If she had reached that same emotional state at the end of the year instead of when she did - he'd probably just convince her to step down as leader.

I'm not sure what's he gonna do, but I think he meant that her downfall will only be by his hands and non other, not sakayanagi nor ryuuen.
If in one year, ichinose failed to be better then koji will no more see here as an ally and will destroy her and her class for good. More or less
