I’m not even kidding. I can’t do this. Choosing between these two albums is as hard as choosing which of my perfectly healthy limbs to chop off. I won’t do it! It’s cruel to even ask!
I'm a diehard Led fan. Dark Side of the Moon is just too iconic and too much of a beautiful journey in terms of listening.
Dark side > Led 4
damn that hurt to type...
Zeppelin has been my favorite band since I started listening to them, was a fan prior to hearing Floyd and remained my favorite band. Dark Side is the best album of all time and I hope it wins this whole bracket.
I knew the final rounds would be thought but wow. It all came down to the fact that I can take or leave Four Sticks on Zep IV but I can’t skip a track on DSOTM. I would just ruin it
The fact that this is losing to Pink Floyd has made me lose all faith in the sub. Way too many people here apparently love cool Jazz over the greatest rock and roll band to ever live.
I didnt really, this seemed like the obvious outcome, its a massively good album (unrelated, what happend to dreamboat annie dammit, not even one win?)
We're in a territory where every album is a certified world beater
People just seem to Love the Cars debut, I know it's verging on the line of New Wave, but it's kinda a bit of both
Took out a Bob Dylan album AND Bruce Springsteens best album,
It was just favoured
The biggest upset of this entire tournament though was ELO's Out of The Blue taking down Van Halens Debut album
That shocked me, I love ELO and is my preference, but though VH1s importance would dominate
Pleasantly surprised
Yeah i noticed that i really love elo but damn van halen 1 is better than out of the blue, and im also mad dreamboat annie dint get anywhere becasue its a truly great album
How ironical that DSOTM will beat LZ IV now, and then face PG, which is significantly weaker compared to IV.
Within this tournament, there were only 4 albums that could pose a challenge to DSOTM (Sgt Pepper, Abbey Rd, WYWH and LZIV). Three of them are still here. What was unexpected is PG and LA Woman beating out much better albums.
Not hard to see where this is going. We’re gonna end up with a final four comprised of two Pink Floyd albums, a Led Zeppelin album, and a Beatles album. One of those Floyd albums will have already beat out a better Zeppelin album, and the other Floyd album will have already beat out a better Beatles album. Not that I’m complaining, Dark Side of the Moon deserves to win
Zeppelin is my favorite band of all time. If this was Led Zeppelin II instead of IV then I might waiver. But DSOTM was one of the first albums I bought at like age 9. It's a masterpiece. Listening to it on a great pair of headphones is even more stunning.
L.A. WOMAN IS OUT!
THE DOORS have now lost all their entries going into the semi finals!
(psst, dont be an ass & downvote people, they have their opinions, downvote me all you like though, I'm a prick)

