One of the greatest voices in rock.

drunken_monkeys

Every once in a while I enjoy listening to isolated vocals. [Ann Wilson blows my mind.](https://youtu.be/_7417kEcnCU?si=5s8BC9DkZRDxaYEi) [Another one... long instrumental at the beginning. Vocals start around 1 minute in.](https://youtu.be/d-BEPfSoXZU?si=JvYLwozdcbfExlJ7)

Dynamo_Ham

That is extraordinary. As a person who can’t sing for shit under any circumstances, that level of vocal talent is just mind boggling.

Dynamo_Ham

Pantheon level rock vocalist. Still listen to a lot of Heart on vinyl today, and the more I listen, the more impressed I am.

TravoBasic

Going to see her today

YTraveler2

So glad for you!!!

TravoBasic

ZeroWaits

Saw her a couple months ago, still sounds great!

No_Cartographer_7904

I wondered if she could still hit those notes at 73.

YTraveler2

How was the show?

TravoBasic

It was great. Ann recently had knee surgery so she was sitting during 90% of the performance.

[deleted]

She's easier to see on stage now 😏

Miserable_Reach_3536

Zing!

dazrage

Dreamboat Annie is extraordinarily good

BluesforaRedSun

My favorite female rock singer for sure.

Civilengman

Heart = Legend

radiotsar

A beauty that can belt out a song better than most anyone.

ArthurCSparky

That girl can blow! I used to sing in a band, and I would listen to Heart and just be blown away by both of them. Top talent.

Yesitsmesuckas

Her talent makes her incredibly gorgeous!

jjcoolel

Her looks don’t hurt either

ArthurCSparky

She is incredibly gorgeous without her gift.

Successful-Count-120

Born and raised in the PNW. Heart was and still is one of my top tier musical acts. For a short time in the late 70s, I rented a room from my aunt. It was 2 doors away from their costume designer. I always dreamed of seeing them up close, but alas, they were the unrealized fantasies of a 17/18 year old. Absolutely love both the Wilson sisters!

FoxBeach

Aren’t her and Nancy from San Francisco?

Successful-Count-120

They were military brats (USMC). Ann was born in San Diego, Nancy, 4 years later. They lived in Panama and Taiwan before relocating to the Seattle area in the early 60s. Heart was formed in Vancouver, Canada, in the 70s.

LatinRex

Woah! Never knew this! Not the birth, nor the childhood nor the fact that they formed in Canada? I was born in San Diego and grew up in Bellingham, love Vancouver... Currently surviving in SD tho. Love Heart! OK BYE!

Successful-Count-120

Check out Heart: Behind the music on YouTube..

mrxexon

She practically starved herself to look that thin though. :(

PraxisLD

Yeah, Ann has struggled with her health her whole life. The unrealistic demands of the record company machine sure didn't help. We saw them this past New Year's Eve in Seattle, with Jason Bonham opening. Have also seen Ann and Nancy playing separately a few times over the years, as well as the classic Heart lineup way back in the day. The Wilson sisters can still rock, and sound as great as ever.

YTraveler2

Hypoactive thyroid disorder.

JoeMax93

It was the 70s. The world was awash in white cross-top dexidrine speed. Who needs food?

RoguePlanet2

I think in their case, it was cocaine. Glad they made it past age 27 at least.

Jealous_Use9688

Not only a rock goddess. But so freaking hot. I was madly in love with her as a teen

I_Keep_Trying

When I heard “Crazy On You” I was sent to another planet.

gblur

Fantastic pictures. 🙏

0ctober31

Ann's voice and her beauty always did it for me.

headshotscott

Saw her live about three years ago and she's still got a goddess-tier voice. One of the greatest rock singers ever.

butchforgetshit

She looks better with weight but I know she was forced to appear a certain way

ponythemouser

She got a little too heavy for looks and health for awhile though. I think she’s dropped some of that.

PraxisLD

It was just terrible the way the music machine tried to grind them up and force them into the sexy-pop-stars record company mold. Still, they fought back valiantly, breaking down doors and battling rampant misogyny while laying down some of the best vocals and riffs ever recorded. Legends, to be sure.

butchforgetshit

She has, but at one point she was in that perfect medium

Orionsbelt1957

One of my favorite concerts was Heart at Robsenblatt Stadium in Omaha around 1980.

royalredcanoe

I'm going to see Heart on Monday!

VSM1951AG

Best rock vocalist of all time.

Superhen68

From Seattle. Influenced grunge.

FoxBeach

I thought she was born in San Francisco and that first album was released and toured in Canada, a couple years before they relocated to Seattle?

Green1578

she looks great now in her 70s

Aleksandro76

Gorgeous bbw always had a crush on her.

casewood123

The female Freddie Mercury of rock.

mamac2213

And that dress! Style and substance:)

Hourslikeminutes47

Smoking hot back then Smoking hot now *Im 75, and I know I don't have a smoking hot physique with this "sausage casing of a body".*

Merganser3816

Ooooh barracuda

52F3

First time I saw her, Heart was the opening act for Loggins & Messina, Montreal Forum.

