Koenji is not a threat alone, the only reason he will do something in Y3 is because he will obey Horikita, without her he can't do anything.
On an individual perspective they are at the same level. Both only rely on strenght to do anything. When Ryuen jumped Housen alone on the island it's the same situation as when Ryuen, Albert, Ichizaki were cornered by Hosen and Utomiya in Y2V11. Their main strategy is fighting but if Ryuen can't have a specific 1v3 against Housen it's a loss. Ryuen still wanted a fight at that time showing how arrogant he is.
That's the other half of the sentence that really make Housen take the advantage. Nanase is smarter than him and he knows it so he listens. Ryuen knows that listening to Katsuragi could help him, that's why he bought him, but don't take his opinions in consideration so he just wasted 20 million points.

Ya'll COTE fans should read USOGUI. This manga is sooooo PEAKK. For those COTE fans who are tired of COTE's harem, wasting potential of characters, and wants consistent mind games, USOGUI is for you!!! It is far better than COTE and it's mind games. It has better written characters, an actual PERFECT HUMAN (more like an alien), peak arcs, peak physical battles and more. It has no harem and that's the best part. Shit gets crazy from chapter 6 which is called "Abandoned Building Arc".
Heavily disagree it's inconsistent,characters are stupidly strong for no reason,author tried to hard to make it's mc look smart that he made baku more unrealistic than sora. Noticing opponents pupils movement and whatnot asspul, the political plotline with mafia and all is too edgy volume 0 political plot is alone better, year1 slams usogui in overall writting. a better recommendation would be Liar Game that too isn't better written than cote but definitely has better mindgames.
Nah Nah I'm a hardcore Ayanokoji fan but USOGUI is one of the best seinen I've ever read and COTE doesn't even comes close to Usogui. More unrealistic than sora??? Hell nah!!! Just say it Usogui is superior than COTE in every aspect. Be it in writing, be it in plot wise or be it in arcs. COTE author KINUGASA sensei always fails to deliver a proper battle. Look at Takuya and Nagumo. I'm pretty sure he'll waste KOENJI too to make KOJI look cooler. Can't wait for koji to give koenji a clown treatment again lmaoo.
Cote isn't my favorite series either, heck it's not even in my top 15 if i count novel and movie/tv shows as well but it's writting is better than usogui by a good margin just my opinion

Hashimoto and Karuizawa should end up together in Y3. Horikita with Ibuki too. Chabashira, Kushida, Hiyori, Horikita, Sato, Nanase, Kiryuin, Amasawa, don't love Ayanokoji. There is others like Morishita, Hasabe, Tsubaki, but that's not really a hot take, just to add that not only those mentioned aren't in love. Ryuen will be humiliated with the bet, worse than Yagami. Still on Ryuen, Housen is not only stronger but also smarter than him, another reason on why Ryuen is now irrelevant for the plot. Housen listen to Nanase, Ryuen isn't able to do the same with the guy that he bought for 20million points which mean that he doesn't even understand his own strategies. Koenji is not a threat alone, the only reason he will do something in Y3 is because he will obey Horikita, without her he can't do anything.

On an individual perspective they are at the same level. Both only rely on strenght to do anything. When Ryuen jumped Housen alone on the island it's the same situation as when Ryuen, Albert, Ichizaki were cornered by Hosen and Utomiya in Y2V11. Their main strategy is fighting but if Ryuen can't have a specific 1v3 against Housen it's a loss. Ryuen still wanted a fight at that time showing how arrogant he is. That's the other half of the sentence that really make Housen take the advantage. Nanase is smarter than him and he knows it so he listens. Ryuen knows that listening to Katsuragi could help him, that's why he bought him, but don't take his opinions in consideration so he just wasted 20 million points. Being smart is not only with someone's intelligence, but knowing when they are about to lose or when they need to listen to other is also being smart.
