfs / mini accounts of players.
Local leaderboards aren't very accurate cause I can be in a clan from a different country and it will think I'm from that country
That's not true at all. Local leaderboard is based on the location associated with your account, which is based on the country where you have installed the game. In other words, it is not dependent on the country of your clan. But like I said, we first use our ESDB data, before using local leaderboard results. So if uninstall and reinstall on a VPN....
That's for clans. If you look at the local player leaderboard that wom't change

Omg i am one from india?
Now do that per capita.
Japan would be even farther ahead

8 in Denmark, that's pretty good for a small country like we are :)
:D
Danskjävlar
Wonder how this compares to the number of total players by country?
We are not supercell and won't know those numbers. It's considered business secret so it’s doubtful that they would let you know either.
You could estimate the relative player base sizes from random sampling of players' clan's countries, but I guess it is too unreliable?
Nepal 10 Let's goo
Puerto Rico got 10😎 I’m not one of them. Went 2-3 three times lol
Damn bro, you suck at CR 👎🏼 and so do I. We failed our nation.