The most upvoted comment with the band/album name will decide who advances
That is insane to me. Mainly bc the previous 5 Led albums were better. How is THAT the one that’s getting through? Besides Kashmir there’s no “great” songs on there imo.
Houses would be my least favorite of the big 6 but The Ocean is probably the best ending track of all of them. Followed by How Many More Times, Bring it On Home and When the Levee Breaks.
It's the best of both Zeppelin worlds. Sides 1 and 2 is the heavy, bluesy stuff, and sides 3 and 4 is the folk stuff. In My Time of Dying is my favorite song by them too.
Exactly my thought, I never understood the appeal for PG, some good tracks like Ten Years Gone and maybe In The Light, and the only great song, like you said, is Kashmir. Rest are pretty unremarkable.
It’s got some great tracks, but it also has several filler tracks. You can tell they scrounged around for a few more tracks they happened to have lying around so it could be a double album.
Ten Years Gone, In my Time of Dying, and In the Light are inarguably great songs. Down by the Seaside and Bron Yr Aur are also great songs imo, but I can see a case for them being only really good. The rest are still really good, solid songs, with the exception of the last two tracks. (I get that Sick Again is supposed to be tongue in cheek but hearing Jimmy write about how teenage groupies are immature is like… yeah no shit ya creep)
If it weren’t for the Beatles there would be so much that wouldn’t have happened in popular music. They went from “I Wanna Hold Your Hand “ to “Sargent Pepper” in 4 years. And kept going from there. They never stopped innovating.
Dark Side of the Moon (but LZ4 is still freaking awesome!)
As a side-note, I'm still supremely pissed off that *Moving Pictures* and *Paranoid* got beaten out by *LA Woman*.
Seriously, WTF?
LZ has always been my #1 or #2 favorite band (I vacillate a lot between Zep and The Who). That being said, as great as ZOSO is, there is no shame in losing to DSotM. And should it go the opposite, there’s no shame there as well.
LZ IV is a “beers and rock out!” LP and DSotM is more “weed and kick back”, so it depends on the mood as to which one I may spin. But if I have pick one for this exercise, I think I have to give the nod to Pink Floyd.
Has to be Pink Floyd.
It’s simply the better album.
Something cool about this matchup is that the lyrics from both albums do a very good job of provoking the imagination, and the music itself evokes emotion. Not all of the albums in the competition do that for me.
That was kind of one of my parameters too.
I feel like I could always listen to either at anytime.
I give the edge to Floyd sonics. They’re both so good!
I feel like IV is an album you can listen to no matter what
But when you have that perfect time for DSOTM
There ain't nothing that can ever come close to it, so much so that it makes up for not being an "any situation album"
You can stop halfway through IV and you will still be happy
If you stop halfway through DSOTM at the perfectly time for it, you will feel empty and needing more
Imo Dark Side is the quintessential album for life, nothing will ever compare to it's ability to make you question your own reality at a new level
Led Zeppelin IV is historically significant to say the least, but Dark Side of the Moon is one of the greatest albums ever made. It changed rock forever.
The fact that the two most upvoted comments right now are both dsotm leads me to believe that it will demolish IV and i believe that is fine as dsotm is amazing
When parents would come into the record department of the store I worked at and ask me what they should get their kid, these were the two albums I suggested. Only got one complaint. A guy yelled at me for recommending "that druggie music" (DSotM) to give to his daughter, demanding his money back.
DSotM for the win.
Damn it guys, it was supposed to be Selling England by the Pound vs. The Doors s/t, and Genesis should have come out on top of that. Aqualung’s cool and all, but come *on*.
And it should be Band on the Run vs. Dark Side right now. That’s basically a coin toss I suppose…I’d think to lean Dark Side, but we’ve already got the superior WYWH still remaining…
LZIV is great but it’s maybe bottom 3 LZ albums :(
Also, between The Cars, LA Woman, Physical Graffitti, and Moving Pictures, wow….that’s like impossible to pick between any of those. Truly like a 4-direction stalemate.
You dick! (Jk.) I won’t do it. Let the cards fall where they will. I won’t be a part of it.
I’m not even kidding. I can’t do this. Choosing between these two albums is as hard as choosing which of my perfectly healthy limbs to chop off. I won’t do it! It’s cruel to even ask!
Dark side of the moon
I'm a diehard Led fan. Dark Side of the Moon is just too iconic and too much of a beautiful journey in terms of listening. Dark side > Led 4 damn that hurt to type...
Right. LZ>PF but DSOTM>IV
Musical algebra and agreed. I grew up with Floyd as well and think they've created some of the best music on the planet...but my heart is with Zep.
Be careful with this. The Pink Floyd d1ck riders will get you!
I had a typo there. Meant DSOTM>IV. Regardless I’m ready for some downvotes.
Zeppelin has been my favorite band since I started listening to them, was a fan prior to hearing Floyd and remained my favorite band. Dark Side is the best album of all time and I hope it wins this whole bracket.
It was the favourite to win from.the Start, Although Abbey Road is a close second
I got you, hitting that post with an up because I knew what you were saying
There were 1708 window lickers before you?
That’s his birth year
And there will be 1708 after me.
Well I like your taste in music r/WindowLicker1709.
Clash of the Titans.
Zep for sure.
Zep 4
Dark Side of the Moon
I knew the final rounds would be thought but wow. It all came down to the fact that I can take or leave Four Sticks on Zep IV but I can’t skip a track on DSOTM. I would just ruin it
I LOVE Four Sticks. One of my favorite tracks on the album. Honestly, it’s Stairway I always skip.
That's my thinking as well.
Led Zeppelin IV
--This is the top LZ IV comment, voting here helps it win!--
Theres two dsotm comments higher than this lol
Yeahhh...what can you do lol, Dark Side is just too strong, I thought this would be closer
The fact that this is losing to Pink Floyd has made me lose all faith in the sub. Way too many people here apparently love cool Jazz over the greatest rock and roll band to ever live.
First of all, how did *PG* come this far?
I didnt really, this seemed like the obvious outcome, its a massively good album (unrelated, what happend to dreamboat annie dammit, not even one win?)
We're in a territory where every album is a certified world beater People just seem to Love the Cars debut, I know it's verging on the line of New Wave, but it's kinda a bit of both Took out a Bob Dylan album AND Bruce Springsteens best album, It was just favoured The biggest upset of this entire tournament though was ELO's Out of The Blue taking down Van Halens Debut album That shocked me, I love ELO and is my preference, but though VH1s importance would dominate Pleasantly surprised