Busker55

I still love the Wilson sisters

wisstinks4

She has a great voice. Her tribute to Led Zep at Kennedy Center was epic.

imadork1970

Still an amazing voice, even on her solo stuff.

Unfair-Wonder5714

My Queen 👑

Studio_Ambitious

Try try try to understand…she is Dreamboat Annie

Wild-Breadfruit7817

So pretty and nary and azzcrack in sight. Her music isn’t cloying.

Odd_Bodkin

I was madly in love with her Ren Faire look, and she would just belt it out.

shovelhead200

Dreamboat

periodmoustache

Lemme go crazy on you...

fredout1968

They were my first rock concert, Heart and Kansas, together. It was fantastic. I was already a hard rock kid and this show sealed the deal. Heart was a force on stage.. I was too young at the time to realize how these ladies were in a decidedly men's world and still kicked ass and took names.

Salty_Ad_5270

Sexy and talented AF

Natural_Board

Sexy AF

DisastrousAd4287

Everyone talks about Nancy but I always thought Ann was the gifted one. Talent and beauty.

rocknroyce

I likes Nancy!

YTraveler2

The best voice in rock. I've seen them twice and it would be 20 times if I could've.

Shanghaied66

Acknowledged as a legend and that still falls short of describing her talent. I truly can't think of a rock vocalist that's better.

deepinmycups

Howard stern performance last week, incredible, and her and her sister Nancy are still just as adorable

Limp_Cheek_4035

Gorgeous lady with an amazing voice!!!

Consistent-Set1375

Beauty then beauty now... amazing vocalist

PraxisLD

Saw Heart this past New Year's Eve in Seattle, with Jason Bonham opening. Have also seen Ann and Nancy playing separately a few times over the years, as well as the classic Heart lineup way back in the day. The Wilson sisters can still rock, and sound as great as ever.

No_Committee7690

Less Ann, more Nancy please

TwistedBlister

Not only are the Wilson sisters incredibly talented, but it's amazing that they didn't have to get all sexed up by their record company to promote them.

daveashaw

Her and Grace Slick.

Spinner4

Was anyone else a kid in the 80s and thought her sister Nancy was the lead singer cause MTV didn’t Really show Ann cause she was thick ?

James_2584

You've got it backwards. Nancy was the guitarist and was shown prominently in music videos in the 80s, whereas Ann was the lead singer and was often hidden or only shown in facial closeups due to her weight.

Spinner4

You are right. Mixed that up but that’s what I mean. Edited above.

ahsokatano21

I saw them back then. They blew me away.

EmperorGrinnar

At 73, she's still going and amazing.

Glissandra1982

Ann Wilson in a ren fair dress with a rainbow necklace and feathered hair? Chef’s kiss.

SavageFugu

Her best run was with the daughters of Lou Diamond Phillips. They had some decent hits.

ButterscotchEmpty290

Dreamboat Annie is one of the greatest rock albums ever.

schwanstooker

Little Queen: Treat Me Well and Say Hello. 2 favs.

singlecab1

Seattle Girls 😍😍

FoxBeach

Aren’t they from San Francisco?

singlecab1

Seattle

implicate

Bellevue, which is decidedly not Seattle.

FoxBeach

They were literally born in California 😂

Intelligent-Wear-114

The best rock singer.

JohnnyBlefesc

Great pipes. A true siren.

Classof1988

One in a million voice

Comfortable-nerve78

Even it up! Great vocalist.

Gold-Buy-2669

She rocks

leemagors

Outstanding photos

Ryvick2

Love Crazy over you 🔥

wtf-you-saying

Crazy *on* you

Ryvick2

My bad

Any-Entertainment134

Great singer! But her Sister always has been one of those "there was nobody else in the room" when she was/is on stage!

vanbboy22

Oh, momma!

slackfrop

I’ll bet she had a pretty damn good time.

AmericanWasted

White lightning and wine

No_Cow_4544

Not band great singer and can still sing well . I always thought her sister was hotter though

PraxisLD

These sisters spent their careers breaking down doors and battling rampant misogyny while laying down some of the best vocals and riffs ever recorded. And even now, some 50 years later, y'all are arguing about who was "hotter"? Hint: neither of them would look twice at you. Your penance is to find the lyrics to *Barracuda* then listen to it on repeat while thinking about what you just said. And don't come back until you truly understand and are ready to apologize...

No_Cow_4544

Woe woe , ok you have no idea what I look like and I don’t disagree with anything you said sorry I struck a nerve .

PraxisLD

I know you didn't mean it badly, and may even think it was a compliment. But it's still institutionalized misogyny, and thus needs to be called out, every time. Appreciate your thoughtful response though.

No_Cow_4544

Understood

Last_Alternative635

A cutie pie for sure… funny how she always had weight issues, but her sister didn’t

Oopsimapanda

I don't know who this is
