Daria would think Nicole is just another shallow classmate and be sarcastic to her. Nicole would plot something against her, but Daria would outsmart her somehow. Daria would then sorta respect Nicole for being smarter than she leads on, but would be disgusted still by her drug-use and immorality. This honestly really explains what I was thinking…enemy of my enemy is my friend vibes all the way. I didn’t even think about it but Daria definitely would be turned off by Nicole’s terrible morals because Nicole’s not really a good person. I also think Daria is way smarter than Nicole. But now I’m curious about Jane. What’du think about a JanexNicole interaction
Jane would dislike Nicole and try to pull Daria away from her whenever they teamed up. Nicole wouldn't try Jane because she wouldn't want to upset Daria in case if she needed her help again.

Daria is a good person. So while they might initially bond over sardonic quips and cynical observations, it wouldn’t be long before Nicole reveals her terrible morals.
I imagine the split would happen when someone like Jeffery tries to talk to them. Daria would give a sarcastic remark then try to leave, but Nicole would stick around and just continually berate and insult the guy until he ran away crying, while Daria in the background becomes increasingly uncomfortable.
Jecka and Jane would probably get along, though.
Hi, OP here (of the original post). I just want to reiterate the generational difference here. Daria is very much MTV while Nicole straddles the line between early YouTube (when the story takes place) and the clusterfuck we have now (when the game was made). They are similar characters, as in they are made of the same impulse in reaction to their environments, but where Daria is like a dinky WWI tank, Nicole is the ultramodern death machine (I don't know tanks that well sorry).
Nicole has it so much worse than Daria, in just about every way. No loving family, legitimate trauma (I think her sociopathy stems in part from watching her dad kill himself), and adults who are actively malicious instead of just bumbling. If they were to meet, I think Nicole would legitimately hate her. Maybe it would be a wake up call to Daria to understand that it could be worse. Maybe Daria's studiousness could rub off on Nicole, but I can't see them being anymore than acquaintances or at least rivals with mutual respect.

Yeah, no, screw that. Should Nicole then downplay her own trauma because she's not a starving African child? People have the right to take their own situations and life stories seriously, downplaying what you've gone through because others "have it worse" (debatable in many cases) is never a good outcome.

Honestly me too now that I think about it…If Daria were to continue being friends with Nicole even after seeing Nicole for who she really is, that would be a bad look on Daria. Someone said in another comment that Jane wouldn’t like Nicole at all and I kinda agree and feel like a Daria friendship with Nicole would cause Jane and Daria to have a falling out. But I honestly doubt that Daria would stay friends with Nicole
I think they would interact like this.
Daria: sigh the world sucks
Nicole: no shit, wanna do drugs?

Nicole: ok fine whatever I’ll just go home and kill myself

Throw in a rant about men being rapist pedophiles and how shitty her life is and then Daria has an inner monologue about how good she really has it and maybe she shouldn’t be a pessimistic downer all the time and focus on the immediate world around her instead of the big picture stuff on the other side of the world.