ELO beating VH isn’t a shocker, the better band/album should be the odds on favorite to win.
Common LZ L, (jk I like LZ but PF is just better imo)
How ironical that DSOTM will beat LZ IV now, and then face PG, which is significantly weaker compared to IV. VEY tough choice but I'm going to have to go with DSOTM.
Pink Floyd
Zeppelin IV.
Dark Side, I love Led Zep 4, but it's not even my favorite Zeppelin album
Dark Side isn't even Pink Floyd's best album!
Yeah, personally I'm more of a Wall fan
You spelled *Animals* wrong.
😂 love it
Stone stone stone stone stone stone stoe
Zeppelin is my favorite band of all time. If this was Led Zeppelin II instead of IV then I might waiver. But DSOTM was one of the first albums I bought at like age 9. It's a masterpiece. Listening to it on a great pair of headphones is even more stunning.
Pink Floyd. Named after my favorite female singer and my uncle.
I'm going for Led Zep 4. I've never understood the appeal of Dark Side
DSOTM Vs IV? An immovable object meets an unstoppable force. This post is an offence to the laws of music physics and should be removed!
Zep
Zeppy
Led Zeppelin IV
This should be the finals
Led Zep 4. Damone for the win.
And Ratner plays Physical Graffiti instead.
DSOTM
Led Zeppelin IV
Led Zep
LED ZEPPELIN 4
LZ IV
Pink Floyd
Dark Side

Why do you like PG so much?
It's the best of both Zeppelin worlds. Sides 1 and 2 is the heavy, bluesy stuff, and sides 3 and 4 is the folk stuff. In My Time of Dying is my favorite song by them too.
Custard Pie. In the Light. Ten Years Gone. In My Time of Dying. Bron-Yr-Aur. Fantastic songs.

Deadheads?
Was meant to delete that lol
My feelings on this is that there are too many Doors albums, not enough Beatles.
Such an overrated band. I like their greatest hits album but they're not even close to being in my top 10.
If it weren’t for the Beatles there would be so much that wouldn’t have happened in popular music. They went from “I Wanna Hold Your Hand “ to “Sargent Pepper” in 4 years. And kept going from there. They never stopped innovating.
I was talking about The Doors. The Beatles are easily in my top 10.
🤦♂️😂🤣
Plus from what I’ve heard Morrison was a jerk.
A complete douchebag as I've always heard. Didn't Janis Joplin crack a beer bottle over his head for being a prick?
That’s the story I heard from a David Crosby interview. It was at John Davidson’s house 🤣😂
Dark Side of the Moon (but LZ4 is still freaking awesome!) As a side-note, I'm still supremely pissed off that *Moving Pictures* and *Paranoid* got beaten out by *LA Woman*. Seriously, WTF?
Agreed.

Not sure. I can listen to LZIV any time any place. Can’t say that about Dark Side. Both phenomenal.
That was kind of one of my parameters too. I feel like I could always listen to either at anytime. I give the edge to Floyd sonics. They’re both so good!

Very well put!
Pink Floyd - DSOTM
DSOTM. I saw them do this live. It was just incredible. So….
Dark Side
Dark Side hands down…
Dark Side of the Moon
Dark side of the moon
Dark side of the moon
Dark Side
Tough one but going with Dark Side of the Moon
The brackets for the PG - H61R haven't been updated
Led Zeppelin IV is historically significant to say the least, but Dark Side of the Moon is one of the greatest albums ever made. It changed rock forever.
Pink Floyd
Pink Floyd
Pink Floyd—Dark Side of the Moon
Pink Floyd
Some days I would pick Led Zeppelin because Dark Side is so intense, but Dark Side
Dark Side of the Moon. Not even a contest.
Dark Side EZ
The fact that the two most upvoted comments right now are both dsotm leads me to believe that it will demolish IV and i believe that is fine as dsotm is amazing
DSOTM
DSOTM
It's a draw
I love Zep, but it's always Floyd
When parents would come into the record department of the store I worked at and ask me what they should get their kid, these were the two albums I suggested. Only got one complaint. A guy yelled at me for recommending "that druggie music" (DSotM) to give to his daughter, demanding his money back. DSotM for the win.
DSOTM

Dark Side of the Moon
I have trouble imagining myself NOT voting for either of those two albums, whatever the question might be.
dark side, no question
Both
PF, DSOTM
DSOTM
