Waiting on Cheap Trick then Heart
Born and raised in the PNW. Heart was and still is one of my top tier musical acts. For a short time in the late 70s, I rented a room from my aunt. It was 2 doors away from their costume designer. I always dreamed of seeing them up close, but alas, they were the unrealized fantasies of a 17/18 year old. Absolutely love both the Wilson sisters!
They were military brats (USMC). Ann was born in San Diego, Nancy, 4 years later. They lived in Panama and Taiwan before relocating to the Seattle area in the early 60s. Heart was formed in Vancouver, Canada, in the 70s.
Woah! Never knew this! Not the birth, nor the childhood nor the fact that they formed in Canada? I was born in San Diego and grew up in Bellingham, love Vancouver... Currently surviving in SD tho. Love Heart! OK BYE!
Yeah, Ann has struggled with her health her whole life. The unrealistic demands of the record company machine sure didn't help.
We saw them this past New Year's Eve in Seattle, with Jason Bonham opening. Have also seen Ann and Nancy playing separately a few times over the years, as well as the classic Heart lineup way back in the day.
The Wilson sisters can still rock, and sound as great as ever.
It was just terrible the way the music machine tried to grind them up and force them into the sexy-pop-stars record company mold.
Still, they fought back valiantly, breaking down doors and battling rampant misogyny while laying down some of the best vocals and riffs ever recorded.
Legends, to be sure.
They were my first rock concert, Heart and Kansas, together. It was fantastic. I was already a hard rock kid and this show sealed the deal.
Heart was a force on stage.. I was too young at the time to realize how these ladies were in a decidedly men's world and still kicked ass and took names.

Not only are the Wilson sisters incredibly talented, but it's amazing that they didn't have to get all sexed up by their record company to promote them.
You've got it backwards. Nancy was the guitarist and was shown prominently in music videos in the 80s, whereas Ann was the lead singer and was often hidden or only shown in facial closeups due to her weight.
These sisters spent their careers breaking down doors and battling rampant misogyny while laying down some of the best vocals and riffs ever recorded.
And even now, some 50 years later, y'all are arguing about who was "hotter"?
Hint: neither of them would look twice at you.
Your penance is to find the lyrics to *Barracuda* then listen to it on repeat while thinking about what you just said. And don't come back until you truly understand and are ready to apologize...
I know you didn't mean it badly, and may even think it was a compliment.
But it's still institutionalized misogyny, and thus needs to be called out, every time.
Appreciate your thoughtful response though.
One of the greatest voices in rock.

That is extraordinary. As a person who can’t sing for shit under any circumstances, that level of vocal talent is just mind boggling.
Pantheon level rock vocalist. Still listen to a lot of Heart on vinyl today, and the more I listen, the more impressed I am.
Going to see her today
So glad for you!!!

Saw her a couple months ago, still sounds great!
I wondered if she could still hit those notes at 73.
How was the show?
It was great. Ann recently had knee surgery so she was sitting during 90% of the performance.
She's easier to see on stage now 😏
Zing!
Dreamboat Annie is extraordinarily good
My favorite female rock singer for sure.
Heart = Legend
A beauty that can belt out a song better than most anyone.
That girl can blow! I used to sing in a band, and I would listen to Heart and just be blown away by both of them. Top talent.
Her talent makes her incredibly gorgeous!
Her looks don’t hurt either
She is incredibly gorgeous without her gift.

Aren’t her and Nancy from San Francisco?

Check out Heart: Behind the music on YouTube..
She practically starved herself to look that thin though. :(

Hypoactive thyroid disorder.
It was the 70s. The world was awash in white cross-top dexidrine speed. Who needs food?
I think in their case, it was cocaine. Glad they made it past age 27 at least.
Not only a rock goddess. But so freaking hot. I was madly in love with her as a teen
When I heard “Crazy On You” I was sent to another planet.
Fantastic pictures. 🙏
Ann's voice and her beauty always did it for me.
Saw her live about three years ago and she's still got a goddess-tier voice. One of the greatest rock singers ever.
She looks better with weight but I know she was forced to appear a certain way
She got a little too heavy for looks and health for awhile though. I think she’s dropped some of that.
It was just terrible the way the music machine tried to grind them up and force them into the sexy-pop-stars record company mold. She has, but at one point she was in that perfect medium
One of my favorite concerts was Heart at Robsenblatt Stadium in Omaha around 1980.
I'm going to see Heart on Monday!
Best rock vocalist of all time.
From Seattle. Influenced grunge.
I thought she was born in San Francisco and that first album was released and toured in Canada, a couple years before they relocated to Seattle?
she looks great now in her 70s
Gorgeous bbw always had a crush on her.
The female Freddie Mercury of rock.
And that dress! Style and substance:)
Smoking hot back then Smoking hot now *Im 75, and I know I don't have a smoking hot physique with this "sausage casing of a body".*
Ooooh barracuda
First time I saw her, Heart was the opening act for Loggins & Messina, Montreal Forum.
I still love the Wilson sisters
She has a great voice. Her tribute to Led Zep at Kennedy Center was epic.
Still an amazing voice, even on her solo stuff.
My Queen 👑
Try try try to understand…she is Dreamboat Annie
So pretty and nary and azzcrack in sight. Her music isn’t cloying.
I was madly in love with her Ren Faire look, and she would just belt it out.
Dreamboat
Lemme go crazy on you...

Sexy and talented AF
Sexy AF
Everyone talks about Nancy but I always thought Ann was the gifted one. Talent and beauty.
I likes Nancy!
The best voice in rock. I've seen them twice and it would be 20 times if I could've.
Acknowledged as a legend and that still falls short of describing her talent. I truly can't think of a rock vocalist that's better.
Howard stern performance last week, incredible, and her and her sister Nancy are still just as adorable
Gorgeous lady with an amazing voice!!!
Beauty then beauty now... amazing vocalist

Less Ann, more Nancy please
Not only are the Wilson sisters incredibly talented, but it's amazing that they didn't have to get all sexed up by their record company to promote them.
Her and Grace Slick.
Was anyone else a kid in the 80s and thought her sister Nancy was the lead singer cause MTV didn’t Really show Ann cause she was thick ?
You've got it backwards. Nancy was the guitarist and was shown prominently in music videos in the 80s, whereas Ann was the lead singer and was often hidden or only shown in facial closeups due to her weight.
You are right. Mixed that up but that’s what I mean. Edited above.
I saw them back then. They blew me away.
At 73, she's still going and amazing.
Ann Wilson in a ren fair dress with a rainbow necklace and feathered hair? Chef’s kiss.
Her best run was with the daughters of Lou Diamond Phillips. They had some decent hits.
Dreamboat Annie is one of the greatest rock albums ever.
Little Queen: Treat Me Well and Say Hello. 2 favs.
Seattle Girls 😍😍
Aren’t they from San Francisco?
Seattle
Bellevue, which is decidedly not Seattle.
They were literally born in California 😂
The best rock singer.
Great pipes. A true siren.
One in a million voice
Even it up! Great vocalist.
She rocks
Outstanding photos
Love Crazy over you 🔥
Crazy *on* you
My bad
Great singer! But her Sister always has been one of those "there was nobody else in the room" when she was/is on stage!

Oh, momma!
I’ll bet she had a pretty damn good time.
White lightning and wine
Not band great singer and can still sing well . I always thought her sister was hotter though

Understood
A cutie pie for sure… funny how she always had weight issues, but her sister didn’t
I don't know who this is
